Going Camping By Hailey Melton

You’ll never guess what I did. I went to Lizard Creek Campground. It was so much fun! We went with our whole family.{Sky,Mom,Dad,Riley and me].

First, we got there.”That was a long drive”.When we got there we brought everything inside to the cabin. We bought a trailer to keep stuff in while we traveled because it rained all the way there. So we could not put it in the back of the truck otherwise everything would get wet. Another reason why we went with a trailer is because on the way there we had to go to a show that my dad was in and we had to bring an engine. Since he was the boss he had to go to the show and because his business is about engines.

After that,we started cooking our dinner on the fire. It was as good as eating candy. It was so much fun!!!!!!!! We rode our bikes to the park next door to the cabin.

A little later,I figured out that there was a mini kitchen, bunk beds,a queen bed,and a couch. It was so warm and cozy and I was so happy. We bought sleeping bags because of how many people go in the cabin. It was so much fun to test the bunk beds!!!! We played all kinds of games and we brought all kinds of s'mores, hersheys, marshmallows and all kinds of different foods you can cook on the fire.

Finally, it got late and we all had to go to bed. It was a fun day. Then we woke up and got all ready to have the next fun day. I loved going camping/glamping. Do you like going camping or did you ever go camping?

So that was are fun day going camping.Do you like going camping.I felt sad that we had to leave but also happy to go to our nice cozy house.

Mousey and Mouser

By Natalie Zelins

For the mice that used to live in our basement and Gabriella who gave me the idea to write.

Hi! I’m a mouse. My name’s Mousey. Now, before you say I’m disgusting and everything, I’m really not. I just come in your house because I need a shelter and food.

One day Mouser, my friend, and I were walking along when we saw a little house. Perfect! We won’t even need our winter store. Yay! Awesome! So we found an entrance and went in. We stayed

there for ten days before somebody came in and took some of our food. As soon as they were gone, we found some more food. They took our food just a few days ago when this thing caught my eye. “Wow!” I

said to Mouser. “Look at that!”

“Cool,” he said and climbed on it. This loud beeping noise started and cars pulled up in the driveway.

“What’s going on?” I asked.

“I don’t know.”

A few minutes later, two more cars pulled up. Then some people came inside with these worried looks on their faces. They come, they look around, they leave. I will never touch one of those

things again! Never ever!

One or two days later, this man came back. He put a few things down and left. I saw food! Mouser crawled in one and oh no! He was stuck! Now I know better not to go in one but the food

looked so good. Finally, I couldn’t help myself. “Oh, what will this man do to us?” A few minutes later he came back! The next thing I knew there were four faces staring at me! How rude! When they

stopped staring the guy put me in a bucket and Mouser was there! I told him, “Well, at least we know where our food is.”

A little bit later he came back, put us in a car, and started driving. He drove us very far. Finally, he stopped. We were at a tree farm. He unloaded us and set us free!

After five days I saw a little hole. “Bingo!” I cried.

“What?” said Mouser.

“I just found a bunch of food!”

“Cool.”

Just then, a huge bird swooped down! “Run!” I screamed. Unfortunately, Mouser didn’t hear me. The giant bird caught him and flew away. I sniffed. I snuffled. He was gone.

“Hey,” said a voice. “What’s wrong?”

I spun around. There was a mouse. “Hi. My best friend just got eaten by a bird. I’m Mousey.”

“Oh! I’m so sorry. I’m Sniffer.”

We spent a lot of time together and then one day there was a knock at the door. “I’ll get it,” I said and my aunts, uncles, brothers, sisters, and more poured in. I introduced them and told them

about Sniffer and Mouser.

“How sad,” said my cousin Squeaks.

Then I asked, “How long are you staying?”

They replied, “For the rest of the day.” And so they did. We played games, talked, and sang songs!

Once my family left, Sniffer and I played some chess. I was just about to checkmate him when the farmer saw us. The farmer grabbed Sniffer. Oh no! I wasn’t about to lose another friend. I squeaked at

him and then bit him. “Ouch!” screamed the farmer. When I bit him, it made him drop Sniffer and we scurried off to safety.

Well, goodbye and I’ll see you next time on another adventure of Mousey and Mouser.

Skyler MeltonMovie reviewPaddington

I give this movie a spot on five stars. This is one of my favorite Movies EVER! I love this movie because it is like a mystery movie and Paddington has to solve a mystery. This time he is not the only one solving the mystery but, his family is helping him while he is in a lot of trouble. In this movie there is a bad guy and paddington is trying to find the bad guy but he ends up going to jail! Finally at the end of the movie the family helps Paddington find the bad guy, there is just a LOT of effort put into getting the mystery bad guy caught. If you have not already seen the movie, YOU SHOULD!

The Story behind HalloweenBy: Madeline Dileo

Ever heard of the story behind Christmas, and Easter, and Thanksgiving. But what about Halloween. Well your about to find out, Halloween is a old holiday originated at the celtic festival at Samhain, When people would wear costumes and light bonfires to chase away evil spirits. In the eighth century, Pope Gregory III designated November 1 as a time to honor all saints; soon, All Saints Day incorporated some of the traditions of Samhain. The evening before was known as All Hallows Eve as it’s first original name but now changed to, Halloween. Over time, Halloween evolved into a day of activities like trick-or-treating, carving jack-o-lanterns, festive gatherings, donning costumes and eating sweet treats. The Celts lived 2,000 years ago,in the area that is now Ireland, the United Kingdom and northern France, celebrated their new year on November 1. This day is marked for the end of summer and the start of fall a time where people got sick and some even died. The Celts believed that on the night before the new year, the boundary between the worlds of the living and the dead became blurred. On the night of October 31 they celebrated Samhain, when it was believed that the ghosts of the dead returned to earth. But no need to fear it’s not just bad ghosts it’s good ghosts to.

Down syndrome3 grade kyleigh clemens

My sister has down syndrome it is a type of disability.Down syndrome is a learning disability, it affects how fast she learns. So in other words she learns slower than others. Even though Kaylynn my sister has a disability she is still so so smart. She also needs more help than others do. I do flashcards with her and she loves playing school. Sometimes Kaylynn shocks me with how smart she is and I forget she has a disability. There are also some health issue like a hole in the heart. My sister had to get open heart surgery. I was only 3 so i did not know what was going on. Then when I was older my mom told me what happened with Kaylynn but it did not matter she was my sister no matter what. Some people just look and stare and run away I get so angry I could cry or yell but i remember I have to teach my sister to stay strong so i just go over and talk with the people looking at Kaylynn like that and tell them she has down syndrome they understand and play with Kaylynn it makes my heart happy. THE END!

Title of Submission: Save the TurtlesWritten by: Lilyana M.Grade: 5th

4,600 Turtles die every day from… PLASTIC STRAWS If you guessed that well guess what ding ding you are right. The ecosystem has abiotic and biotic if one type of biotic dies some of the abiotic can die. So basically if Sea Turtles die the sand won't be as healthy because all the nutrients from the eggs that they lay on the beach makes the sand healthy and if Sea Turtles go extinct the sand won't be healthy. Also, turtles are so cool looking and cute. We don’t want an animal that does no harm to this world to die do we? All I'm saying is STOP using PLASTIC STRAWS you can use silicone or metal they don’t kill Sea Turtles. Save the turtles is what I am asking for.

abiotic- physical rather than biological; not derived from living organisms.biotic-relating to or resulting from living things, especially in their ecological relations.
