One Savior, One Body, One Mission, One Ministry
June 11 we united our two services into one to celebrate the Lord together.
New worship time
Sunday School 9:00 a.m. Worship 10:00 a.m.
****************************************************************
FROM THE PASTOR: The Gospel of Jesus Christ is the good news that God is
restoring our broken lives through the death and resurrection of Jesus Christ.
Are you ready for June 11th? Are you EXCITED to be part of something new?
I am excited to begin a new time of worship. I am excited for our first worship
service together. I hope you are. As you come in the church you will see signs at
all the doors that announce the new worship time and proclaim: One Savior, One
Body, One Mission, One Ministry. I am excited to see all of us together
worshipping God as a unified body in Christ. I look forward to many of you
meeting each other for the first time. I look forward to hearing all our voices joined
together in singing the praises of God. Sunday June 11th will also be a day of
adjusting. You will see people that you may assume are new to the church. I hope
you will take time to meet them and you may discover they have been coming to the
8:45 or the 11:00 service for quite some time. Bill Hybel wrote a book and
evangelism study called “Walk across the Room”. I pray you will take his advice
and walk across the room on June 11th and meet someone new. Take a moment to
introduce yourself to someone new. Even if they have been coming for years, if
you don’t know them then they are new to you. Take the opportunity to walk
across the room and meet someone new.
While this is a big change and something completely new in the long and wonderful
history of Rogersville U.M.C., it is still secondary to what we are called to do. We
are here to share the good news that God restored the broken lives of His children
through Jesus Christ. Did you know on an average Sunday, less than 17% of people
attend church? There are so many who need Christ, hope and love in their lives. I
pray everyone joins together and becomes, or remains, part of the One Body
sharing the good news of Christ with people in Lauderdale and Limestone Co. The
world is hurting; this county, this town are hurting, and Christ is the answer to that
pain. We, the people called Christian, are called to speak into that hurt as one voice
for the one Savior and offer hope to those in pain. Come and join us speak into that
pain, speak into our own pain and offer hope in the One Savior.
One Savior, One Body, One Mission, One Ministry:
Robert

A new ministry of Rogersville United Methodist Church. This ministry is designed to
help young ladies become the women God has called them to be. We will do this by
providing spiritual guidance, mentoring, and training sessions in a wide array of professional areas and
clothing to help them with a professional appearance.
There will be a multitude of areas that will need volunteers i.e. clothes closet (Amy’s Attic), training to write
resumes, use computers, interview skills and other skills needed to succeed in todays workplace.
Are you interested in volunteering?
Join us on June 12th at 6:00 p.m. in room 102 for our first meeting.
The Administrative Board would like to welcome its two newest members, Lisa Rich and
Kerry Moody. Lisa is the representative for the new ministry, “Becoming”, and Kerry is the
new Vice Chair.
