The NATURE–SDIplus Network Development
Co-funded by the Community Programme eContentplusECP-2007-GEO-317007
NATURE-SDIplus is an open networkNATURE-SDIplus Members represent the following categories of operators in nature conservation and natural data management: Data providers on a national, regional and local scale representing organisations that are in charge of the production of the spatial information; Technological partners that implement and maintain advanced operational tools and the vision of future ICT trends; Researchers that maintain the knowledge of the current and future research fields;User representatives using spatial information for nature conservation and to which the project should give answers about their requirements. 2
Building the NATURE-SDIplus Network, a Community grouping target users such as data providers, data users and service providers, through:
Network development at National level, to establish National NATURE-SDIplus Communities
Dissemination and awareness actions: Web site, newsletters, national and European
Conference and workshops On-line Training Framework and Training initiatives Sharing Good Practice Clustering and link with other initiatives
NATURE-SDIplus NETWORK DEVELOPMENT

15 project partners in the role of National Coordinator:
to develop the Network at national level in each Country represented in the Consortium and to coordinate: the individuation, the collection and the provision of nature conservation datasets relevant for the project;the awareness and dissemination activities and the network development at national level;technical activities related to the access to datasets in their Countries;additionally, the training actions organized within the project.

NATURE-SDIplus follow-up
NATURE-SDIplus Network is continuing its mission, also after the conclusion of the eContentplus project, to support the INSPIRE implementation regarding the nature conservation aspects.
That is being executed throughout: the NATURE-SDIplus Project Office, as contact point of the Network also assuring the operativeness of the Network;training and awareness activities, in particular training actions at national level addressed to selected stakeholders;further development of the NATURE-SDIplus Good Practice Catalogue, a tool to allow the sharing of experiences in nature conservation data management and data harmonisation, that will be maintained also after the project funding period; NATURE-SDIplus Geoportal and the deployment of the wider NATURE-SDIplus Infrastructure for the definition and implementation of applications and servicesActive participation in the interoperability Working Group, constituted by JRC and CEN TC/287Promotion of new projects and initiatives
