children of God, and if children then heirs, heirs of God

and joint heirs with Christ....”

ROMANS 8: 16-17

If we are heirs to the kingdom of God, shouldn’t we work to

God has left to us? Our Church is a treasured heirloom from

God. Do we treat it that way?

GLOUCESTER CATHOLIC HIGH SCHOOL NEWS

· HOST FAMILIES NEEDED FOR CHINESE STUDENTS TO ATTEND GCHS IN 2018-2019-Gloucester Catholic has part-nered with IVY International (IIG). They are a leading educational placement agency for students from China who study in private high schools throughout the U.S. There is a growing need for families who are willing to open their homes to our students and become a host for the 2018-2019 school year. Our students range from grades 9-11. Each family will be awarded a monthly stipend of $1,000 per month by IVY International. If interested, please con-tact Mandy Chan at IVY International by phone at 484.300.5760 or [email protected]

· RAMS BASKETBALL SCHOOL-The Rams Basketball School for boys entering grade 3rd through 9th will again be held this summer at Gloucester Catholic High School. The camp will be under the direction of Mr. Pat Murphy, for-mer head coach of the GCHS Basketball Team. The camp will be offered July 23rd to July 26th. To receive a bro-chure please e-mail [email protected]

· GLOUCESTER CATHOLIC FR. JOHN SULLIVAN GOLF TOURNAMENT-The Fr. Sullivan Golf Tournament will be held at the Pitman Golf Club on Monday, June 18th. Registration will begin at 12 noon. A putting contest will precede the 1:30 shotgun start. As usual, our format will be best ball of foursome. This golf tournament is named for Rev. Fr. John Sullivan who spent over twenty years of his life serving the Gloucester Catholic and St. Mary’s Community. “Sully” was a friend to all who came in contact with him. We name the tournament in his honor to carry on the spirit of commitment that he gave to Gloucester Catholic. Profit from this tournament help fund Alumni Scholarships and the Athletic Department. For more info please call Pat Moughan at 609.970.1822 or e-mail at [email protected]

· YOUR VOICE MATTERS TO THE FUTURE OF CATHOLIC SCHOOLS-Did you know? The NJ Governor’s Budget for Fis-cal Year 2019 (2018-19 school year) cut the ceiling for non-public school transportation from $1,000 to $884.00. Last year, the Legislature increased that ceiling to $1,000 per pupil. Restoring this transportation ceiling is our TOP PRIOITY! Also, the funding for Non-Public Scholl Nursing and Technology accounts that were provided by the Legis-lature for the 2017-18 school year (a total of $3.8 million) were cut by Governor Murphy in the proposed FY 2019 Budget. WHAT CAN YOU DO? Please ask your State Legislators to restore the ceiling for non-public school transpor-tation to last year’s amount of $1,000, and restore the amount for nursing and technology to at least the amounts of the 2018-18 school year. Ask your legislators to encourage their colleagues on the Budget Committee to restore the funding to at least the 2017-18 amounts. Please contact Senator Nilsa Cruz Perez, Assemblymembers Patricia Jones and Arthur Barclay at 856.547.4800. PLEASE CALL TODAY and THANK YOU for your support of Catholic Education.

Memorial Day Mass at St. Mary’s Cemetery on Browning Road in Bellmawr, NJ will be held on Monday, May 28th, 2018 at 10:00AM in the Mausoleum Chapel. All are invited to attend to REMEMBER THOSE WHO HAVE SERVED AND WHO HAVE GONE BEFORE US. Fr. Bernie Gannon will be the celebrant.

Our Lady of Peace Parish/St. Mary’s Church in Williamstown will hold its Annual Car-nival, Monday June 25th through Saturday, June 30th from 6:00PM too 10:00PM on the church grounds. Featured will be games, rides, amusements, refreshments of all kinds, and of course, fun for all ages. On Tuesday & Wednesday from 6 to closing,
