Chapter Six

Divine repositioning Part One

Luke 1: 28

And the angel came in unto her, and said, hail, thou that are highly favored, the Lord is with thee BLESSED ART THOU AMONG WOMEN

Your position (here & now)

Every individual whether consciously or unconsciously, by design or accident occupy a peculiar, strategic and vantage position in life and on earth.

A position by location, will either put you at advantage or disadvantage, will give you either a clearer vision or narrower vision or blurred one. You are tied to such position and such position is tied to your life. This position can be by location, status, inheritance profession, position by acceptance or forced onyou, by volition or circumstances. The question is what or where are you positioned? Will this position locate or dislocate you? Is this position advancing your destiny or destroying it.

Position by inheritance/birth

Acts 3:2

And a certain man lame from his mother’s womb was carried, whom they laid daily at the gate of the temple which is called Beautiful, to ask alms of them that entered into the temple.

Where are you placed or positioned by birth or inheritance? What did you inherit that is today ruling, controlling, or determining the course of your living? Is the family history saying is diabetes, sickle cell anemia, abnormal or strange behaviors, phobia traits or genetic aberration. Is every body in the family is prone to hot temper or losing temper that will always result in regrets? drop outs, unusual occurrences? cycles of poverty and failures? Etc. This man in Acts 3:2 was born lame from birth. Is Lameness his birth right? He was placed outside the temple at the beautiful gate. There was nothing beautiful about his life anyway. He stayed outside the temple until his life was repositioned by the commanding faith of Peter and John and the compelling faith of this disadvantaged man. There is divine repositioning

Also in Acts 14: 8 another man was born a cripple. God didn’t create him that way but somehow something interfered and passed on such fate to him. Is you language like, “I was born with it?” Yes, but you don’t have the birthright to live with it. Your background, your up-bringing, your fate – low esteem, hard luck and the like. No matter your position there is a God of divine repositioning

A right positioning and plugging in of a compelling faith in the truth of the Word will provoke the force of a commanding faith that will unplug the negative fate you acquired by inheritance or otherwise in the world

Position by status

2 King 5:1

Naaman … was a great man with his master (employer) and honorable, because by him the Lord has given deliverance unto Syria: he was also a mighty man of Valor, but he was a LEPER.

Naaman was great and honorable, a deliverer but couldn’t deliver himself. A mighty man of valor. What a credential? But his life was punctuated by leprosy. A play of honor and dishonor. Now his problem may not be by his status or position. Is your status attached to a thorn in your flesh? Your position or elevation in your profession, does it run concurrently with a compatible problem. You attain this level, your encounter this problem. At another elevation another bigger problem of a different magnitude. It is just like it comes in through this way and goes out through the other. You gain here and lose unequal measure there. Rise and fall, gain and loss running parallel and concurrently in your life. Your position or status should not be a curse to you in Jesus Name. Have you seen someone resign a lucrative job for one genuine reason or the other when conflicts arise. I don’t know how many “commas” are tied to your position but for Naaman thank God he repositioned

himself to experience divine breakthrough which his wealth could not give him. Don’t cover up your sore with your wealth. Your wealth has limitations. At the Limit the sore will embarrassing by surface.

Position by a curse/manipulation

2 Kings 5:27

The leprosy therefore of Naaman shall cleave unto thee, and unto thy seed forever. And he went out of his presence a Leper as white as snow.

You see what greed has caused even the unborn generations of Gehazi. There is always a reason for a curse to abide. The curse causeless shall not come (Prov. 26:2) People are also manipulated into positions or manipulated out of position, where you are now, how did you get there? By design or by error? By witchcraft or divine enablement, by merit or maneuver? For Gehazi and people like him they can reposition themselves in repentance and correct the anomaly

…… but the Lord thy God turned the curse into a blessing unto thee…. (Deut. 23:5B)

Position by race, tribe, or complexion

Acts 21:39

….I am a man which am a Jew of Tarsus, a city in Cilicia, a citizen of no mean city…. Suffer me to speak unto the People.

Your race, tribe, complexion or even language can place you into a position. White or black, low class or high class etc. Your being heard in society can be tied to your tribe or race or complexion. Looking into the world as a whole you’ll see these features play a part in shaping people’s destinies.

Paul was denied audience and telling themwhere he came from, that is his race or tribe opened the way.

Some people are born to rule and they call them royal family. That is to say others are born to be ruled. Some people can enter some places not because they earned it but because of their color or race or name or language. A lot of imbalance created in the system. From beginning God did not make them so. God didn’t create the imbalance but human wickedness did but then you can reposition yourself. Don’t say I am born with it or let the status a quo be.

Position by association

Relationships and associations can impact on one’s life positively or negatively. I was approached by a sister about another sister who got tied up with a sister that she found it difficult to live life without that sister. Soul-tie! Her association with this sister began and developed to the point that two of them started living as if they were twins. It got to the point and position that when one of them died this other sister nearly died. It took a long time to separate her life from the dead sister. Now she relocated to another city and was attending another church. Here again she said she felt lonely as no brother or sister associated with her. Then it happened that someone greeted her cordially and a certain force began to obsess her. Another strong hunger or tie began to grow inside her for this second person. It got so disturbing and I was approached for advice. Association sometimes can position and align one’s life along a continuum to a dangerous point devoid of freedom of conscience, freedom of thought or reasoning. The bible talks of yoke, yoke-fellows. Some people by association have been positioned to carry and live under another person’s deserving yoke or curse perpetually. They have entered into a placement but there’s divine replacement by divine repositioning

Position by circumstance or environment

In some environment or community you discover everybody have developed a particular character or behavior or life style -. an-everybody-behavior-traits syndrome kind of. They are positioned into a pattern of living by dint of their living there. Also circumstance can give someone a permanent seat or controlling position. Have you seen some people in a particular environment being branded a general kind of name though from different background, status, profession but they seem to flow along together?

I was invited to help handle a very strong case of crisis, mental trouble of someone both spiritually and physically. In the course of our discussion the wife seems to begin to have insight and revealed that they have lived there for about twenty years or so and she tried to link the problems to this. A lot of prayers, fasting, deliverance and yet things grew worst. She and her family have been positioned in this place to suffer such trouble. There is power in divine repositioning. They just needed to reposition themselves both spiritually and/or physically to change their situation.

Three kinds of people to any problem situation

In every problem, society, time or season there are

-Those that have problems (Problem carriers or bearers)

-Those that create problems (Problem creators/Trouble makers/Shooters)

-Those who solve problems (Problem Solvers/Trouble Killers)

The story of David and Israeli war (1 Sam 17)

Every accidental or designed Goliath that the enemy throws into your life will provoke the stand-by David that God has planted in you.

David was not in the war design of Saul for Gods people but God created a David opportunity. God creates in-built

safety valves in our lives. In every problem locate them in your life. The way out in this case Saul and the Israelites here are the problem bearers, the Philistine and Goliath were the problem creators or trouble shooters and David was the Problem Solver.

David locators

David is a type of Christ. David is the Hebrew for “beloved.” He is alert, ingenious, honorable and graceful by his name.

In every problem locate your God-given or God-sent David. Don’t drive away or despise your God-sent Davids.

For forty days this problem or problem creator called Goliath insulted, ridiculed and challenged the problem bearers, the rank and file of Israel. Forty is a number of probation, separation and judgment in the Scriptures. Christ fasted forty days (Matt. 4:2), The fore fathers proved Gods work for 40 years (Heb. 3: 9, 17), Israel ate manner 40 years (Ex. 16: 35) Israel wandered in the wilderness for 40 years (Num. 14: 33), 40 stripes of the cane for the wicked as punishment (Deut. 25: 1-3), the flood was linked to forty days (Gen. 8:6) and Moses fasted forty days and forty nights. Why 40?

Probation involves testing, before approval or rejection.

Probation-carrying Problem: Every Problem has expiry date and will pass the probation period. This is normal. Don’t make it abnormal.

Separational Problems: Some problems can separate you, mark you out or in, make you strong or weak, and set a demarcation between you and failure.

Judgmental problems: After judgment comes reward or punishment. Classify your problems – Have they come to lift you or kill you. Reposition yourself for cleaver vision.

The case of Naaman (2 Kings 5)

Again in every problem locate the problem bearer, the problem creator and problem solver. A circumstance, a position or person can create a problem.One in a personal problem can occupy the three positions. You can be your own problem creator, so stop looking elsewhere.

Here Naaman was the burden carrier, Gehazi and the cause of Naaman’s leprosy were the problem creators and Elisha and the little kid who told Naaman of a Prophet in Israel were the problem killers.

In a problem situation, one person can occupy the three positions. You can be carrying a problem and at the same time be the one that created it and will be the same person to correct the normally.

Problem present or create opportunities

Locate a positive and viable God given opportunities and grab them. The problem of sin created the opportunity of a savior and salvation. The problem of sicknesses and diseases created the opportunity of divine healing and health. The Problem of famine/lack/scarcity/economic meltdown will create the opportunity of divine supply and resuscitation. Failure will present opportunity of success. Just grab it. David grabbed the opportunity of Goliath’s terror to catapult himself to stardom and save the people. He saw life and hope where all including Saul saw hopelessness and death. Opportunity to live or die. The two sides or double face of problems. Pain and pleasure. Arise and shine.

) Divine repositioning Part 2 (there and then

Divine repositioning involves divine readjustment

Readjustment, Realignment, Readjustment involves correcting an earlier error. Divine imply that there are things that only God can do, that is beyond man’s capacity and capability. I don’t know what your position has been. Aligning the forces of God or his infinite word will enforce

a positive readjustment. This involves considering the ‘If’s’ of the bible. Every “If” in the bible is attached to a condition or promise or reward. “If” is conditional, creates a choice condition that delivers a double alternative or opposing conditions - alternative or opposing conditions original or alternative, positive or negative, gain or loss, pass or fail, here or there.

Let us look at these conditional statements made by Christ;

….If thou canst believe all things are possible… (Mk 9: 23)

…If ye have faith… nothing shall be impossible (Matt. 17: 20)

…whosoever shall say unto this mountain…

…follow me and I will make you fishers of men (Matt. 4:19)

Now it is just like saying, “do your part and I will do my part”. Activity triggers response kind of operation. If we qualify it, right activity or action will draw out right kind of response. “Believe”, “faith”, “say” and “follow me” are all elements of realignment and readjustment. So in divine repositioning there is a God side and man side. The part of man precedes that of God. It seems God does nothing without first adjusting the conditions to match His thoughts. God is not democratic neither is he autocratic. He does not impose himself on us because He said I have set before you life and death. God of choice.

