The Feudal Hierarchy

 

Directions

• King and Queen—sit and smile

• Serfs-get to work making food, tied to the desks

• Lords: kneel before the king and say:

• “Oh powerful monarch, I humbly request land.”

• Knights: watch your lord do this

• King—give the lord the land

continuing

• Lord go to your manor and sit on it

• Demand payments from your serfs:

• “I have allowed you to live on this land and farm it. In exchange, you must give me a large portion of the goods you produce. Give me 3 food tokens now.”

Knights!

• Go to the lord and offer this:

• “In exchange for the goods and land given me, I promise to be loyal to you and to fight in your defense.”

• Serfs-keep making food!

• Lord—pay your knights with food tokens

• Don’t worry, the serfs are making more!
