Can You “Name That Tune?”
As part of January’s Game Week, Penny, our Music Therapist, organized a
friendly competition of “ACCC Name That Tune” between the members
of the Friendship Circle and Club programs on Tuesday, and between So-
cial Circle and Prime Time on Wednesday. Everyone seemed to have a
great time. Cheers and applause could be heard in the lobby during both
games.
This musical game, based on the former TV game show “Name That
Tune,” is played with large, colorful circles that have musical questions on
the back related to naming the song, finishing a song title or asking about
the musicians. We all get a chance to sit in the “hot seat,” pick a colorful
circle and try to answer the question. When a person gets the “Listen and
Name that Song” card, Penny will play 3-5 measures of the song and the
person will try to guess the song title. The songs in the game are from dif-
ferent eras and include folk, rock-n-roll, love, and big band songs. Every-
one gets involved playing this game and having fun. Sometimes, we are so
helpful to each other that we all answer the questions at one time! “ACCC
Name That Tune” is a fun game that everyone can play. It creates a great
social event where everyone is a winner!

Participant Spotlight: Albert Dorazio
Al was born in Cheiti, Italy on June 17, 1933. He grew up on a farm in the Mountain Region and his par-
ents were Maria and Pietro Dorazio. Al had two brothers, Angelo who is deceased, and Tony who is 90 years
old and lives in the United States. He had two sisters, Bambina who is 100 years old and living in Italy, and
Sara who is deceased. As a child, he enjoyed playing the accordion. Al lived in Italy during very difficult
times through World War II.
Al was a very gifted craftsman working as a stone mason and also with tile and flooring. One achievement
of which he was very proud was a 3-tier Stone Fountain that he designed and built. He and his wife, Margie
met through a family friend and they were married
on November 26, 1966 at Saint Joseph’s Church in
Downingtown, PA. They have been married for
46 years and have 3 children, Peter, Donna and
David, and 6 grandchildren, Ryan, Christopher,
Jake, Julia, Jake and David.
Al’s family says that he has always been a
wonderful husband and father. He is a member of
the Sons of Italy and the Knights of Columbus.
He was a good bowler and belonged to a bowling
league.
Al enjoys his days here at our Exton Center
and is a friend to everyone. He enjoys spending
time in all of our programs and being a friend to
all of the staff. His smile and laugh brighten our
days. To the right, Al is dancing with Penny, our
Music Therapist, at the New Years Eve Party.
Spring is only two months away! That is great news for people who do not like snow and cold weather. It
is also exciting for the people who like to join us for our Basket BINGO events. The first one this year will be
held on April 19, 2013 at our Exton Center. That date is a Friday evening for those who want to have a “night
out.” Please let us know if you would be more apt to attend if care was provided at the center for your loved
one while you play BINGO. If we have interest, we will see what we can do to make that happen. The second
event will be in our Kennett Square Center on Sunday, October 20, 2013.
December 2013 will mark our 30th anniversary! In the near future we will begin to reach out to people
who want to serve on a committee to organize an anniversary event. If you are interested, please contact Pat S.
Volunteer opportunities for special events are plentiful. We are trying to expand our special event com-
mittees. If you are interested, let us know.
Exciting Things Lie Ahead!
Year to kick off the week followed by making a King Cake for our Mardi Gras celebration. On February
14th, at our Valentine's Day Dance, we will dance with our loved ones and have a special after-party dessert.
During Friendship Week, we will celebrate the friendships we have at the center by making friendship brace-
lets and reading stories and poems about friends.
We will end the month by remembering the fairytales of our time with Traditional Fairytale Week. We will
read and discuss the stories and make up our own fairytale of Adult Care.
Bill and Carol Lea will entertain us with country music, and Brother Bob and Friends will sing songs. Our
participants always join in.

News from Southern Chester County Center
January began with one last holiday concert performed by a new musi-
cal group to our center, “The Country Gospel Rhythm Band.” These four
terrific gentlemen sang and played guitar, prompting Marjorie to give the
group 5 stars! The Brandywine Room eased us into winter with decorations
everywhere of handmade snowflakes. The theme for their room is “I like
winter because….” A few of their reasons include: mittens, snowfall, hot
cocoa, snowmen, warm food, and my personal favorite, sleeping in! When
asked what the best thing about the month was, Jazzy summed it up with
“we had fun.”
Elvis was in the building to celebrate his birthday at an all Elvis dance
party. Thank you to Elmer, who supplied us with wonderful Elvis themed
decorations and made sure the main man attended his party. We learned to
Zumba (fast paced exercise to music) this month with Heather from “Going
Fit.” The movements were specially adapted so they could be done from
chairs, while our favorite music from the ‘40’s and ‘50’s played. Heather
was so energetic and entertaining that we forgot we were exercising! We
love to party at the center and celebrated two birthdays this month, Helen
and Alberta. We would also like to send a thank you to Alice’s family for
the donut treats and Helen’s daughter for the cakes.
Highlights from Exton
The month of January started off with the celebration of one of the best and well known entertainers who
everyone still loves, "The King," Elvis Presley. We celebrated his birthday with an Elvis Dance featuring his
best hit songs for dancing. "Love Me Tender," "Hound Dog," "Heartbreak Hotel," and "Can't Help Falling in
Love" were some of the hit songs to which we danced.
We continued the month with a theme of creating new ideas, activities and songs. We worked our
creative minds and came up with some interesting products.
On January 21st, we watched the Inauguration Ceremonies for President Obama and we celebrated the
birthday of Martin Luther King, Jr.
We ended the month reminiscing about all the fun games we played as a child or with our children. We re-
membered the many game shows that we watched on T.V. and how we played along in our homes with the
children. We had friendly competition against each other with the game show "Name That Tune," trying to
name a song with only five notes played. What a challenge!
Throughout the month, we also enjoyed the entertainment of Brother Bob and Friends and a new enter-
tainer, Mr. Wilde, who played the guitar and sang songs to which we could sing-a-long. In addition, Ed the
Music Man gave us a morning of singing, and we were delighted by Walt who played the piano and led a sing-
a-long every Friday.