Repositioning by divine replacement

Acts 1: 20B, 25

……and his bishopric let another take. That he may take part of this ministry and apostleship, from which Judas by transgression fell, that he might go to his own place

God is a God of placement and replacement, when Judas fell from the grace, God replaced him. “His bishopric (office) let another take” Saul’s rejection evoked his

replacement with David and David’s manifestation (I Sam 16: 1, 12, 13) God replaced Eli with Samuel (1 Sam 3 12, 14, 18-21). God can reposition that your inherited, acquired position by replacement with a divine plan and purpose. Walk close with God to see this happen.

God replaced Abram with Abraham “changed Sarai to Sarah and many others just to prepare them for the purpose and position he wanted them occupy in life. The older replaced or changed condition will not place them in the pedestal God planned for their life and success. What is your name?

Repositioning by divine empowerment

God can reposition you by empowering you. You shall receive power after the Holy Ghost is come upon you and then you shall be…. (Acts 1:8). It takes power to “be.” Power is ability, might, freedom of action, right to act, authority, right of disposal, force, strength, a beginning, rule. Power is powerful. This is the promise of the Father. Have you received the Holy Ghost since you believed? When we allow the Holy Ghost to pilot the affairs of our lives, when we make him the senior or principal partner we will begin to be.

Repositioning and Divine Partakers (2 Peter 1:1-9)

Partakers of divine nature mean a companion, a partner or having in common with God, the divine nature. The Born Again experience is supernatural and transforming. Are you a partaker of the divine nature, the nature of God? Through nature of Him (2 Pet. 1:3), we enter. This is a call of glory and to glory and virtue. Faith-virtue, virtue-knowledge, knowledge-temperance, temperance-patience, patience-godliness, godliness-brotherly kindness, brotherly kindness-charity. When the sum of these twin effects or character abides and dwell in you, then grows in you, you will remain alive in the supernatural. They are the

activating elements that keep you in the divine partakers pathway. By living in the realm of Gods nature you can be repositioned to meet Gods plan and pursuits.

Repositioning by Divine restoration

God promised divine restoration – bringing back the rightful owner, a balancing of account He will restore all the years that the locust has eaten (Joel 2:25). He will restore the joy of your salvation (psalm 51:12). There is the joy of your salvation. Where is the joy of your salvation? This joy that wells up even in the most disturbing of circumstances. There is difference between joy and happiness. God gives joy but food and material things you acquire gives happiness. The joy of the Lord is my strength.The joy of the Lord will make a hungry man not to be an angry man. It is not bought but it is indwelling. This joy can reposition you for divine breakthrough. Have you backslidden or fallen, retrace your steps to the place where you first met the lord. The place of repentance and consecration! The broken covenant can be restored even now beloved if you return and surrender to the Lord.

Repositioning by Divine Leadership and followership

Judges 2:16

Nevertheless the Lord raised up judges, which delivered them out of the hand of those that spoiled them

Ex. 23:23

For mine Angel shall go before thee, and bring them in

Divine leadership and a corresponding followership can reposition the people’s destiny. Israel by what their forefathers did were sold into Egypt. It only took a divine deliverer like Moses, Joshua, the prophets, the priest, angels and the judges to reposition them. A biblical judge was divinely appointed to deliver them as well as occupy a judicial capacity (1 Sam. 7: 15-17, Judges 4:5)

It is a leader-follower relationship and a follower-leader relationship too. Each time Moses misled the people misfollow. Sometimes the people misfollow and Moses loses his head. Any occasion the leader failed the people also failed. The heart and the head must stay together for the same body to coordinate functionality.

Aaron led the people into idolatry by worshipping the golden calf and the people corrupted themselves (Ex. 32:7). Each time the people refuse to follow accordingly they truncate the repositioning process. Both parties have to stay focused to remain on course. This is repositioning by divine discipleship.A disciple is a follower and learner. It is a teacher-learner relationship. The question now is how yielded are we to divine leadership? We are all followers of Christ. We must follow appropriately for him to lead us into the promised land. Christ has proffered the leadership, shall we provide the followership? Every day and everywhere we are provideda leadership opportunity by God so that we can provide a discipleship opportunity. Each time the Spirit leads with an inner voice or witness to lead us may we respond to follow faithfully and accordingly with an internal and external voice.

Introduction

Don’t wait indefinitely for open doors to come, create one yourself or you may die of old age waiting.

Have you watched someone so full of potentials and discover something you felt he or she would have been in life and you find out later he or she did not? A successful footballer? A prolific writer, a potential creative actor, an accomplished academia or scholar, a moving powerful singer or a great leader? It might not be the fault of circumstances beyond his control nor circumstances under his control but his. The “circum-stances” existed at his instance. It is either you describe and circumvent them or they will circumscribe and short-circuit you. A problem can either make you or mar you depend on how you look at it. Never die with this enormous power deposit unutilized. Do something now. Don’t wait anymore if you have waited on the Lord or you will be a tragic tragedy. Have seen taps built that never ran for once? What trees that never gave fruits? What Layers that never laid eggs? What doctor that never doctored a patient nor teacher that never taught or best president that never presided. Waterless wells. Wells without water!

SEARCHING FOR AN IDENTITY

A. Self-Discovery: Self-discovery is learning about self – the process of learning about your true personality and motives (Encarta Dictionaries).It is finding out who you are really as God ordained you to be. Self-details, potentials, abilities and inabilities. What you can give out and what you can take in to affect the world around you. Knowing and understanding

Yourself is a function or key factor to your success in life. Dissect your inner man, your makeup, your weaknesses and strengths, your abilities and inabilities, emotions and psychological strengths. What is inside you that make you unique and the impinging environmental surroundings. Understanding the intricacies and complexities, intrinsic and extrinsic values of your being. Then apply wisdom to defeat and play down your weaknesses and consolidate controls and uphold your strengths for profitable productivity.

Dissect your inner man, your makeup, your weaknesses and strengths, your abilities and inabilities, emotions and psychological strengths. What is inside you that make you unique and the impinging environmental surroundings. Understanding the intricacies and complexities, intrinsic and extrinsic values of your being.Then apply wisdom to defeat and play down your weaknesses and consolidate controls and uphold your strengths for profitable productivity.

The level of your development or success is determined by the level of yourself you know. The quality of yourself you express is determined by the quality of yourself you harness. Discovery and rediscovery of your total self is a pointer to great success. Who are you? Not the identification label called “Names” that you bear but “the you in you that makes you the you, you are”. The seed God

deposited in you that will germinate and you husband it to success. Who are you? Not the academic laurels that stand you out nor the lack of it that identify you at the bottom. Who are you? Not the position, high or low you occupy on your quest for success. Who are you? Not the status you bear as a responsibility. A father, mother or brother? Mr. Johnson (Son of John)? These are only roles that life circumstances placed on you. Who are you? Not the transient temporary inability that mark you out. A cripple, blind or orphan? A poor, less privileged, sickler or disabled? These are just limitations your real self will and can overcome. Who disabled you? You are not disabled for it is only God who can enable or disable. Inability is not disability. Reset yourself to your God-given default value. INABILITY IS NOT DISABILITY. That is where to start. Self-identity is about content not the container that carry the identity. It is about quality contextual value and not a solo island. It is about conception and not just a birth process. Do not define yourself by what you do. A Manager? No, you are not a manager but you work as a manager. A maid? No, you are not a maid but you work as a maid. An accountant? No but you only work now as an accountant. You may have spent your whole life studying to identify yourself. Don’t accept labels the society, circumstances, inabilities, status, situations or position place on you as your true identity. God deposited in you a seed, a future, and a generation. Discover yourself. Only imitators, pretenders, carbon copies compete for relevance, access and acceptability. When you are your God-given self and stuff there will be no superiority or inferiority complex. Self-discovery involves what I termed the 3 C’s – the concept (deposited at conception), the Context (your relationship to your environment), the Content (your worth and what you offer).Don’t add to the reservoir of duplicators, photocopies, maskers, masqueraders, imitators, impostors or pretenders. Be

yourself. There’s self-image. Are you the image (corresponding shadow) of the object (the real) or the object of the visible shadowed image? God is a creator and not an imitator or impostor. Beware of imitation and imitators. He created you original and not a carbon copy or blind carbon copy. Someone said, “You are created original, don’t die a carbon copy”. God created you the default and there is no duplication of who you are. Remove your mask now. Stop pretending or impersonating others and show your real identity. There are pretenders among us. Don’t try to be like another. Someone said, “We were created equally but differently. We complement each other”. Discover Gods deposit in you – the gem, diamond, gold or the treasure island. Working from this starter will remove struggle, contention or competition. Only imitators, pretenders, carbon copies compete for relevance, access and acceptability. When you are your God-given self and stuff there will be no superiority or inferiority complex. God has customized you for a role no other can play because He created you original and unique. In self-discovery we deal with the concept, the context and content of your life. Do not define yourself by what you do. A manager? No, you are not a manager but you work as a manager. A maid? No, you are not a maid but you work as a maid. An accountant? No but you only work now as an accountant

The Concept (inside you - God given): Here is the inside view. Something thought up, formed in the womb, the origin. The original raw deposit and seed It deals with only you. God created, formed, or customized you to a default. The self-concept or self-identity you make of this determines how you fare. Concept is idea, impression, theory, hypothesis, view, belief, and seed in your heart. It is a prototype of a product yet to be released that you were ordained to manifest and project. So discover the “you in you” that makes you unique. For the earth, the people, the

multinationals, the industries, the churches, groans and waits for the manifestation (showing forth) of the Sons of God (Rom. 8:19).

