Willing Hearts. Many of you turned in your pledge cards last Sun- day, and several of you told me that while you didn’t turn yours in, you would gladly and gener- ously give towards the $150,000.00 we are trying to raise to pur- chase a piece of prop- erty. We can trust God to guide our every step and to provide for the needs that we have through the generous gifts of his people. I am personally ex- cited to see what God has in store for us. Over the years, God has shown us both his guid- ance and his provision. Even recently, God has generously provided for the air-conditioning needs for our preschool and the Fellowship Hall, and for the needs of our team going to the MSV (Mindanao Strategic Vi- sion) Conference in southern Philippines. Your willingness and generosity were God’s means to supply these needs. In Exodus 35, when Moses was giving the Jewish people instruc- tions on building the tab- ernacle, he said, Everyone who is willing to bring to the LORD an offering…” (v. 5) everyone who was will- ing and whose heart moved him came and brought an offering to the LORD for the work…” (v. 21) “All who were willing, men and women alike, came and brought…” (v. 22) “Those presenting an of- fering of silver or bronze brought it as an offering to the LORD…” (v. 24) “And all the women who were willing…” (v. 26) All the Israelite men and women who were willing brought to the LORD freewill offerings for all the work the LORD Continued on page 3 Mark Your April Calendar: 17THFOCUS ON THE CROSS 17THCLT MTG. 4PM 21STCROCKETT OUTREACH LUNCH 22NDOFFICE CLOSED 24THRESURRECTION SUNDAY MFUGE FUNDRAISER PRAY AND PLAY AWANA CLUBS 2 WILLING HEARTS 3 MENS BREAKFAST & WORKDAY LOOKING AHEAD SUNDAY EVENING 4 MINISTRIES 5 Inside this issue: April 13, 2011 Volume 1, issue 7 COLLEGE HILLS BAPTIST CHURCH, SAN ANGELO TX the Messenger the Messenger Willing Hearts...

through Moses had com-manded them to do” (v. 29) “… and every skilled person to whom the LORD had given ability and who was willing to come and do the work” (36:2) So what was the re-sult of God’s provision through the willing hearts of his people? “The peo-ple continued to bring freewill offerings morning after morning. So all the skilled craftsmen who were doing all the work on the sanctuary left their work and said to Moses, „The people are bringing

more than enough for do-ing the work the LORD commanded to be done.‟ “Then Moses gave an order and they sent this word throughout the camp: „No man or woman is to make anything else as an offering for the sanctuary.‟ And so the people were restrained from bringing more, be-cause what they already had was more than enough to do all the work.” (Exodus 36:3b-7) Moses told them to STOP giving! I always thought that it would be so neat to be able to tell our church to stop giving for something, but never really thought it would happen. Until we began to see what the Holy Spirit was doing in south-

ern Philippines. With the needs of the whole mis-sion team plus the needs of the frontliners more than sufficiently provided for one year, I had to get up in front of the church and say, “You can stop giving!” The same God who supplied the needs for the tabernacle through the willing hearts of his people was the same God who has provided for our needs in the past through your willing hearts. And he still wants to do the same through you today as we move forward.
