03The new Tiguan – design

An exterior that’s extraordinaryThe new Tiguan shows you what constant reinvention

means, not least in its advanced design. From the

power-focused proportions of its dynamic front and

precise lines that run over the pronounced shoulders,

all the way to the distinctive rear, this automobile

has an expressive silhouette that highlights its

strengths: the power of innovation, authority, and

uncompromising functionality.

01 From the first time it catches your eye, the new Tiguan radiates authority. Bold design elements such as the redesigned radiator grille emphasise its strengths and create a striking identity for this stylish adventurer.

05The new Tiguan – IQ.LIGHT

IQ.LIGHTThe Tiguan beams with brilliance; so do its LED tail

light clusters and optional IQ.LIGHT LED matrix

headlights. In the Tiguan Elegance and Tiguan R-Line,

these are even equipped with cornering light, and

when purchasing in a package with the new tail light

clusters are supplemented with dynamic main-beam

control: this makes it possible for individual LED

segments to be switched on or off on a targeted basis

to adjust light patterns to suit the driving situation.

So you can enjoy a relaxed drive, and so can anyone

driving ahead of you or coming toward you. Another

spectacular feature is the integrated dynamic turn

signal, that indicates the direction by means of a

flowing movement of light.

07The new Tiguan – Interior

An interior that’s innovativeThe generous interior of the new Tiguan is a space

for forward thinkers. The driver-focused cockpit is

designed to feature intuitive controls that make it

easy for you to concentrate on what really matters.

There’s the multifunction steering wheel in leather

for example, or the Digital Cockpit with a 26 cm

(10.25-inch) TFT colour display that comes as standard

in the Tiguan Elegance and Tiguan R-Line.

09The new Tiguan – IQ.DRIVE

IQ.DRIVEDriver assist systemsTrusty assistants make life a little easier; when driving too.

At Volkswagen, IQ.DRIVE stands for all our intelligent

driver assist systems – all those that already exist in our

company today; that we are developing for tomorrow;

and that we are researching for the future. IQ.DRIVE is

also synonymous with innovative ideas that have one

clear focus: your comfort.

1 Within system limits.2 Available in combination with optional Travel Assist.3 The driver must be prepared to override the assistance system at any time,

and is not relieved of their responsibility to drive the vehicle with due care.

01 The proactive occupant protection system can keep you safe you in critical situations, such as if a collision is imminent. It can identify situations where there is a high risk of an accident, and responds by automatically closing the windows and tilting and sliding panoramic sunroof, and tensioning the front seat belts as a precaution. It’s good to know that this feature is in place – though it’s better if you never experience it yourself.1 S

02 Emergency Assist, which is available on request, can intervene in the event of a medical emergency; if it registers that driver activity has stopped, it will attempt to alert the driver.2 If there is still no response, the system stops the vehicle in a controlled manner, within system limits, and in doing so can prevent an accident.1, 2 OE

03 The new Tiguan puts technologies on the roadthat will make your journey more relaxed. This also includes optional Travel Assist. At the touch of a button, this function provides a high degree of driving comfort by supporting you during monotonous or tiring driving situations. On the motorway and major provincial roads in particular, Travel Assist can keep you in lane and maintain speed, as well as staying the right distance from traffic ahead. When used in combination with the dual clutch gearbox (DSG), it means you can even tackle congested roads and stop-and-start traffic with little stress.1, 3 OE

04 Thanks to Front Assist Autonomous Emergency Braking with Pedestrian Monitoring, if a collision is imminent your Tiguan can help to reduce the severity of the collision – or ideally, avoid the collision entirely. It does this by monitoring the road ahead and, if it detects pedestrians and vehicles there, it warns the driver in plenty of time. If the driver fails to respond, the system can apply the emergency brake.1 S

Infotainment and connectivityThe new Tiguan is your gateway into the digital

services offered by Volkswagen. Fully connected

from the outset on request, after you have

completed a one-off activation and signed in with

your Volkswagen ID, many We Connect services

will be available for you to use. The We Connect app

enables access to important vehicle information.

You can also check remotely whether the doors of

your Tiguan are locked or the side light is switched off,

for example.

