• Similarities between the moon and Earth:– Both are rocky and fairly dense (thick / hard)– Both have many of the same elements like

aluminum, iron, and oxygen.– Both have craters!

• Differences between the moon and Earth:– Moon is only about 1/4th the size of the Earth.– Moon’s pull of gravity is about 1/6th that of

Earth. (180lb person would weigh 30lbs.)– Moon has almost no atmosphere and no liquid

water.– Moon has temperatures from 212 degrees F to

–247 degrees F at night.– Moon has more craters.