The Context (outside you-your surroundings): Your potentials need a contextual setting to operate in – a background, circumstance, situation, framework, milieu (formal) environment, a perspective. Your identity must be related to the environment to succeed. You need others or partnership to survive. Offer yourself to others to access your work and evaluate your identity. Your identity’s interaction with the right environment processes it to a finished product. Your psyche and emotional know-how (internal) need a technical know-how (external). Your contextual ability is in relation to others, your environment and working tools. You cannot work as a solo Island. The contextual setting brings the inner ideas and concept to bear and embedded into a larger expression. Contextualize. Who disabled you? You are not disabled for it is only God who can enable or disable. Inability is not disability. Reset yourself to your God-given default

The Content (inside and outside-acquired and experienced - your worth and what you want to offer): Content is defined as amount of something in a container, the subject matter (question, discussion, and topics), meaning or message, available information, materials, capacity of a container. Your identity or potentials need to develop relevance, get education, possess content, technical improvement to be relevant to time and the present context. The anointing of yesterday will not do for the work of today. Your identity must develop expression, be fitting and suitable. It must be adaptable and adoptive to the recipients and present receptacles that will need and contain or carry it, i.e. it must be marketable in order to be relevant. To be marketable it must have a worth, a value, cost effectiveness and quantifiable. Self-discovery involves

identifying and implementing these active ingredients (Concept, Context and Content) in your way to success and exploring, exploiting and developing and harnesses them to productivity and profitability. Awaken the sleeping giant in you. Prove the potential leader locked up inside you. Germinate the viable potential seed and grow the seedling in you. Manifest the genius in you. Extract the juicy nectar in you. Sweeten the honey deposit you were born with. Grow the life inside you. Regenerate and maximize your potentials. Keep searching, browsing, probing, questioning your total life and make it relevant to all around you. Keep looking upwards to God (heaven thrust). Keep looking inside you (Inward thrust) and keep looking outward (environmental thrust).Don’t ever stop no matter the pains. Keep moving, and discovering yourself.

B. Concept of Discovering your God-Given Potential Discovering: (not discover or discovery) mean simply “to find out”. Discovering is a continuous process – a continuum. It starts the day you were born and will end the day your body will lie low in the grave. Inside each discovering and recovering is another potential to explore for something new, higher and better.

Yourself: This is the you in you that makes you the you, you are or the me in myself that makes me the me I am. The image (Gr. representation and manifestation) of God, a copy of God reflecting some of His own perfections! God is perfect in knowledge, righteousness, holiness and with dominion over the creatures (Gen 1:26.) You are created to fulfill a purpose .You are born with a promise. You are a child of promise.

God Given Potentials: Potentials are possibilities capabilities, resources of somebody or something that are innate or undeveloped. They are enormous power deposit within. There are truths about your life and future that need to be dug out. They are treasures hidden, out of sight that must be discovered, explored and exploited. God at creation and birth deposited in you, abilities that need to be capabilities, potential that need to be bring prosperity, qualities that need to be qualified and quantified, resources that need to create wealth, talents that need to transform and triumph, challenges that need to create champions, treasures that need to be transferred, hidden thoughts that will be truths, ideas that will idealize to great ideals, feelings waiting to be felt outside, imaginations/images waiting to be masters; pictures/visions that need to inform and transform; proposals waiting to propel you to greatness, deposits that need to multiply with interest and raw statement that need to be mission statements.

Your identity or potentials need to develop relevance, get education, possess content, technical improvement to be relevant to time and the present context. The anointing of yesterday will not do for the work of today. There are potentials in business, education, Ministry, ideas, talents and even the environment. They are like diamonds in the soil. Dig them out. Discover who you are. Discover yourself. Who are you? You must find out. Potentials are untapped resources - talents, open doors, people, places, and possibilities undiscovered, unutilized, unexplored and unexploited. They are your success starter; power source or destiny feeders. Potentials are your embryo/fetus today for your tomorrow’s adult. They are Gods pattern.

Potential Exciters:

Stir up the gift of God in you… 2 Tim 1:6

These are some things inside you that stir you up. Agitators or feelers inside that seem to say, “I have an idea”, “I can do this” etc. They can guide you to who you are. They are like a small generator or transmitter that provides the necessary energy to run a larger device or task. Call it activation energy. Someone during television interview said while he was small and playing football something inside excited him that he can do well playing football a as professional or as a life career and he decided to concentrate on football playing. Today he is a celebrated footballer worldwide. He became the national team captain and a professional team captain and felt fulfilled in life. God-given potentials. What tickles you inside?

Potential Particles: This is what I call the seed of life, the small small bits or components or the integral part of a whole. God put such little things into your life to lead you to the whole, from incomplete to complete, from known to unknown. God-given ideas, thoughts, impression on your heart, imaginations, pictures and even regrets that can transform to something positive, from remorse unto repentance and even non-sense to sense. We can make sense out of non-sense. What do you do with those little little checks, inspirations, prompts, inner deeper feelings and dreams the Holy Spirit gives you from time to time about circumstances and situation in life’s processes. Don’t let that idea die in you for it might be the push you need to go forward, the ladder you need to get to the top or create enablement to fulfill your dreams. Everybody has a top that will celebrate and fulfill him or her and a bottom rung that is waiting to drown and kill his or her destiny. You have a choice.

Potential Receivers/Tentacles: Receivers receive signals like radio receiver; audio or video signal receivers potentials may have tentacles or receivers waiting to get connected. Receivers transform signals from one form to

the other. These tentacles connect your potentials to their proof- producers, their God-sent David, their activators and lubricants. Every Joshua need a Moses. Every Elisha needs an Elijah and Every disciple and Apostle need the Master Jesus to see God. Every Zacchaeus need to climb a tree to see the Savior. Every Moses need to go up thither in other to perform successfully hither.

Awaken the giant in you. Prove the leader locked up inside you. Germinate the viable potential seed in you. Generate the genius you are. Extract the juicy nectar flowing inside you. Sweeten the honey deposit you were born with. Grow the life inside you. Manifest and maximize your potentials.

Chapter Two

His Relationship with the Insiders (The Disciples)

1. Dealings with His Disciples

JUDAS: Handling betrayal with sincerity: Have you been betrayed by a very close friend or a trusted one. In Mk 14:18 down and 1Cor.11: 23, He knew and saw the implications of this betrayal and was frank with the twelve. He looked beyond and took bread. He shared his love and life with them. Then he took the 3 (Peter, James and John) to pray. He dealt with the situation with the father and, not with the one that betrayed him. For Peter it was time to strike but with Jesus it was not time to fight back rather he replaced Malchus ear. (Luke 22:50 -51) Beyond the supernatural is the human. Handling betrayals!

JOHN AND JAMES: Handling the egotist with wisdom: Look at Matt 20:20-28. The greatest must minister to others. Any who want to be chief should be servant to others (serve). Look at their mother’s request. What do you do where there are equals and someone exhibit an ostentatious or arrogant posture, inordinate or misdirected ambition. But Jesus answered wisely, as to hurt no one. You can have knowledge but without wisdom you can turn a constructive process into destructive. In

understanding be men. Jesus matched decision or ambition with implications.

ZACCHAEUS: Handling the bad, the ugly or lost with love

Jesus hated sin but loved the sinners. Zacchaeus, make haste and come down; for today I musts abide at thy house

… And when they (the crowd) saw it they murmured, saying that he was gone to be guest with a man that is a sinner (Luke 19:5-7).

To the sinner’s sincere confession Jesus said: "today is salvation come to this house" Jesus was concerned about the God that will save Zacchaeus and not the devil that have drowned him, He looked at the hope available and not the death devil gave him. Jesus looked at the deliverance provided for Zacchaeus and not the enslavement of the enemy. For Jesus the situation will always be better if we obey. With Jesus there’s hope, a lifting when there’s a casting down, forgiveness when there’s repentance, a saint when there is a sinner. How have you treated all the ‘Zacchaeuses’ around you? Beyond the working wonders is a compassionate Love

THE ONE WITH JESUS: handling the temperamental and self-ruled with knowledge.

For all that take the sword shall perish with the sword (Matthew26: 52).

To this self-filled disciple who wanted to help God, Jesus handled by teaching him and reversing what self-work he has done and to his enemy he showed love by healing him. The word says pray for your enemies and those that despitefully use you (Matthew 5:44). Your enemies? How do you treat them? Pray for them but don’t negotiate with the devil.

Jesus never supported the ego-driven, self-motivated initiatives or humanism among his disciples because it is earthly and sensual. Humanism or divinity? Jesus was firm to Peter, to whom he said, “the devil has desired to have you so as to silt you but I have prayed for you that you faith fail not.” He told him the truth to humble his ego (Luke 22:31-32).

THE DISCIPLES: Handling leadership by “servantship”: If I then, your Lord and master have washed your feet; ye also ought to wash one another’s feet (John 13:14).See the spirit of humility and maybe not the physical act here. Jesus removed his garment, took a towel and water and washed their feet, the lowest part. Why the feet and not the head? The greatest form of leadership is “servantship”. The Christian leader is a servant and not a boss. Servants serve. Servants are available. Servants wait (waiters) on their masters. Servants are teachable, servants exemplifies service. A servant cannot be greater than his or her master. Remember Jesus is our master. Beyond an accomplished leader is a listening Servant.

MARY AND MARTHA: Handling character with priority:

… Mary hath chosen that good part (Luke 10:42).

Martha, the chief complainant, was cumbered about many things, a show-case but Mary sat at Jesus feet and heard his word. Jesus was faced with these sterling characters that need to be channeled well. Martha was serving and Mary was listening to God. Which is a priority. He handled the two cases by prioritizing a scale of preference. Which is more important; doing for God (service) or listening to God (obedience or being for God)? In verse 42 he said one thing is needful and Mary has chosen that good part that cannot be taken away from her. Working for God can be taken away from you or can take you away from God but waiting on God or listening to God cannot be taken

from you or cannot take you away from God. It is good to work and do service for God but it is better to listen, obey or wait on God. The first may bring Reformation (improved habit or behavior externally) but the later brings Transformation (total change in and out)Are you a leader in the home, class, community, place of work, or church? How do you confront these characters in you or in others so as to give them what cannot be taken away from them forever. Priority can establish an eternal value and save us time. All things are needful but not all are expedient. Jesus believed in priorities in life. Beyond the miracles, is the setting of priorities.

THE WOMAN WITH ISSUE OF BLOOD: Handling hopelessness with a show of encouragement

…For she said within herself, if I may but touch his garment, I shall be whole (Matthew 9:21).

