city where the great Parthenon is located.

• The Acropolis showed that Athens was a powerful city.

• The Parthenon is a temple contributed to the goddess Athena.

• It’s tall marble pillars, bright colors, and amazing statue of Athena would intimidate foreigners.

• The agora was the marketplace of Athens

• Ancient people bought and sold goods and also made governmental decisions here

• This is where democracy emerged

where Greek drama originated from• It was originally made to worship the

god, Dionysus, but then became a entertainment center of the ancient Greeks

• It was dedicated the god Hephaestus who was god of craftsmanship
