The New Simple Umrah Guide★ 1. When you reach the Meeqaat (or just before it on a !ight) assume Ihraam and recite:

لـبـي$ك ٱٱللـه&ـم بع&م$ر"ةة Labbaik Allahumma bi-`umrah. [Here I am, O Allaah, making `Umrah.] ★ 2. If you are in fear of not completing the Umrah, then recite:

االله&م م"ح7ل7ي= ح"ي$ث& ح"ب"س$تن7يAllahumma mahillee haithu habastanee. [O Allaah! my place is wherever You prevent me.]★ 3. Stand, face the Qiblah and recite:

االله&م ه"ذهه7 ع&م$ر"ةة الD رري"اءء" ف7ي$ه"ا ووFالD س&م$ع"ةAllahumma haadhihi `umrah , laa riyaa'a feehaa wa laa sum'ah.[O Allaah this is an ‘Umrah, there being no showing-off in it nor seeking repute.]★ 4. Then loudly & frequently recite the talbiyyah until you reach the Haram:

لبي$ك االله&م لبي$ك، لبي$ك الD شري$ك لك لبي$ك، اانن االح"م$د ووF االن7ع$م"ة لكووFاالم&لك الD شري$ك لك

Labbaik Allahumma Labbaik, Labbaika laa shareeka laka Labbaik, Innal hamda wanni‘mata laka wal-mulk, Laa shareeka lak. [Here I am O Allaah. Here I am, You have no partner. Here I am, verily all praise is for You, and every bounty is from You - and all dominion is Yours, You have no partner.]★ 5. Also from the talbiyyah, is to recite:

Yلبي$ك االه" االح"قLabbaika ilaahal haqq. [Here I am, O God of Truth.]★ 6. Enter al-Masjid al-Haraam (the Sacred Mosque) with the right foot #rst & recite:

االله&م ص"لbY ع"لى م&ح"مد ووF س"ل7م، االله&م اافتح$ ل7ي ااب$وFاابب" رر"ح$م"ت7كAllahummasalli `ala muhammad wasallim Allahumma aftahlee abwaaba rahmatika. [O Allaah, send prayers and peace upon Muhammad. O Allaah, open the doors of your Mercy for me.]★ 7. Start at al-Hajr al-Aswad (the Black Stone). Men must uncover the right shoulder by placing the Ihraam under the right armpit. When beginning each circuit of tawaaf, make a sign with your right hand towards the Black Stone and say:

االله ااكeب"رAllaahu Akbar. [Allaah is the Greatest.]★ 8. Make seven circuits of the Ka’bah. Men should swiftly walk around the Ka’bah for the #rst three circuits, then begin the fourth circuit at a normal walking pace. During each circuit, whilst between the Yemeni Corner and the Black Stone, recite:

رر"بنا آآت7نا ف7ي االدني"ا ح"س"نة ووF ف7ي ااآلخ7ر"ةة7 ح"س"نة ووF ق7نا ع"ذاابب" االناررRabbanaa aatinaa !d-dunya hasana wa!l aakhirati hasana wa qinaa `adhaaban naar.[Our Lord! Give us that which is good in this world and in the Hereafter, and save us from the torment of the Fire.]★ 9. Men cover the right shoulder, then go behind the Place of Ibraaheem and recite:

ووFااتخ7ذوو=اا م7ن$ مقاممr ااب$ر"ااه7ي$م" م&ص"لpى

Wattakhidhoo min-maqaami ibraaheema musalla. [And take the station of Ibraaheem as a place of prayer.]★ 10. Here pray two rak’aahs. In the #rst rak’ah recite Soorah al-Kaa#roon and in the second rak’ah recite Soorah al-Ikhlaas behind the Place of Ibraaheem if possible, otherwise anywhere else within al-Masjid al-Haraam. ★ 11. Then go to the Zam-Zam taps and drink from it, and pour some of the water over your head.★ 12. Return to al-Hajar al-Aswad (the Black Stone) and touch it as before, if you are able - and say “Allaahu Akbar”, otherwise set off to make Sa`ee between Safaa and Marwa.★ 13. Then begin Sa`ee (i.e. the walk) at Safaa. At the foot of Safaa recite this only once:

اانن االصفا ووFاالم"ر$ووFةة م7ن$ شع"آئ7ر االله7 فم"ن$ ح"ج االب"ي$ت" ااوو ااع$تم"ر" فالy ج&ناحح" ع"لي$ه7 اانن ي"طوفف" بهم"ا ووFم"ن$ تطوعع خي$راا فانن االله" شاك7ر� ع"ل7ي$م ⁃‑‐ نب$داا بم"ا ب"داا االله& به7

Innas-safaa wal marwata min sha'aa'irillaahi faman hajjal baita 'auwi`tamara falaa junaaha 'alaihi an yattawwafa bihimaa wa man tatawwa'a khairan fa innAllaaha shaakirun 'aleem - nabda’u bima bada’ Allaahu bihi. [Verily! As-Safaa and al-Marwah are of the signs of Allaah. So it is not a sin on him who performs Hajj or 'Umrah of the House to perform the Tawaaf between them. And whoever does good voluntarily, then verily, Allah is All-Recogniser, All-Knower.]★ 14. Each time upon the hill of Safaa face the Ka’bah and recite this three times:

االله& ااكeب"ر&، االله& ااكeب"ر&، االله& ااكeب"ر& الD االه" ااال االله& ووFح$دهه& الD شري$ك له&، له& االم&لك ووF له& االح"م$د ي&ح$يي ووF ي&م7ي$ت& ووF ه&وF ع"لى ك�لbY شي=ءء� قدي$ر؛ الD االه" ااال االله& ووFح$دهه& الD شري$ك

له، اانج"ز" ووFع$دهه& ووF نص"ر" ع"ب$دهه& ووF ه"ز"مم" ااالح$ز"اابب" ووF ح$دهه&Allaahu Akbar Allaahu Akbar Allaahu Akbar - laa illaaha illallahu wahdahu laa shareekalah - lahul mulku wa lahul hamdu - yuhyee wa yumeetu wa huwa 'alaa kulli shay'in qadeer - laa ilaaha illallahu wahdahu laa shareekalah - anjaza wa'dahu wa nasara 'abdahu wa hazamal ahzaaba wahdahu. [Allaah is the Greatest, Allaah is the Greatest, Allaah is the Greatest. There is none truly worthy of worship except Allaah alone, without partner. To Him belongs all sovereignty and all praise. He alone gives life and causes death, and He is All-Powerful over everything. There is none truly worthy of worship except Allah alone, without partner. He has ful#lled His promise, and helped His slave, and He alone has defeated the confederates.] Make plentiful du’a after the #rst and second recitations, with your hands raised.★ 15. Then walk from Safaa to the hill of Marwah and recite upon it the same as you did at Safaa. That is one circuit. Then return to Safaa and recite the du’a again (second circuit), and continue for seven circuits #nishing at Marwah. Do not recite it on the last visit to Marwah. Upon encountering the green lights between the two hills, men only should run from one green light to the next.★ 16. You may now exit the Masjid al-Haraam with the left foot, reciting:

االله&م ص"لbY ع"لى م&ح"مد ووF س"ل7م، االله&م اان7ي ااس$الك م7ن$ فض$ل7كAllaahumma salli `alaa muhammadin wa sallim Allaahumma innee 'as'aluka min fadhlika.[O Allaah, send prayers and peace upon Muhammad, O Allaah, verily I ask You from Your Favour.]★ 17. Finally, men should shave their head as this is best, or cut hair equally from all over head. Women should cut a #ngertip’s length of their hair. Your `Umrah is now complete, may Allaah accept it.
