advertisement concerning Meatloaf’s album Bat out of Hell 2. The documentary is a mixed

type of documentary.

The documentary involves a closed narrative structure which is non-linear and single strand. However the documentary also includes a circular narrative in which the starting point on the documentary is also the ending point of the documentary.

There are wide ranges of camera work used in the documentary. The conventional framing for interviews is used for each interview. Hand held camera work is also used to add variety to the documentary. Tracking and panning shots used. There is one interview filmed in profile however the interview looks very wrong. Also press POV shots used.

The use of Chromakey was this documents mise en scene using green screen behind interviews

showing archive footage connecting to the interview.

Meatloaf’s music was the main source of

sound for this document excluding the voiceover

where a young, male voice speaking

standard English however he was

sarcastic adding a lighter tone to the voice

over.

The editing for the documentary was

mainly cuts however some fade to blacks

were used and some dissolves on

certain images. Fast and slow motion

were also used at different points in the documentary.

Tons of different archive material was used

including scenes from different TV shows and news broadcasts, music

videos from Meatloaf and also the Village

People and Mr Blobby, CD covers, Behind the scenes and computer

websites.

Graphics used for the names of interviewees which includes the TV shows logo at the side ‘The Music Biz’. Names are in capital letters on the first line which also includes what they work as and on the second line it

includes where they work. Font is just plain white with a slightly grey back ground to emphasize the white.
