It has been quite quiet and will remain so for the next couple months with the “summer holidays” beginning soon. In the past month or so, we had two very good talks by Collette Hassan – “Names & Titles” on 27/5/17 and “Malay Language & Proverbs” on 17/6/17. Collette has studied our Malaysian language and culture with great enthusiasm and presented information which many locals take for granted or accept without question or understanding. Quite often it takes a foreigner to do that! Kudos to Collette!

It has been quite quiet and will remain so for the next couple months with the “summer holidays” beginning soon. A little reminder to MVs that these Focus events are organised (by our ardent MV Elizabeth Khoo) so that you can be “cerdik seperti kancil”. Don’t be a couch potato and do take advantage of this free service! Don’t be “seperti katak di bawah tempurung”. Focus may “gulung tikar” and then we will be “seperti pungguk rindukan bulan”! The Crown Prince of Japan visits Muzium Negara, 16/4/17 In the April issue of Screamer, we reported the visit of the Crown Prince of Japan to Muzium Negara.
For her guiding services to Prince Naruhito, the heir apparent to the Chrysanthemum Throne, MV Yuko Ikeda received a gift from HRH – an Imperial
Spoon! The spoon is engraved with the Imperial Seal of Japan, also called the Chrysanthemum Seal, and is one of the national seals used by the Emperor of Japan and members of the Imperial Family.
