The Since 2004 The Munchie Games is a “Round Robin” scrimmage with other teams within the TVYFL the week before our first regular season game. Prior to the 2004 season, the Munchie Games were called “Round Robin”. On July 12, 2004, a motorcycle accident claimed the life of our own former player and coach Ryan “Munchie” Taylor. In 2003, Munchie was the youngest certified coach in the history of the Trans Valley Youth Football League coaching alongside his dad, Dave Taylor. His younger brother Brent, played his final year as a “Saint” in 2007 and was the last person that will ever wear the number 51 within the Saints. The number 51 jersey was worn by Munchie as a player and was officially retired at the end of the 2007 season. In memory of Munchie, the TVYFL respectfully changed the name to the “Munchie Games”. “Munchie” was a positive role model for many and his spirit and memories will remain in all of his family, friends and the Saints family forever. “Munchie” was a positive role model for many and his spirit and memories will remain in all of his family, friends and the Saints family forever.
