MBA is a general business program. You take a lot of required coursework credits in all

functional areas of business administration. You then take a few, typically 3-5 courses, in your

specialization area like finance, marketing, or management. You then earn an “MBA (…)” degree.

MS, MSc or MA is a specialized program. You take all coursework credits related to one

specialization area (plus other related areas) like finance or marketing.

You take no course in other functional areas of business administration. You then earn an “MS (…)” or “MA (…)” degree.

The MM program at CMMU takes the middle-road approach. You take 5 Core Courses in some main functional

areas of business administration: Marketing, Finance, MIS, Economics, and Principles of Management.

You then take 8 more courses in your area of specialization. You then earn an “MM (…)” degree in your transcript. Your diploma will show only an “MM” degree, however.