Why didn’t Jesus let this secret healing go unnoticed? Why call up the woman? "Daughter thy faith has given you results" Every behavior or miracle Jesus exhibited generated a fruits, a purposeful target. Every gift will be useless if it has no fruit and is not productive. This woman was bold inside but shies outside, had faith inside but had no courage outside since she had suffered in the hands of many physicians. - a hopeless case? Jesus planted courage in her faith – courageous faith. Beyond the miracle is the lesson or message or fruit created thereafter. Hope for the hopeless. Beyond this hopelessness is a show of FAITH

THOMAS: Handling the Doubtful with proofs:

Then said he to Thomas, reach hither thy finger, and behold my hands; and reach hither thy hand, and thrust it into my side: and be not faithless, but believing … (John 20:27-29)

Proofs, evidences, evidential proofs have a way of melting doubts. The problem with doubt is that it is introversive and

may show or may not show outwardly Doubt is a fear-carrier but Jesus taught Thomas by evidential proofs that it is more blessed to have faith (believing without seeing physically) "Blessed are they that have not seen, and, yet have believed (John 20:29 Thomas wanted an evidence of Jesus resurrection (John 20:24-25) but Jesus while satisfying him showed that faith and believing is a better way than doubting to move forward in life. Are you an optimist or a pessimist, realist or idealist, naturalist or spiritualist? Faith in the Lord and his word is a catalyst and solid foundation to manifesting your destiny. Are you a doubting Thomas? Beyond His miracles is His style, method and approach to issues of life.

THE THREE (Peter, James and John): Handling important issues with maturity. There shall be no novice:

But strong meat belonged to them that are of full age, even those who by reason of use have their senses exercised to discern both good and evil (Hebrew5:14).

Full age (maturity and not maturation)-Maturation involves structural and physical development but maturity involves mental and spiritual development and alertness.

Reason of use – means experience. Jesus had no secret but there are situations, emergencies, priorities that restricted him to using or going with Peter, James and John. There are battles and there are battles where you separate the boys from the men. There are assignments that are given to a trusted few.

And God sought for a man among them that should build up the hedge and stand in the gap (Ezekiel 22:30).

At Gethsemane when important decisions about his life was to be made, crucial matters, Jesus took the three to partake in His burden. Watch with me (Matthew 26:38) though

they failed. He even left the three when he discovered everything rested on him. There are times you have to carry your cross all alone as a father, pastor, manager, a leader and God want to look on you to make a decision or break a jinx. Beyond the miracles, is the distinguished maturity.

THE TWELVE: Handling the mission with a commission:

And he ordained twelve, that they should be with him, and that he might send them forth to preach (Mk 3:14).

This pool of 12 is a representative of different characters and dispositions. We need each other to succeed in life.

Leadership stands at the instance of followership and tutorship to studentship. If there are no children then no fatherhood or motherhood. Workers produce managers.

Jesus replicated his divinity in the 12, hence they were nick-named Christians (Christ-like, small Christ) There is a mission that needs a commission or a missionary that needs a commissioner. Share your God-given virtues, ideas, vision or ideals with your twelve. Your twelve might be your family, your community, you neighbors etc. Not necessarily a church building.

THE SEVENTY: Handling the vision with empowerment:

And the seventy returned again with joy, saying, Lord, even the devils are subjected unto us through thy name … (Luke 10:17-20)

You know what? Jesus’ first reaction here was seeing a vision of the fall of Satan and correspondingly he empowered them. "Behold I give unto you power …verse 19" But in verse 20 he confirmed that empowerment is great but enthronement is far better. Beyond the miracle, the character. His character here is that it is pleasant to cast

out devil, exercise authority over sickness and diseases but to be in heaven’s throne is more profitable. Your name as a child of God is more important than your name as a crowd-puller or celebrity. Empowerment to live the full kingdom life is needed in this race. May God empower us, empower our vision and service. Beyond the miracles, is the visionary power and enthronement.

THE ONE HUNDRED AND TWENTY: Handling growth and enlargement with the upper room experience: After the experience of the 120 disciples in the upper room [Jesus said He will send the promise of the father (Luke 24:49)], the church experienced a phenomenal growth – 3,000 added to the church (Acts2:41), and another 5,000 believed (Acts 4:4). Beyond the miracles, the Greater works is the great salvation from a Greater Love.

TEMPEST HIT DISCIPLES: Handling or facing the storms of life with faith:

… where is your faith? … Luke 8:25.

Peace in the midst of the storm. Cooler in the midst of the fire. Christ in the midst of your crisis. What do you do when the boisterous tempest come ferociously toward you? When temptations come unannounced and unabated? When dark clouds gather and the voice of God you cannot hear? What comes to your mind, who you are or what you are? Who you have or what you have? The fear-stricken disciples remembered who they are and not who they have instead. Beyond the miracle what was Jesus’ reaction "And he said unto them, where is your faith? … (Luke. 8:25)"

That is to say what they are and who they are in Christ (believers) is more important to them than who or what they have.

Suppose Jesus was not in the ship physically – some trust in chariots but we will remember the name of the Lord".

The arm of flesh will fail us. Where is your faith? In your rich husband, or wise wife, your strong government connection, your ‘solid’ background. what you have inside you is stronger and more powerful than what you don’t have in another. Beyond the sweet miracles, is facing the realities of life.

Operational and Functional Methods

A .SPIRITUAL WARFARE PRAYERS

He kept the iron red-hot with prayer, and God's skill fashioned it with enduring power. No man can do a great and enduring work for God who is not a man of prayer and no man can be a man of prayer who does not give much time to praying - E. M. Bounds.

And pray in the spirit on all occasions with ALL KINDS OF PRAYERS AND REQUESTS. With this mind be ALERT and always keep on praying for all the saints (Eph. 6:18 NIV).

We must know that God demands that we pray all or different kinds of prayers. Different situations demand for different kinds of prayers. Misapplication of types of prayers will keep us always asking questions on why there are no answers or results.

(i)DEFENSIVE PRAYERS (2 Tim. 2:4-5): This is more of protective prayers. Using defensive armors as listed in Eph. 6:13-18. Verse 13 tells us to take THE WHOLE (COMPLETE) ARMOUR OF GOD that we may be able to withstand in the evil day. This amour is whole or complete, enough to defend us and it is of God and not man. It is worth noting here also that no provision was made for the back side of Man. All the armors are for the front. So no room for turning back in the battle front. It is dangerous, so you use such armors to protect yourself.

(ii)OFFENSIVE PRAYERS (Matt 18:18):Here you go on the offensive attack, rebuking the “rebukables”, binding the “bindables” ,casting out all the “castables” and losing all the “loosables” in the name of Jesus Christ. Some offensive warfare can serve defensive purposes too.

A lady was having running battles in her life to a point that her parents got very worried. Now she soon became pregnant for a young man who denied responsibility. So as we went on the offensive, binding and losing a man and a woman ran out of her. She said of the woman that she had threatened to deal with her, and she had told her that she could do nothing. The man and woman have been illegal occupants of her body, manipulating and controlling her. They were the source of the strange behaviors’ she had put up even as a believer. Praise God who intervened.

iii. AGGRESSIVE/CONFRONTATIONAL PRAYERS: These are also attacking prayers. Here only the forceful take it by force (Matt. 11:12). It takes confrontation to loose and release those the god of this world has blinded (2 Cor. 4:4).

We went to have our usual prayers in our intercessory group. That night was unusual as the burden of prayer was much on us and we were binding and casting out demons. People around were alarmed as we were too. Somehow I knew something was wrong somewhere for God to have given us this burden to pray. Anytime God lays someone in my heart, He leads me in the direction to pray. The following

morning we were asked to pray for this young zealous brother. What is the matter? Headache, but not just headache but something more. The same day we had the burden to pray and around the same time, this brother went somewhere and laid hands on a demon possessed person and the demons transferred into him. As he came back his eyeballs were rolling up and down. As we began to pray for him he reacted violently that three of us could not control him. Demons started speaking through him and that they were one hundred and forty-four demons in number. They threatened not to leave but it was a fierce battle before they left. We used our authority in Christ to cast them out. After that this young man that was so violent now slept for some time before getting up. Praise the Lord.

iv. CONTENDING PRAYERS (Isa. 49:25B): Contending means to engage in a contest, to decide, to distinguish, like Elijah on mount Camel (I Kings 16:18-24). It means to strive (in Hebrew usage), like that between the Archangel and Satan (Jude v.9).

v. VIOLENT PRAYERS (Luke 10:19): Violence involves forceful eviction, rough treatment of the devil and demons. Violent (forceful) eviction of unwanted spiritual tenants or dismantling of illegal spiritual structures.

vi. PRAYING IN THE SPIRIT (TONGUES): Jude V.20; 1 Cor. 14:14-15. Rom. 8:26-27.

Now we must differentiate between real Holy Ghost tongue from a clean vessel and false or dry tongues that can hold no water. From experience I have seen that sometimes as you pray for a demon possessed or demonized person in ordinary language nothing happens and when you release 'hot' tongues the demons react and run away.

We were praying for a sister who had an evil covenant with marine spirits. As we started praying in the spirit, the evil spirit bursts into strange tongues with a high pitch. This is a lady I have not known to pray in tongues before. As we cast

them out they confessed to how the mother of this sister in childhood dedicated or initiated her in a particular river. The mother later confirmed it.

I Cor.14:2 say we speak mysteries when we speak in the spirit. Mystery is deep secret. Sometimes as you pray in the spirit you release hidden information only the demons know about their victim. This terrifies them. 1 Cor. 14:3 9 says forbid not to speak with tongues. Only God knows why.

vii. REPORTING PRAYERS (Acts 4:29-31): Just report your grievances to God like Hezekiah did with the threat letter sent to him from the enemy camp (Isa. 37:14-20) and God will respond with arrows and hail stones (fire clothed stones, Joshua 10:11).

The Lord thundered from heavens, the voice of the Most High resounded. He shot arrows and scattered the enemies, bolts of lightning and routed them (2 Sam:-22:14- 15, NIV).

viii. GUIDANCE PRAYERS: By this you seek for instructions, direction, wisdom or understanding on an issue. Joshua received guidance from God about the battle with Ai and when things didn't work out well he went back to God to find out why (Joshua 8). According to James 1:5 if you lack wisdom, ask for it in prayers.

ix. INTERCESSION (Ezek. 22:30): This involves one standing in the gap and pleading for others (Number 14:13-19, Dan. 10:7). Rees Howells was said to be. Before he became founder of the Bible College of Wales, being prepared for larger intercessory service, he found his heart going out in prayer for the drunkards in his neighborhood. He felt he could only pray alright if he entered somewhat into their state, and so he denied himself of the food that would normally have been his.

x. PRAYER OF AGREEMENT (Matt. 18:19): This is when two or three agree on a thing without doubting in their hearts.

