How does eachinitiative your

hence our initiative
to effectively train over 500youth living in constructiontrades to literally rebuildthis nation. Through out the
past two years HPCD has part-nered with the MINUSTAH tocarefully extract promisingyouth from high risk areas andeffectively train them in technicaltrades which include, but arenot limited to : construction, plumbing, electricity, electronics,air-conditioning, refrigeration,
generator main-tenance, and iron

At HPCD webelieve thatthese youth areHaitis tomor-row. Investing intheir future isinvesting in our
future, the future
of this nation.

This program, didntchange my life, it helpeddefine it. Not only by
equipping me with thetrade skills of plumber, but withthe necessary experience to sus-tain a successful career as askilled tradesman, Hillaire God-son, a young distinguished benefi-ciary from our reinsertion pro-gram has definitely set his self
apart from his peers.
January,12th ,2010 changed the
course of Godsons life forever, a
refugee currently living in displace-
ment camp of Jean Marie Vincent,
filled with dreams of what his fu-
ture would hold had to plainly put
his life on hold after the devastat-
ing earthquake of January 12th.
Godson elaborated on how this
program not only equipped a tech-
nical trade, but served as a means
for receiving a global education,
gaining valuable work experience
and changing the course of his
life forever.
This program has brought stabil-ity to Godsons life and has fu-
eled new ambitions for his life. After his internship, Godsonplans to study civil engineering at
a reputable university in the met-ropolitan region. Godson believesthis program should be imple-
mented on a national level. Thisopportunity is invaluable and is
transforming our society forever.
A bit more about Godson Hillaire:
-Born on June 9th , 1989.-Wants to be remembered for his
talent, sincerity and discipline
-His idol: Nelson Mandela-Favorite word: equanimity- tran-
quility of spirit
Each person has their lot in life,at HPCD we believe that re-gardless of where life hasplaced you, it doesnt need to
define your future. The earthquake ofJanuary literally transformed and dis-placed the lives of hundreds of thou-sands people in the metropolitan
area.
HPCD is working to ensure that in
spite of inconveniences for the youth
living in displacement camps, there is
an opportunity to go to a respected
trade school and gain valuable experi-
ences at premier construction compa-
nies in the Port-au-Prince area.
