July Mission Focus Since 1985, Interfaith Community Services has pursued a single mission: to help Pima County seniors, disabled individuals and people in financial crises achieve stable and independent lives. Today, ICS is a compassionate place where 65 diverse faith communities, 600 volunteers and thousands of hands and hearts come together to help those in need in our community. Volunteer, donate and help change lives.
Hunger doesn’t take a summer holiday. As school lets out and many children do not have access to free lunch programs, the ICS Food Bank always sees a rise in the number of adults and children who turn to us for help in meeting their nutritional needs. At the same time, many of our food donors leave town for the summer and there are fewer food drives. You can help make sure neighbors in need don't go hungry by pick-ing up a few extra items to donate the next time you go grocery shopping. There is a container in the back of the sanctuary to place your food items.
Here is the list of items for the summer months:
SpaghettiOs, chili or ravioli in pop-top cans
Canned meat and tuna
Instant mashed potatoes
Rice
Dry pasta (spaghetti, macaroni, macaroni and cheese)
Spaghetti sauce in cans
Canned fruits and vegetables
Breakfast cereal
Jams and jellies
Peanut butter
However, all non perishable food donations are always needed and welcome. The ICS Food Bank can also accept fresh food like fruits and vegetables. Donations are also ac-
