In 2013, the mission team to Africa distributed prescription eyeglasses, reading glasses and sunglasses to hundreds of people in two villages in Tanzania. Hearts were warmed and praises lifted as many adults could now thread a needle, cut their fingernails, read a book and see the beauty of their land. Also, the distribution of many personal items were received as precious gifts bringing smiles of gratitude. During the next several months we will be collecting all types of eyeglasses, wash cloths, small soaps, toothbrushes, socks, knit caps, wide head bands that will cover ears, mirrors, kerchiefs, ear muffs, Mardi Gras beads, small nail polish, pens, pencils, and neck scarves. These will be taken to Africa by the team which leaves May 29. Please donate what you can to this important endeavor. Collection boxes will be located in the Library foyer, the Activities Center and the Dining Hall foyer.

you gave me something to drink, I was a stranger and you invited me in,

I needed clothes and you clothed me, I was sick and you looked after me, I was in prison and you came to visit

me. Matthew 25:35-36 (NIV)