I remember a sister whose husband left home without any notice and stayed away for a longtime. She thought the whole marriage had collapsed. I agreed with her in prayer that the man should be back in Jesus name. It looked like nothing would happen but a release was actually done in the Spirit. The man was released and he came back and now more responsible and more of a father and a husband. Praise God.

xi. PRAYER OF DECREE (Job 22 :27-28): Here it is just like passing a decree, a judgment decision, command or an order and it will be established.

Another sister's husband abandoned his responsibility as a father and husband and left to live in the market place out of frustration for months or years. I went there pleading with him to come home but he refused. We prayed and decreed that he went home by any means. Later the whole market burnt down including his money. He then ran home by force. We didn't ask for the market to burn anyway.

xii. FAITH CONFESSION PRAYER (I Sam. 2:10): In this case you confess what you are in Christ or what you want, citing relevant scriptures of such as promised by God. You hold God by His words. Praise God and make positive confessions (Ps. 34: 1-3, Heb. 3:15).

xiii. TRAVAILING PRAYERS (Gal. 4:19. 1 Thess. 2:9, Gen. 30:1-2): Travail is labor, involving painful effort. This is prayer where one travails like a pregnant woman with a birth pang. Isa. 66: 8 declared that as soon as Zion travailed, she brought forth her children.

xiv. SUPPLICATION (Eph. 6:18): This involves pleading for help - asking God for help.

xv. IMPORTUNATE PRAYER (Luke. 18:1-8): This is prayers where you are eagerly and continuously demanding for a thing. The widow in Luke. 18:1-8 depicted this. E. M.

Bounds said that importunate prayers surmounts or removes all obstacles, overcomes every resisting force and gains its ends in the face of invincible hindrances. Importunity is made up of the ability to hold on, to press on, and to wait with unrelenting and non relaxing grasp.

xvi. PETITION (Matt 7:7-9; Phil 4:19. 1 Chron. 16:14): Petition is asking God for personal things in prayers.

There are other forms of prayers that we can employ in spiritual warfare.

B.SPIRITUAL WRESTLING (Eph. 6:12)

And Jacob was left alone and there wrestled a man with him, until the breaking of the day (Gen 32:24).

For we wrestle not against flesh and blood but against Principalities, against powers, (Eph. 6:12).

Several members of Jonathan Edward's church had spent the whole night in prayers before he preached his memorial sermon, “Sinners in the hands of an angry God”. The Holy Ghost was so mightily poured out and God so manifested in holiness and majesty during the preaching of that sermon, that the elders threw their arms around the church pillars and cried, “Lord save us, we are slipping down into hell”. But there is a little history behind this. For three days Edward was said not to have eaten a mouthful of food; for three nights he had not closed his eyes in sleep. Over and over again, he had been saying to God; “Give me New England! Give me New England. That was wrestling indeed, like the night of Jacob's encounter with God. Now wrestling in prayers or warfare also involves:

(i) KNOWING OR KNOWLEDGE (of information about the enemy or forces involved).Know the type of enemy (or demon)? A principality or a marine force or spirit of infirmity or ancestral force etc.? Sometimes we identify them by what they do, deaf and dumb spirit, spirit of fear, etc.

Know the enemies strength: We wrestle not against flesh and blood (so not human). They have spiritual strength.

Know the enemies location. In high places i.e. out of the reach of man (spiritual realm, Eph. 6:14).

Know the enemies strategies. His devices, tricks, plans and methods of operation (1 Tim. 3:7, 2 Tim. 2:26-32, 2Cor.2:11).

(ii) SKILL (i.e. Practical Knowledge and Power).

(iii) WISDOM (i.e. ability to understand the situation and make an appropriate choice or decision).

(iv) TECHNIQUE (i.e. method and manner of operation) Now, looking at these elements of spiritual wrestling, you need wisdom (an understanding and right decision) to use knowledge or information you have about the enemy, and applying the appropriate technique (method & manner) and skillfully too. E.g. dealing with a case of a locked-up pregnancy (an abnormal case where the pregnancy is carried for more years than usual).

(a)KNOWLEDGE (INFORMATION/FACTS)

About the problem

Info i: She has been pregnant for more than the gestation period (of 9 months), say five years.

About the source of problem

Info ii: She blame the witch doctor (mother in law) who cursed her that she will not deliver alive.

About the strength of the Power Source

Info iii: The witch doctor has killed many people (i.e. she is likely to be very powerful).

About the source of the witch doctor's power

Info iv: Her power is from the mermaid spirits kingdom (i.e. from the ocean).

(b)TECHNIQUE: You have various weapons or armors given by the Lord to use. e.g. the blood of Jesus, the name of

Jesus, prayers, angels, hailstone, Holy Ghost fire etc. (see section on weapons of our warfare). Here choose appropriate weapons to deal with such a case.

(c) SKILLS TO APPLY:

Option 1: Deal first with the source of the power behind the problem (Info iv)

Option II: Deal now with the powers or forces that locked up the pregnancy (Info ii & iv)

Option III: Then deal with the source of the problem i.e. the agent that attacked or put a spell or curse that locked up or padlocked the victim’s womb or pregnancy. By this time you must have cleared the ground and forestalled any reinforcement or spiritual interference in the process of releasing the victim.

(d)WISDOM: Lastly you depend on the leading of the Spirit of God who gives you wisdom on which weapon of our warfare to use. Some demons react more to certain weapons than others. Some react more to touch, some to the blood of Jesus etc. Sometimes you can be praying for someone and you shout Holy Ghost fire, nothing happens, then you mention the blood of Jesus and the person responds. In some cases there may be the need to combine weapons. Applying your skills and the information you have, you pray for the victim and loose her and her fallopian tube (womb) from the chains of bondage and release the child, breaking any hold or evil effects of the curse on the child and the mother. Cover them in the blood of Jesus Christ. Praise God.

NOTE: Now, God is supreme. Special anointing can destroy this yoke in a split of second without this entire rigor, when we pray. Praise His name. When many anointed men have handled a case and nothing happened, it could be the way it was handled.

I know of a woman who has been pregnant for many years and confessed that no Pastor that prayed for her locked up pregnancy that did not suffer one serious problem or attack.

Hence they ran away. It is the people and the force that tied or caged this woman that are responsible for the attack of those who want to release their victim. Spiritual wrestling like the natural wrestling can take a short or long time depending on the wrestler or nature of the problem. Some fights end in bout one, two or ten. Fight the good fight of faith. Fight on.

C.SPIRITUAL CONFLICT: (1 Thess. 2:2; Phil. 1:28-30).

This implies a contest against spiritual foes, as well as human adversaries. It involves struggle, battle, fight or contention.

D.SPIRITUAL VIOLENCE :This involves disrupting an established order of things in a family or a place e.g. a pattern of inherited problem. “Every first born dies premature”, “they females don't remain in their husbands place,” “they always die at forty”, “they always suffer diabetes in their family” (etc. In fact the Hebrew word for violence connotes a violent wrong doing which has not been righted, the guilt of which lies on an entire people and disrupting their relationship with God, thereby interfering with His blessings. So we have to violently destroy these evil patterns or cycles (of poverty, barrenness, premature death, mental and emotional breakdown etc.). Let's right the wrongs of our ancestors and re-establish the flow of God’s blessings in the family. Spiritual violence involves a great force or rough-handling the demons and evil forces delegated to enforce such evil and break whatever ancestral evil that tie people to evil occurrences.

A young man was brought to us at midnight. What was his problem? Gonorrhea. We led him to Christ and prayed for him. Without telling us, he went and burnt the shrine in their house. It was a bright day but suddenly as the smoke went up everywhere darkened like it wanted to rain. It was clear that what was going on was reaction from the dark kingdom because of the burning of the shrine. The man ran mad. As we were praying for him in a night vigil, he ran into the bush. We couldn't get him but I was surprised how he went through the bush for about five kilometers to get to

their home. He was shouting that if we killed him, he would destroy the whole world. The spirit of madness runs in that family. His mother was mad and his sister was almost mad too. But God had mercy on him.

(E) SPIRITUAL VIGILANCE

Be sober, be vigilant, because your adversary, the devil as a roaring Lion, walks about, seeking whom he may devour (I Pet. 5:7).

Vigilance is defined by Longman's dictionary as watchful care or continual attentiveness. Watchfulness in the original language of the New Testament is rendered, “a guarding” (i.e. readiness to protect or defend), custody (legal right of caring for someone), sleeplessness etc. So spiritual vigilance involves guarding, being a custodian, and keeping awake. Watch and pray the bible says so that you will not fall into temptation (Mark 14:38). Some pray without watching. Some watch without praying. It is not enough to pray. Spy or watch the activities, operations, reactions, manipulations, tricks, strategies of the enemy and his agents.

(F) SPIRITUAL RESISTANCE: This means to spiritually stand against or to withstand. I Peter 5:9 urged us to resist the devil steadfastly in the faith. Submit yourself first to God, then secondly resist the devil and he will flee (James 4:5). Eph. 6:13 says we should put on the whole amour of God so that we will be able to withstand (resist) the devil. Resistance is one weapon the enemy uses against us (Act 13:8). Don't give up so easily in any case. When he knows that you know, he will flee.

A brother had a revelation where a suicide rope hung over his neck. He couldn't understand so he came to me. On inquiry I discovered that his mother wrote him that one of their relations vowed never to live and see him alive or succeed. Could it be that this man has sent him this messenger of Satan for him to commit suicide? In any case I gave him some prayer points and asked him to do night vigil

for some days. He did and prayed aggressively, resisting and refusing the plans of Satan. He was strongly delivered from the pangs of death. Praise God.

(G)SPIRIT WAR

The great battles, the battles that decide our destiny and the destiny of generations yet unborn are not fought on public platforms but in the lonely hours of the night and in moments of agony — Samuel Brengle.

It takes a spirit to fight a spirit or to fight in the spirit or to fight in the spiritual world. War conquered in the spirit is as good as conquered in the physical. The spiritual controls the physical. I read how in Bali (Indonesia), witch doctors fight magical wars, contesting who is the greatest and a lot lose their lives in the process.

