Sometimes the server will toss the ball too high and as he swings he com- pletely misses the ball. Swoosh! Other times the server will hit a perfect serve to his opponent and the ball lands in the court before he can return it. Ace! Many times we are like the tennis player when it comes to serving God and others. There are always opportu- nities to serve tossed our way. How will we respond to them? Will we continually just sit at the table or will we get up and serve? I love serving and helping others to serve. Recently, our association had the opportunity to serve others. As you'll see in the pictures that follow this article, we worked on several roofs and did some rebuild in North Carolina. The roof jobs were both at S2L, Spring To Life Recovery. We helped those who serve young men in recovery from drugs and alcohol. Then, several from our association returned to the area devastated by Hurri- cane Florence over a year ago. On this particular trip, we served the Jones family by finishing several jobs at their home. When we left, they were ready to move back into their home after waiting over 14 months for their home to be repaired. These are just a few of the opportunities that our association has offered up to help you serve. If you missed out, keep an eye and ear to coming opportunities for you to serve. Remember, the ball is in your court. Will you make one big Swoosh! and miss out on serving? Or, will you take the opportunity to make an ACE! We used to sing the hymn by B. B. McKinney, "Serve the Lord with Gladness." Let me encourage you with the last line: "We gladly serve Him, His great love proclaim." It's your serve, Kirk

Many times we are like the tennis player when it comes to serving God and others. There are always opportu-nities to serve tossed our way.

Then, several from our association returned to the area devastated by Hurri-cane Florence over a year ago. On this particular trip, we served the Jones family by finishing several jobs at their home. Remember, the ball is in your court. Will you make one big Swoosh! and miss out on serving? Or, will you take the opportunity to make an ACE!

We used to sing the hymn by B. B. McKinney, "Serve the Lord with Gladness." Let me encourage you with the last line: "We gladly serve Him, His great love proclaim."

It's your serve,

Christmas Peace

How is it with you? When you lay your head upon the pillow Christmas night, will you

have peace with God? Perhaps down deep you may experience a guilty conscience, and

satan will be telling you everything is fine; after all, nobody’s perfect. This is like cer-

tain ones in the Bible who said, “Peace, peace,” when there was no peace (Jeremiah

6:14). No counterfeit peace will take care of guilt. We are all dead in trespasses and sins

and have all done wrong. That is what brings guilt to our conscience and robs us of

peace with God.

But there is a remedy for this problem. In the same chapter we read that even

though we once were far away from God, we can be “made nigh by the blood of

Christ” (Ephesians 2:13). How can we apply this to ourselves? Romans 5:1 says,

“Therefore being justified by faith, we have peace with God through our Lord Jesus

Christ.” Faith is believing and doing what God says. One important thing is to admit

that we have sinned. “If we confess our sins, He is faithful and just to forgive us our

sins, and to cleanse us from all unrighteousness” (1 John 1:9). Thank God, the guilt of

sin can be removed from us, and we can experience true peace with God.

Maybe you have been a Christian for a long time, but you discover that your

peace with God has been lost. Then you need to search your heart to find the problem.

Do you have a secret attitude of bitterness? Is there an unforgiving spirit or some hid-

den sin? If we are willing to follow God’s remedy for any sin, we can be assured of

finding true peace with God.

Let’s all remember that true peace comes only from God. God loved you so much

He gave His only son for you! Jesus is not waiting for you to play your best drum for

him; He’s waiting for you to accept Him into your heart so that you may know the real

peace of Christmas this year!

If you are in need of counsel, please contact 931-787-9033. Have a merry Christ-

mas!

“Need it be said why the week before Christmas is chosen? Is not the festive season, when families and friends ex-

change gifts in memory of The Gift laid on the altar of the world for the redemption of the human race, the most

appropriate time to consecrate a portion from abounding riches and scant poverty to send forth the good tidings of

great joy into all the earth?” Lottie Moon

Merry Christmas to our IMB Missionaries

2020 WMU Missions Emphasis Meetings

► MARCH 12TH.

► JULY 16TH, @ FIRST BAPTIST CHURCH FAIR-FIELD GLADE– 130 Town Centre Way, Fairfield Glade, TN 38571

► NOVEMBER 19TH.

MEETINGS START AT 6:00 PM…

ALL MEETINGS ARE 60/65-EAT MEETINGS- [last no longer than 60/65 minutes, then we EAT.] MEN, WOMEN & CHILDREN ARE WELCOME..

The long awaited and much anticipated Fall Mission Emphasis meet-

ing was one for the record books. We had over 70 attendees, that

braved the rain, wind, cold and fog! We had a delicious meal with

choices of soups and sandwiches and oh so many desserts to choose

from. So why was it one for the books? First, we had the meeting

and the meal in a beautifully decorated meeting hall. I ask Brother

David Mahan if we could hold the meeting in one building and it

worked perfectly. Once everyone was inside we did not have to

transfer from one building to the other. We had the meal, the meet-

ing , and the WorldCrafts market place as well as the food drop off

all in one building. It worked perfectly and may be a new a concept

to adopt at our future meetings-at the very least it is something to

consider. Our speaker, Linda Cooper did an amazing job and gave us

some great ideas on how to share the gift of kindness. The offering

was $401.00, the most ever!!! You brought in 85 jars/cans of pasta

sauce, 84 boxes/bags pasta, 65 jars of peanut butter. Yes, what a

meeting; I knew it would be great-but it exceeded all my expecta-

tions. Thank you to everyone that braved the weather and came to

support the meeting.

“what a meeting; I knew it would be great-but…”
