REAL ESTATE
The first new model home done in a modern
style at Miromar Lakes Beach & Golf Club
has just been completed. Since Miromar
first opened, homes have featured the Med-
iterranean style, but that changed this year with the
announcement of a new neighborhood within the
community showcasing the latest in modern architec-
ture.
The Adelaide model by Arthur Rutenberg Homes
showcases its style from right from the front entrance.
An unusual door swings open giving a wider entry
space. While the door is incredibly heavy, it can be
moved easily with just a finger.
“As heavy as it is, it is so simple to open, said Bill
Lutz, sales consultant with Arthur Rutenberg Homes/
Lyons Housing. “It is so easy to open and close. It is an
impact door. It is a vault door.”
The door spans eight feet in height and five feet in
width.
George Mato, Vice President of Sales at Miromar
Lakes Beach & Golf Club, also points to the door as one
of the most unique features.
“You find this in kitchen cabinets, but you never
think you would find it in the front door. It is a swing
door,” he described.

Mato also pointed to the lanai as oneof the great features of the Adelaide.
“If you look at the outdoor pool area,it is a resort,” he began. “The floatingdock which is a resort deck; it is beauti-ful. It is amazing.”
The pool has a water element withboth fountains and a waterfall. A widewooden deck extends over the pool. Un-der roof on the lanai is an outdoor kitch-en, dining area and sitting area by a tele-vision.
Sliding glass doors lead from the la-nai into the great room.
“It is minimalistic, but it is beautiful, and it still feels at home and warm,” Ma-to said.
Flush white cabinets and sleek blackcabinets in the kitchen adhere to themodern style. The Wolf stove is easilyseen with its signature red knobs. Thereis a coffee bar on the side of the kitchenand a walk in pantry with a window. Thekitchen island has shelving on the endsand four plush gray chairs for seating onthe long side by the living room.
In the living room behind the televi-sion is a textured silver/gray wallpaper.A black wooden beam extends over thewall insert and all the way to the hall-way. A dining room table behind the liv-ing room seats six.
Lutz points to the ceilings as one ofthe desired features.
“We were tired of 12 foot ceilings withbeams so went up to 14 foot ceilings,” hesaid. “People have been overwhelmedwith the ceilings. Here the ceilings are 14feet and flat white and the kitchen ceil-ing has a double drop down.”
The front door isn’t the only uniqueopening in the home. Glass doors thatswing in and out are used to enclose theden. Those doors match the style of thesleek windows on the other side of thatroom.
The Adelaide has three bedroomsand three and a half bathrooms.
The master suite has a king size beddone in beige and silver colors. A largepadded headboard mimics that palette.A huge round mirror over the dresser re-flects the room giving it an even largerappearance. Windows overlook the spaarea of the lanai. Lutz said they chose tohave windows in the master bedroominstead of sliding glass doors becausewindows gave more space to put furni-ture for a sitting area. A glass door in the
hall between the bedroom and bath-room leads to the lanai instead.
The master bathroom leads to a hu-mongous walk in closet.
The guest suites are in the front of thehouse. One of them has a queen size beddecorated in white and navy. An orangepicture with a gold coral design gives theroom a pop of color. There is anotherround mirror over the dresser. The sec-ond guest room is done in white. Thereis a white shell sculpture, a white dress-er and white nightstands. The mirror isa series of three long panels of rectan-gles. A large window overlooks a foun-tain feature in the front of the house. Allthe guest rooms have their own bath-room.
This is the first Adelaide model builtby Arthur Rutenberg Homes. Lutz said ithas some features that are similar totheir Sedona II model, only it is better.
“I came up with a wish list of things Iwanted to do that would dramaticallyimprove the home,” Lutz explained. “Weimplemented the changes. I think theSedona was very successful.”
“Every model home you build sellsquickly,” Mato added.
The Adelaide spans 2,759 square feetunder air and a total of 4,190 square feet
of living space. It is listed for $2.389.6million.
Mato said this new modern style isgoing to be popular in Miromar.
“Simplicity is the maximum level ofcomplexity,” he explained. “People now-
adays are really attracted to this style ofhome. We were getting more peoplecoming through our sales gallery withthe actual design ad in their hands andtelling us ‘this is exactly the home wewant to purchase.’”