A sister told me how in her village someone can threaten to knock you on the head spiritually or in a dream. And if he did that you are finished.

In Arondizuogu, South-East of Nigeria, there is a yearly festival and contest of fetish powers to determine the strongest or most powerful man before a mammoth crowd, as in a football stadium. A goat is tied at the center of the field. Then the contestants who are with different fetish powers try to outwit the others so as to get to the center to bring the goat. Many with lesser powers die in the process. Power contest. Spirit war.

The Bible forbids us worshipping idols whether in the air (celestial), Land (terrestrial) or sea (marine) Exodus 20:4. This shows that there are demons in the air (Principalities or powers) or Land (That control evil on the earth) or sea (marine kingdom, mermaid and her kingdom).War of spirits, battle to control man.

PrefaceAngels go to War and the battle to deliver Ehie Dacunga is the story of a demonic siege upon this city of great potentials but it took Ikem, the chosen one and other warriors and supernatural occurrences and interventions to deliver them from the evil siege of the dark kingdom and the debilitating ruins of the past that had followed and affected their generations and even waiting for the yet unborn generations

This is a trilogy of three families which epitomized the life of the whole village of Ehie and their bigger community Ikpem. One was a case of curse upon a generation as a result of their fore-fathers evil, the grand father’s bill. The second was a case of evil covenant and captive names effectively ravaging a family. The third was a case of a family laboring under ungodly delays because of environmental forces around them.

Then the real spiritual and physical battles to liberate Ehie Dacunga! Going to the mountain! When they discovered the truth of available information, oral tradition and acted rightly, it brought change, reformation in their psyche and way of doing things which later graduated into transformation, progress in the whole community. God intervened and sent an invading army of Angels on

assignment that enforced a just cause, delivered and healed their Land. Ehie village paid an enormous price in the face of great opposition that brought peace, deliverance, prosperity to the bigger community of talents, brains, potentials that had suffered hitherto under evil siege for a long time. Angels still come to the earth today on assignment

Chapter 1The scenario started with a rumbling of dragons from the River, spitting fire and releasing demons, short weird malevolent mischievous evil creatures like goblins with short horns and protruding upper teeth like fangs and lacerating dentition of a lion overlapping the lower jaw incisors. The pulp cavity oozing out blood with slimy whitish liquid! They clustered around the city gate as if waiting for an intruder or an impostor. The whole village was in turmoil. A siege upon the land! The people were torn between serving these fire and blood spitting evil looking creatures through their priest or the Chi of heaven that they say provided rain, sunshine and bumper harvest. The contest was set. They surrounded the Ehie city gate, sign post of Ehie village as if taking possession. Then suddenly lightening, thundering from heaven and chariots of angelic forces struck from above and dispersed the demons and the water dragon. They ran away. They came back and a little war ensued and they ran away again leaving the angels on guard at the city gates with trumpets, shouting and blowing.

The scenery now was not plaintive in my mind’s eye. Bright day, bright people, welcoming land, evergreen vegetation, overhead bright blue sky and tranquility. It was just one of those eventful Saturdays in the dry season, just emerging from “everybody like Friday night” nightcap. It

was end of the new yam festival. The harvest was bumper, the yield profitable, the effort, will, endeavors productive. The sun rose like a sonorous resonating lead guitar riffs or breaks to a crescendo, suspends and then began a downward trend. The green world with its interactive flora and fauna responding to the radiating sun edifice of God Almighty, the master scenic designer! The blend was awesome. The transition anything more than smooth! The transformation excellent! The human population complimentary! The small and the big, the young and the old! The black and the beautiful! The fatty and the skinny! Nothing hurt, nothing bites. All was just a near perfect or rather pluperfect situation. Oh God how great thou art.

I was basking in the euphoria of loved ones I will be seeing after a long time, coming from far and wide, friends, brother and sisters, extended families, schools mates, the proper closing festival ceremony dance usually spiced up with staccato rhythmic music of invited cultural groups. The thought lifted me to a different world. When it was twilight my thought was interrupted by a neighbors buzzing intercom. The bright sunny day suddenly gave way. Then it just happened and darkness fell unannounced, accompanied with thunderous lightening. Just now it was a full blown bright sunny day. Dread fell on all. Another eclipse or bible predictions of end time occurrences! My father told me long ago of a sudden night appearance in broad day light, cutting off the light from the day. The end of the world or the biblical truth of the end-time! When the sun will be darkened, the moon will refuse to shine and the hanging stars like the icicles will begins to fall. The heaven and the earth’s powers will be shaken. Then shall emerge the triumphant Son of Man with dazzling light brighter than multitudes of chandeliers and flood lights combined, caught up there in the clouds of the sky. High sounding trumpet-carrying angels and arch angels leading the escort! Angels go to war. Woe is come upon the earth. Who shall escape?

Then I remembered the story of the great tribulation of the book of Revelation and the rapture or catching or snatching away of the saints from the earth. My heart sank and then rejoiced after all.

Then from the lower part of the lowest earth and sea rose a blinding smoke of demonic aura. The confrontation was set. Wondering what will happen as I seem to be caught in the crossfire. My thought was broken by the screeching of a

mammoth crowd, of shouting, piercing cries coming from the village center. Oh am I dreaming? A blurry nightmare or reverie! Sweat poured down my face like rain and soaked by beddings as if I was dunk into an urn. The hauling, screaming, cries were growing stronger. I must find out.

So Ikem rushed out almost half naked carrying the dread of his trance or dream to the real world. Oh my mother land, small but united. What a puzzle. This myth must be resolved

Chapter One“I have really fallen in love with this girl. Her blond hair flows down like a water fall over the contour of her bust just like the rainbow colors arcs over the blue sky. Her complexion blended with her calm, peaceful demeanor, lilting voice and bouncy steps. The spontaneity and

solemnity with which the impulsive words “Nma chi,” that is the beauty of God came out of my mouth left no one in doubt of the sudden change that has taken place in me.” “God has given and nothing with stop me now”, Obi rambled, deeply overwhelmed emotionally.”

“I must marry her”, Mr. Obi said to himself. As a Manager Director I need this now to add credence, prestige and cadence to my life and career.”

Mr. Obi got married and lived a successful life until his life was punctured here and there by his involvement with one cult activity or the other. Reading occult books and involved in astral travels just for power or for the fun of it. One day something strange happened in his room as he was grossly absorbed in one of those books. He found himself transcending into another world while physically in his room. The table fan was struck by an invisible force and it clacked so loud and the chairs moved positions. From that day, Obi began to have inexplicable pains and delusions. Shadows of strange images began to invade his total being; body, soul and spirit. Evil shadows! One night he had a painful nightmare and woke up to see a standing man-shaped shadow, dark deep black shadow with hands and legs pointing at him while he was lying supine on the bed. Eerie voices emanated from different parts of the room to the loud point of almost blowing his tympanic membrane. The evil human-shaped shadow moved backwards and upwards simultaneously, once, twice, thrice and continuously till it vanished into the ceiling. Mr. Obi’s problem started after that strange visit of an evil shadow. I think that may be the genesis of problems. Sickness, headache, paranoid disorders followed that he needed a shrink to attend to him.

“I read about this evil shadow, that whenever it visits anyone, the person will either die or run mental,” Obi confessed to himself”

“Evil people are projecting evil against me. I have tried to live my life independent of others, now why would someone be after my life.”

“Even though I have been mean but I was created that way”, he tried to justify his demeanor.”

“I never hurt anyone except you stand on my way and I don’t see anything wrong about self-defense,” Obi concluded.

Obi developed into a thick skinned tough ruthless man by the things he passed through. Shadows, not just physical shadows, but reflective shadows, hurting and daunting shadows from the past hunted and hurted him through life!

In Mr. Obi’s house, the wife, Nma as Obi fondly called her when he was in the mood, had a new baby and now worry with the children what to eat, school fees, and what to wear while the husband who is a Managing Director of a thriving company waste away with call girls far away in the city. For three years after giving birth to a baby boy, they have not seen nor heard from the husband.

Mrs. Obi: (Woke up and prayed absent mindedly reflecting on what was happening to them). Oh God why is this man treating us this way. Why has he suddenly changed? Oh God help us. I cannot bear the pain of seeing my children in hunger and out of school. I can’t understand my husband’s strange behavior. Not that he is dead as people who see him confirm he is healthy and doing well in business.

The reflections of when they met. Their romance and honey moon at the choicest beach hotel! How he bought things for her as soon as is mentioned. How they dated, married and moved on along so fine. Then he came home from work one day and changed into a senseless bitter and wicked man.

“The bliss that followed our wedding has just gone just like that,” she thought aloud with tears dripping down her now wearied face.

Obi’s wedding ceremony was a society wedding held at a five star hotel befitting of a chief executive. Colorful canopies, parasol covered tables or patio littered the whole garden quadrangle of the Garden city hotel. My eyes stretched beyond the separating glass wall into the banquet hall interiors decorated with colorful balloons and stuccos. Immaculate white sheets masked the sturdy oak tables and pristine glass wares. At the extreme right corner of the hall came out soft and solemn instrumental work like that of a modern troubadour serenading his lover. Blend of colors, shades and shapes of whatever, soft, light, warm adorned the venue, all bright, beautiful and adorable.

While all moved well and as planned for Obi, one of those he unjustly sacked after a life time service to the company had an unsavory wedding package planned for him. He swore to spoil the show for him if that will give him a taste of wickedness inherent in him. His hired hit man had planted explosives at strategic locations at the venue and detonation time set to about the celebrant’s special time or hour on the program. When they will come out to dance! The hit man then went out to have some drinks to calm down nerves and to notify his employer that the reservation has been secured. He escaped all security checks as he disguised in uniform of one of the companies contracted to fix the place. “One good turn or rather one bad turn deserve another,” he thoughtfully but peevishly complained to himself. “This is business! The son of man must survive,” he added out to whoever cared to listen.

