The Making of

Transcript of The Making of Hansel and Gretel

Initial Source

Initial source this project is adapted from is the

Gingerbread house from the fairy tale Hansel and Gretel.

Adaptation Influences

To turn the Gingerbread house into something new I adapted the concept to fit

with the story of my Grandmother’s experience as a Evacuee during WW2 where

she was sent to live in the woods with a woman she refers to as a witch. Influencing

the designs from Rationed items and propaganda posters.

Sketches

I looked at using WW2 weaponry

and vehicles into the shapes making

up the house.

Witch’s Cottage Design

I looked at using colours from Propaganda posters to make

the design feel like it fits into 1940’s design.
