member firms to step andsponsor AGC participation in theevent. Well the committees did anoutstanding on both counts!

When I was approached about AGC's participation in this event, Ithought maybe...just maybe....20 or 25 AGC members would signup. Wrong again! On Saturday, just over 150 AGC membersparticipated....which was by far the largest group from any singleorganization (over 3,000 participants). We were quite the "battalion"with our matching AGC Boot Camp t-shirts, designed by AGCStaff Jessica Kovack. We would like to thank the 35 companies who participated: Baker Electric, Inc.; Balfour Beatty; BOLO3 Safety & SurvivalConsulting; BPI Plumbing; C & S Companies; CoxConstruction Co.; Erickson-Hall Construction Co.; GouldElectric; JP Jonas & Associates, Inc.; Jackson & Blanc; KRWolfe; Kevcon, Inc.; Kugan & Associates, LLC; Laborers'Union Local 89; Marathon Construction Corp; Marks, Finch,Thornton & Baird, LLP; Old Roll, Inc,; On-Site Health & Safety;Orion Construction Corp.; PRAVA Construction; R.J. Our AGC members ran the 3 mile course, climbed the walls, crawled under the obstacles and enthusiastically responded "SIR,YES SIR!" when a DI "suggested" they "drop" and do 10 or 20

San Diego City Council Race Neck andNeck...Please Attend Construction IndustryFundraiser for Ray Ellis on October 23! Last month, we were scheduled to hold a construction industryfundraiser for San Diego City Council District 1 candidate, RayEllis, but due to some scheduling conflicts we had to move thedate. It is now scheduled for Tuesday, October 23, from 5:00 to7:00 PM at Coffman Specialties. Click here to register. Recent polls show that the race between Ray Ellis andCity Councilmember Sherri Lightner is neck and neck! That is very encouraging, as history shows it is difficult to unseatan incumbent San Diego City Councilmember. Ray Ellis must be doing something right to be this close to victory(voters are taking notice!), but he does need help to get hismessage out. You can help by attending the fundraiser on October23. Food and refreshments will be provided.
