2018-2019 TRYOUTS Tryouts for the 2018-2019 season have concluded. If you have not heard back by 7/3/18, please contact the coach, as uniform orders for the younger teams are due by 7/6/18 (see below). Should you be offered a spot on a team and you accept, please register and submit $250 deposit. NEW UNIFORM ORDERS All players will need to order new uniforms for next season as styles are changing and these will be good for two seasons (see uniform ordering instructions https://www.nyelitefc.com/uniforms-gear/). Players and age groups have different uniform requirements so make sure to review them. When notified you made a team and you are ready to commit, confirm jersey number assignment with coach or team manager prior to placing order. Chelsea FC Foundation Training NY Elite FC Boys 2004-2007 interested in training with EPL Chelsea FC Foundation coaches this summer must sign up with their coach by 6/30. NY ELITE FC 2002 BOYS COMPETE AT 2018 NPL FINALS

Coach Adam Clinton’s 2002 Boys team was a semi-finalist at the US Club Soccer Eastern NPL Finals held June 29-July 3 at Progin Park in Lancaster MA under extremely hot weather conditions. They drew twice 1:1 against both Bruno United and CSA Impact United, and beat NASA Nth 02 1-0 to make it to the final four, only to fall to Phila Ukrainian Nationals 02 0-1 in

Congratulations to our graduating seniors from the 2000 Boys Team as they announce their college commitments. Five of these players from Shenendehowa HS started on the youngest U10 team in the club’s 2009 inaugural year, and have played for nine seasons. COLLEGE RECRUITING INFORMATION

With the 2002, 2001, 2000 NY Elite FC players participating in college showcase tournaments and planning for college soccer, it’s important to have adequate information to help you make the right decisions. Official National College Athletic Association (NCAA) information is located at www.ncaa.org. Your NY Elite FC coaches are also a good source of information to help plan your future soccer career and answer any questions you might have. Preparation should begin in the freshmen year and include:

• Creation of a Soccer Profile to document your experience and achievements • Compiling a video clip containing key plays to highlight your skills (no longer than 5 minutes) • Contacting College Coaches at schools where you are interested in attending and playing in

their program, and notifying them when/where they can see you play • Participate in College Showcase Tournaments with your team • Attending College ID Camps and Showcase Weekends to play in front coaches who may not be

able to see you at tournaments • Visiting local area colleges while traveling for showcase tournaments

NY Elite FC holds an annual College Soccer Information Night, usually during the winter, to provide an overview of the process so players can get ready for the following year’s recruiting activities. Our February 2018 event was well-attended by more than 30 players and their families as Adam Clinton (DIII RPI Mens Head Coach), Cesar Markovic (DI Siena College Mens Head Coach) and Steve Karbowski (DI Siena College Women’s Head Coach) provided details on the college recruiting process and answered questions. Watch for future dates in early 2019.

ED PLACKE SCHOLARSHIP 2018 BOYS RECIPIENTS

In recognition of Edward "Ed" Placke for his years of service to youth soccer in the Capital District, four college scholarships totaling $1000 are presented annually in his honor. In the spirit of New York Elite FC, the club awarded these scholarships to players who best exemplify the spirit of true sportsmanship in the sport of soccer. NPL Player Development Program (PDP) Participants US Club Soccer's Player Development Programs (PDPs) are regionally based identification and developmental programs conducted within the id2 Program umbrella. PDPs are focused around the Premier Leagues (NPL) and other top leagues in specific geographic areas. PDP invitations are based upon objective scouting of elite clubs and leagues, combined with recommendations from top Directors of Coaching. id2 Program staff are on-site at PDP events to scout players for potential inclusion in id2 Training Camps, and U.S. Soccer staff may also be on-site to scout players for potential U.S. National Team inclusion as well as conduct off-the-field lectures, seminars, coaching and other related discussions.

MILES JOSEPH SOCCER CAMP 2018 (YOUTH AGES 4-7)

Camp Director Miles Joseph, US Soccer Olympian, former Major League Soccer Pro and Assistant Coach, is offering a camp for soccer’s rising stars. Soccer skills are instructed including dribbling, passing and goal scoring techniques. Campers build confidence and learn new skills while having a blast! Players of all skill levels are welcome. Spaces fill up fast for this camp so register early.

2018 SOCCER CLINICS More than 20 players ages 8-12 participated in our free annual spring soccer clinics held by our club coaches Dan Lindemann, Dave Bonzerato, John Mabee, Josh Mabee and Jon Bain. They also donated 50 pounds of canned and dried food to the Northeast Regional Food Bank in return for receiving some fun soccer and skills training. Check our website for next year’s clinic announcement.