01 With the integrated Wi-Fi hotspot1, your Tiguan is ready to take the data highway. The stable internet connection it creates enables you and your passengers to browse on up to eight devices, ensuring everyone can be entertained. It uses practical data bundles purchased through the Infotainment system, meaning you can keep track of the volume of data used. OE

02 With navigation services from We Connect Plus1, you’ll have access to current traffic information in real time. Online Route Calculation means you can be sure you are on the best possible route, while Online Map Update always gives you access to the latest map data. Media Streaming and Internet Radio bring further smart entertainment options to your Infotainment system, so you can enjoy your favourite music, live stations, and podcasts wherever you are. OE

The specified consumption and emissions values were obtained using the legally required measurement procedure. Since 01/09/2017, certain new vehicles have been type-approved according to the Worldwide Harmonised Light Vehicle Test Procedure (WLTP), a new, more realistic testing process for measuring fuel consumption and CO₂ emissions. The WLTP will gradually replace the New European Driving Cycle (NEDC) from 01/09/2018. Due to the more realistic test conditions, in many cases the fuel consumption and CO₂ emissions values measured in accordance with the WLTP will be higher than those measured in accordance with the NEDC. This may result in corresponding changes to vehicle taxation from 01/09/2018. Further information about the differences between the WLTP and NEDC is available at volkswagen.de/wltp. It is currently still mandatory to include NEDC values in communications. For new vehicles that have been type-approved according to the WLTP, NEDC values will be derived based on WLTP values. The additional provision of WLTP values is voluntary until their application becomes mandatory. If NEDC values are specified as a range, they are not based on any individual vehicle and do not form part of the offer. They are provided purely for comparison purposes between the various types of vehicle. Additional equipment and accessories (attachments, tyre format, etc.) could change relevant vehicle parameters, such as weight, rolling resistance and aerodynamics. As well as weather and traffic conditions and personal driving style, these add-ons could also affect a vehicle’s fuel consumption, power consumption, CO₂ emissions and performance. Further information regarding official fuel consumption and the official specific CO₂ emissions for new passenger vehicles can be found in “Guidelines on fuel consumption, CO₂ emissions and electricity consumption of new cars”, which is available free of charge from all points of sale and DAT Deutsche Automobil Treuhand GmbH, Hellmuth-Hirth-Str. 1, 73760 Ostfildern-Scharnhausen (dat.de/co2).

The vehicles shown in this brochure may be equipped with optional equipment at additional cost. All of the information regarding equipment and technical data is based on the characteristics of the German market and corresponds to the knowledge available at the time of printing. Your local Volkswagen Dealer will be happy to provide you with details on the products available in your country. Subject to change, errors excepted. *The use of mobile online services from We Connect is made possible by an integrated internet connection. Where network coverage is available, the data costs incurred in this context within Europe are borne by Volkswagen AG, with the exception of Streaming & Internet services. To use the Streaming & Internet services and the Wi-Fi hotspot, data bundles can be bought via an external mobile communications partner, Cubic Telecom, and used within many European countries where network coverage exists. Information on prices and supported countries is available at vw.cubictelecom.com. Alternatively, it is possible to use internet radio and media streaming via a mobile end device (for example a smartphone) that is enabled to function as a mobile Wi-Fi hotspot. In this case, the corresponding services are available only in conjunction with an existing or separately concluded mobile contract between you and your mobile provider, and only where coverage by the corresponding mobile network is available. Depending on your mobile phone tariff, receiving data from the internet may incur additional charges, particularly if you are using the phone abroad (e.g. roaming charges). To be able to use the free We Connect app, you need a smartphone with a suitable iOS or Android operating system and a SIM card with data option and which has an existing mobile phone contract between you and your mobile phone provider, or a contract concluded separately for this purpose. The availability of the individual We Connect and We Connect Plus services described in the packages may vary from country to country. The services are available during the agreed contractual period and may be subject to amendments or ceased throughout the duration of the contract. For more information, visit connect.volkswagen-we.com or contact your Volkswagen Dealer. For information regarding your mobile phone tariff, please contact your network provider.
