Rutledge is a rered Episcopal priest. Well into her 70s, her book is a lifeme of reflecons on the cross. I’m finding the experience to be worshipful. This is the best book on the cross I’ve read since I read John Sto’s book, The Cross of Christ, more than 20 years ago. Rutledge’s scope is deep and wide, and she covers Scripture with clarity and power. If you are looking for a deep read that will challenge you to think, I recommend her book. This is the only book I’ve ever read where the introducon was worth the price of the book. I commend it to you. In case you weren’t here on Sunday, I announced that we have paid our remaining debt down to a balance of $843,000. With the more than 200k we set aside to pay the debt when receipts didn’t match payments, we actually owe about $600,000. You have been faithfully generous across the years. Since 2000, we’ve built a Family Life Center (4.2 mill). We’ve built a sanctuary (11.4 mill). And we’ve bought and built addional parking (2 mill). God is using the ministry that goes on in these facilies to reach people and to minister the gospel across the world in numerous ways. And now we owe less than one million. Re- markable. A God-thing. Thank you. Praise God. And let’s finish this off this year. We’re back to the cross again on Sunday. As we connue our series, Cross Words, we’ll consider Jesus’ fiſth word from the cross: “I thirst.” Doesn’t sound like much on the surface. Let’s plumb its depths on Sunday. See you then. BUDGET REPORT Education / Outreach Ministry

We need four people to do Safety Team on Golf Carts on Wednesday nights. Maybe you could do the 4-6pm time or the 6-8pm time. Let me or Brad Phillips or Bobby King know ASAP!

We have a need for Teachers and Core Group people to help start some new Connect Groups. Would EVERYONE pray for these please? We need to start a: Nearly and Newly Wed Group at 9:00 a.m. Singles Group at 10:30 a.m. Singles Group for 25-35 at 9:00 a.m. Restart a College & Young 20’s Group at 9:00 a.m. We still need core group people for our new 10:30 a.m. Young Adult Group. If you are interested in the possibility of serving in these Con-nect Groups, please contact Danny.

Connect Groups help you: ➢ Connect with God! ➢ Connect with Each Other! ➢ Connect with New People!

Directories and Guides are available at Welcome Cen-ters to help you find a good fit! Thanks to all who participated. Let me know if you want access to RightNow Media for their full library. Email me. And special thanks to all our staff for helping in so many ways! We had a great experience and got lots of encour-agement and motivation to see our work as worship!

Recently a 90-year-old lady was seen having to walk from the far Northwest Fitness Trail parking lot. Another senior adult lady with a prosthetic leg was not able to park in a handicapped space on the side of the building she wanted to go in because a healthy, young person parked in the last handicapped spot there. So, let’s respect those spots please. Even if you have a handicapped license or hanger, don’t use it if you don’t have to please. And for everyone to know, we have added handicapped parking on all 3 sides of the building. And if you can’t find one or need a closer spot, ask a Safety Team guy with an orange vest, who can radio the others to help find one. Or they can get a golf cart driver to come give a ride. I’m also appreciative of our deacons and many others who intentionally park in the lots farther away so guests and those who need them, may have a closer spot.

    Love, Danny