The roll call presented most of the best cream of the society - the higher ups, politicians, industry executives, privileged minority and the most powerful. Then servant in their uniform attire waited on the invited guest, supported by rotund, fearful looking security agents to forestall any breakdown of law and order. Women especially the bridal train wore a prescribed flowing gown and the Men in black suit to compliment the groom. Almost everybody looked

anything from a blue blooded aristocratic descent. The groom wore scanty standing black hairs well barbered and combed, a well-trimmed moustache of a well-built stylish man. Every woman’s delight! While the bride could be described as anything beautiful - no wonder Obi fell for her charms. Round brilliant eyes, deep seated in her sockets and seductive blinking eye lashes as if conveying helpful signals! She was the center of attraction. They said she stole not just the day but the heart of her admirers and husband. Her shy but thoughtful face and composure protected by her husband’s loud and bright adorable face was just a match only made in heaven.

When it was the groom and bride’s special hour, the music was scintillating, body-moving as well as romantic. All eyes were on deck. The stage was set for the climax or do I say the zenith of the occasion. Piously, grandiosely but cautiously too the celebrants took the floor as if they were from another planet or they were not mortals. Then suddenly there was an explosion, pleasurable explosion of balloons from the air above showering confetti all over the celebrants and the people. Colored papers and dried flowers all over at the festive occasion! The guests were elated with pleasant emotions rising to crescendo. The atmosphere both inside and outside were charged. Blissful pleasurable bliss! The couple cuddled and kissed each other, cut the cake and all that there was to do that day. The guests from the high tables joined the dance one after the other till it almost turned into a ballroom dance but for the Master of Ceremony who salvaged the situation. All then returned to their seats for the program to continue.

The hit man must be a horrible terrorist or location man. The aggrieved man watching his time happily made some phone calls to ascertain the turnout of events but heard what he never bargained. The ceremony was eventful and accident free.

“What happened? Mission aborted? What went wrong or did not go wrong?” he questioned, gazing into the air without receiving any answers. He called the hit man who confirmed hid fears.

“The merchandise was not activated to detonate. There were misconnections definitely,” he groaned. “Someone must have stabbed us at the back,” he concluded.

“So we failed and Obi succeeded. He must wait for another surprise. His self-created enemies were not done yet. He must pay for his multifarious grievous atrocities” he contemplated.

Nemesis must catch up with him. Whatever a man sows, he reaps. Only time will find out the culprit or culpable offender. The wedding was over and they settled down to their married life. Time and time passed and things and life began to nosedive for Obi.

Mrs. Obi: (Mr. Obi back from work) welcome honey. You must be tired. Give me your bag.

Mr.Obi: Welcome my foot. Just get out of my way.He went straight into his room, refused to eat and slept off. Woke up and reflected on how he has changed suddenly into a monster. “What is happening to me?” he queried himself. He fell asleep again and was awoken by a shadow man-like structure.

Evil Shadow: What you sow you reap. The covenant is mature now. You must fulfill your call. The evil shadow entered into his body

Mr. Obi: All these troubles (reflecting) started the day I visited that shrine, when I was twenty years, looking for fame, success and riches.

They opened two files for Obi. One was sent to their headquarters in India and the other to Israel.

“They asked me there to write a letter and say what I wanted, Obi remembered. I did there and then and they burnt the letter in my presence and the ash was packed into a calabash. I received a reply there with a ring inside an

envelope. The priest did incantation and asked me to remove my shirt. He threw the ring to me and it entered my stomach,” he moaned ruefully

Shrine Priest: You can now go. You have paid your dues. You will get what you want but at maturity you will pay the price of the biddings of the spirits.

Mr. Obi: Thanks Baba. (He turns to himself) Yes that ring is still in me but that pastor prayed for me that time at their vigil when I fell under the anointing. In the church as the Pastor prayed for me I fell down as if hypnotized but felt elated while sitting on the floor. It was a pleasant experience

Pastor: What is the matter?Mr. Obi: my head, my head. It is like am carrying a

house on my head. A big weight crushing me!Visiting Pastor: Who are you? You attend a

Pentecostal church but where did you go? You have an evil deposit in you.

Obi: (Surprised opened up and told him about the ring). They threw a ring inside me at the shrine.

Visiting Pastor: Why did you go there? Mr. Obi: I am of a family of 5 children but my father

who is a spiritualist used all of my siblings as guinea pig to test his powers. Since am the only one still remaining alive I had to seek for protection for my life and for success. I had to go to different countries seeking for help. I got power and success, now they are fighting back.

Visiting Pastor: Who are fighting back?Mr. Obi: The ring, the ring inside me and the shrine

priest.The visiting pastor prayed for Obi and he saw the two files which were points of contact for reaching him burnt to ashes.

Mr. Obi: Pastor, Pastor, okay, I saw those two files burn to ashes. Am free now, their contact with me is broken.

But Obi continued without God. Now he came back to himself.

Mr. Obi: Yes, that ring has the inscription,“wickedness” written on it. Has it anything to do with this strange behavior of rewarding people evil for their good to me.

Mr. Obi: (at work) I issue queries indiscriminately. Deduct people’s salary for little offences. Terminate appointments of innocent people. Now nemesis has caught up with me. I am reaping what I have sown.

Mr. Obi: (muttered) Nemesis, nemesis, nemesis on me. Forgive me secretary Please tell everybody to forgive me.

(Mr. Obi ran mental and was taken to different hospital abroad without success. Then to London and there he met this Indian doctor who spoke told him).

Indian Doctor: I belong to the white lodge and I have seen it in the spirit. Your case is spiritual. I will help you if you follow my instructions

Desperate Obi agreed. “What have I to lose more when I have already lost all, I will take another chance who knows..,” he cut shot, lost for what more to say.

Indian Doctor: Just twelve midnight stand stark naked in the open and read Psalms 35:1-8 and call my name Shajira, Shajira, Shajira, three times.

Introduction:

Gen 2:7

And the Lord God formed Man out of the dust of the

ground and breathed into his nostrils the breath of life and

Man became a living soul

This breath of life quickened the lifeless dust or clay

and we were made to know that this breath became the

spirit of Man. Except we discern and understand our

spirit we cannot communicate with God in spirit. It is

important, very important if you want to be hearing from

God. If God want to talk to us He passes the message to

our spirit Man. Though He speaks through circumstances,

voices, through people and other ways but the message is

received in the spirit of Man. God speaks always to

assist or warn us but some who have not trained their

spirit or who are not tuned to their spirit man will not

hear. Many are oblivious of his fact.

Insights for living, seeing, and vision:. Receiving into

your spirit man, the light, truth, information, ideas to

succeed. The Spirit (capital ‘s’) of God drops active

ingredients into our spirit (small ‘s’) that will make

your life worth the while. They are raw materials

undeveloped burning inside you but need a platform to

materialize and manifest. Now these three platforms of man

– the spirit (sometimes called heart, not biological heart),

--–the soul (the mind or intellect), and

– the flesh (the body, strength) are involved.

The spirit receives inner witness, insight or light for living

but it is stocked here. The soul and body renewed and

transformed by the WORD OF GOD accommodates and

process these developments in the spirit Man. The spirit of

man (spirit man) receives from God directly and the soul

receives from the word of God (transformation, faith,

courage) and missed together to propel the Christian’s body

to prove the perfect will of God in the believer or believer’s

fruitful action. It is all about light in all these 3 faculties of

our life. This is the background message. They saw from

afar off (Heb. 11:13) but have not gotten there. Now how

do you get there – by receiving insight for living into your

spirit.

Receiving Light into Your Spirit :( Impartation of

knowledge and information): the believer discerns his own

spirit. In the human spirit are the tripartite functions

of Intuition, communion and conscience.

Intuition in Man’s spirit : Involves sensing directly

without interference or outside influence – a knowing

without the help of our emotions, mind, or will. The mind

only understands what we know in the spirit. All

revelations of the Holy Spirit come through the intuition

of the believer’s spirit. So always listen to your

intuition’s instructions and the voice of your

conscience. Some scriptures buttress this –

…perceive in the spirit (Mk 2:8)

…deeply moved in the spirit (John 11:33)

…knows a man’s thought except a man’s spirit (1 Cor.

2:11)

…fervent in the spirit (Acts 18 :25)

Communion in Man’s spirit: Communion with God

(worshiping God).Our spirit is the seat of communion with

God. We know God directly in the spirit. He said He has

revealed these things to the babies but have kept it from the

wise (of this world) and the prudent. The soul is not

qualified to worship God. Those that worship or serve Him

do so in spirit, in the inner man and not in the outside

man or the soul. Thoughts, intentions or feelings cannot

comprehend God but they can see and acknowledge the

works of God.

...I will sing with my spirit (1 cor. 4:15)

…bless with my spirit (1 cor. 4:16)

…in the spirit he carried me away (Rev.21:10)

…my spirit rejoices in God (Lk 1:47

…whom I serve in my spirit (Rom 1:9)

..he who unites to the Lord becomes one spirit (1

cor.4:16)

Communion and communication with God are in the spirit

We worship – communes and He communicates to us

Conscience in Man’s spirit: The human spirit is not

conscience but possesses the function of conscience for

checks and balances. The conscience discerns right and

wrong not by the influence of knowledge in the soul but

by direct judgment. It is independent, and direct. It

cries out against, when wrong is done and does not listen

to outside opinion.

…the Lord hardened his spirit (Deut. 2:30)

…troubled in the spirit (John 13:21)

,…I had no rest in my spirit (2 cor. 2:13 AV)

…I have pronounced judgment (1 cor.5:3).

Conscience is a kind of watch dog of the spirit of man.

The three functions together. Man knows God intuitively

and God reveals His will to man’s intuition. Conscience

judges and discerns according to intuition and communion

in worship of God. All these interactions of our spirit

and the Spirit of God gives us insight for living or

shapes our being as to move right. Don’t silence the

voice of your spirit (the conscience) or don’t block the

receiver (the intuition) and don’t hinder worship in

your spirit with the Spirit of God (communion).

All these determine our spiritual life. Are you a

spiritual man or ‘soulish,/soulical’ man or a

physical/natural man? Which one dominates or rules your

life? All are important as long as they submit to the

spirit

Psalm 36:9B… in thy light shall we SEE light

Psalm 97:11 …Light is sown for the righteous

That is Light is like a seed sown – it germinates, grows,

and multiply unto fruitfulness i.e. holy insight makes

you fruitful and productive Every believer must discern his

own spirit that communes with the Spirit of God or medium

of interaction between him and God so as not to confuse it

with the emotions or thought of the soul. Those true

worshipers that worship (or serve) God do it in spirit and

truth. 1 cor. 2:11 talks of the spirit of Man in him by which

he knows (get insight) and even so the Spirit of God knows

the things of God. So interactions between the two spirits

give you insight into and for higher and greater life. We

must learn to commune and also communicate to God with

our spirit man and not our soul (emotions. mind or will) or

flesh. Our soul is the seat of our emotions (i.e. likes,

dislikes, affections, desires and senses), seat of our

intellect or mind (reasoning, knowledge, wisdom) and seat

of our volition or will (decision, choice etc. Ps

35:25).You must grow to subdue the soul and flesh, making

them yield to the spirit in your worship of God. To

whosoever you yield your member is your master. When

you received Christ in your spirit you became Born Again

instantaneously but your soul needs transformation by the

renewing of your mind (Rom 12:2) as you study the

scripture and live by it. Are most decisions you take or

voices you listen to from your spirit man (where the

Spirit of God communes and communicate with you) or

from your soul’s thought process or dictates of your carnal

man (flesh).INSGHT FOR LIVING. Discern inputs into

your spirit by God, dictates of your soul’s intelligence and

the physical activity – full flesh of strength.

...By strength shall no man prevail (1 Sam 2: 9B).

Most times that is where we miss it. A lot of mechanical

worship which He says God is not in our noise. We pray

(sing, worship) and receive not ‘because we pray amiss

(wrongly).We approach God with the wrong faculties or

attitudinal state. The carnal man (one ruled by the soul

or flesh) cannot understand the things of the spirit

because they are spiritually discerned. So we prepare the

ground to receive from the Spirit of God in our spirit.

In receiving I mean going beyond receiving the bread and

butter of life to mature living. Beyond factual

information to affective reformation and to total life

transformation. Insight for living! Bones or strong meat

are cracked by maturity, those (of full age) who by

reason of use (experiential knowledge) have their senses

(Gr.aistheterion =the capacity for spiritual apprehension)

exercised to discern good and bad and not for children

(Heb.5:14).

The Bible says ask, seek, and knock (matt 7:7).They are

in order of importance. Those who ask, receive (what

others can give), those who seek finds (treasures,

diamond, precious stones, find the source) and those who

knock have the door opened to them (open doors, they have

arrived sought of, no more struggling).To grow beyond the

give me give me bread and butter Christian we need

insight (light).Many Christians are at this ignorant and

struggling state. A baby who cries when there is no food

to eat. Life does not consist in the abundance of what

you have in Christ but in the abundance of what you

are in Christ. Light inside of us can overcome, withstand

or overshadow any darkness outside of us. Ability to rise

above darkness unhindered, unhurt, untouched and not

dented. Arise, shine for thy LIGHT (insight) is come and

the glory of the Lord is risen upon you (Isa.60:1).Insight or

Light inside of us cause us to shine to glory. From grass to

grace and from grace to glory and from glory to being

glorified triumphantly and decorated in heaven

Chapter Five

Who are you? - Holy Spirit seal carrier (Part one)

Eph 4:30; …and grieve not the Holy Spirit of God

whereby you are SEALED UNTO the day of redemption.

Introduction: The seal of ownership (Ownership right, no

trespassing), the seal of protection and security, the seal of

son-ship right. The trade mark of God is upon you. You are

redeemed out of this world, tested, packaged, approved and

sealed for eternity. This implies a “keep away sign, “not

for sale”, “reserved”, “divine diplomatic immunity”,

follows you every where and no devil can mess around

with you. There is a seal on your forehead that Satan and

his agents see over you even when you sleep that keep

them away. That says you are “Untouchable”, the seal of

the Holy Spirit. Don’t mess up yourself either if the devil

cannot mess you up. Sin is a reproach, sin can corrupt the

seal.

Ambassadors have immunity and all their property has a

seal engraved on it and cannot be checked in their serving

country. Breaking diplomatic protocol has grievous

consequences. So also every thing about you carries divine

immunity. SEAL are mostly engraved to make them

permanent. Talking about seal in Eph. 4:30, 29, 31, 32 Paul

warned about the life style that can dent or corrupt this seal

of protection - corrupt communication, bitterness, anger

etc. The seal marks you out as royalty determines how you

carry yourself.

Sealed Defined: Greek word Sphragis denotes seal or

signet (seal of the living God – Rev. 7:2), an emblem of

ownership and security. The person to be sealed being

immune from destruction and marked for reward. It also

means authentication, sure and firm foundation (2 Tim.

2:19). No matter what happens in your life or did not

happen. How long it took or did not take, God owns you

and he sets the times and season of what happens to his

handwork. You are Gods master piece. His will on your life

is not limited or bounded my TIME, or circumstances. So

let no man judge you. It is not a sin to be single neither is it

to be married. It is not a sin to be fat neither to be skinny

etc.

Gods Set Time: If Abraham had waited for Gods set time

or due season of visitation in his life, there will be no

Ishmael, the descendants of wild Arabs today but the child

of promise Isaac came when he was 100yrs and Sarah

90yrs old (Gen. 17:17)

- Moses was called at 80yrs while in a strange land herding

sheep (Ex. 3)

- Joseph entered Gods plan for his life at age 17 (Gen. 37:2)

- David was anointed by Samuel at a tender age of 13 or so.

God set his seal of leadership and warrior on David. So let

no man, age or time or circumstances intimidate you. You

are destined for Gods purpose at a set time.

Like David: Let not your age put a limit to what God can

do. Go confront the Goliaths of life.

Like Moses: In a strange land or far country, hear the voice

of God from the special burning bush – remove your shoes

for where you stand is a Holy ground.

Like Joseph: Hold onto your dreams and visions, your

calling no matter what the people say.

Like Abraham: The Father of many nation without a

physically seen child at age 99, wait for Gods time.

Like Sarah: Who already entered her menopause (35-

40yrs) look up to the one that promised. You have the seal,

no one can pause your life His seal is still upon your womb.

It is not dead but alive. This womb carry your future &

destiny.

Your Forehead/Face: Until you have the seal or are sealed

(i.e. Born Again) you are vulnerable and exposed, you are

naked. The forehead is covering the brain, the human

computer. Every part of the body has a connection to the

brain. Destroy the brain or forehead to kill the whole life.

David targeted Goliath forehead to disorganize him (1 Sam.

17:49).

We have the name of Jesus on our forehead (Rev. 22:4)

- When Israelites saw Moses his face shone that they feared

(Ex. 34:30)

- Sets a mark of separation on the righteous that abhors sin

(Ezek. 9:4)

- Face of Dagon (Philistine god) bowed in surrender (1

Sam. 5:4)

- Ezra and the people bowed forehead in worship (Neh.

8:6)

- David shot Goliaths forehead to defeat him (1 Sam.

17:49)

- Until you are sealed you are vulnerable and exposed, you

are naked (Rev. 7:3)

Deal with the forehead, the representation of the total man

and you deal with his whole life; who are you? A holy

ghost seal carrier and vector

Separation No 3: I Will Make Thy Name Great

(His Pronouncement - Your Announcement)

What is in a name? - Destiny, greatness, failure, the bad,

good, or the ugly? Everything I will say. A name can place

limitations on or bring an increase to a man’s life but the

one who is great and whose name is great in might (Jer. 10:

6) says He will make your name great. If Jehovah will

make a name great, that is to say, there are names that

occupy lower and demeaning shameful and humiliating

status.

FUNCTION OF NAMES

- Some Names Identifies – Identification tag - no deeper

rooted meaning. Some answer Stone, Rice, just surface

identification labels.

- Some Names characterizes a person or thing. This

shows greatest interest, especially most local names

Do you see such reflections in people answering such

names? Most circumstantial names do

Some Names personify- deifies – This is restricted to

spirit beings. Rom 10: 13 says whosoever shall call on his

name shall be saved (Instantly) .But God promised to make

your name great. Greatness implies great dignity, great

things. It is same Hebrew for magnify i.e. grow strong and

wealthy. Also implied is the Greek for excel signifying a

surpassing, a throwing beyond, an excellence. So in great

names are Success, excellence, and dignity and great

works. So walk in the light of this bigness. There is an

invisible and highly felt name and presence describing,

circumscribing, projecting, and profiling your literal name.

What God want to do to your name is greater than the name

people identify and label you with. God has given you a

name that is reproach – free and that carriers a royal

presence, awe and wears a royal diadem. Ps 82: 6 and John

10: 34 says ‘‘ye are gods” (small letter) and all of you are

children of the most High. Not that you are God but you

carry the inherited attributes of your Father. You are not

high tension (very potent) but you enjoy and exude the

benefits of processed and stepped down electricity. There

are names that have affected lives positively – chief

executives of multinational companies, great leaders, great

singers, great evangelists, great actors, great authors and

writers.

God gave Abraham a great name by his adventures,

exploits and excellence. The name didn’t just fall from

heaven. Firstly Abraham heard God (God told him to go

out, leave now before is late. Overcome your

circumstances, come out, and be separated because I want

to give you a vision – show you something.)Then he

obeyed (with no slightest idea or pre-knowledge of what,

where or when) because he believed and trusted God, who

promised and never failed him. This is Faith (Acting on the

substance (of promise of God, not on an empty premise),

coupled with Enduring Patience He set the track for God’s

prophetic declarations, for God counted him righteous for

this. First he perceived greatness, then conceived greatness,

then delivered greatness and grew and grew into a great

name. A merchant of cattle and sheep, property owner,

possessor of great descendants and off springs! Our Father

Abraham, ‘‘I will make your name great’’. God has

separated your name for greatness. A child of destiny!

Honor due to Name (EX. 20: 7) Thou shall not take the

name of the Lord in vain – There’s penalty for defaulters;

Psalm 34: 3 - Exalted name of God;

What do you see - A turning point or a critical point?

Edifying Quote: You can create tomorrow’s peace out

of today’s crisis. You can turn your dark, gloomy

frustrating blackness of your dark midnight ordeals to

a successful, glowing, bright noon day ideals.

I Kings 17:12-13: And she said as the Lord thy God lives, I

have not a cake but an handful of meal... that I may go and

dress it for me and my son, that we may eat it and die.

What could be more critical? You will eat and live. You

will not die.

2 Kings 6 :25 - 26 - And there was great famine (economic

downturn)... And as King of Israel was passing by upon the

wall, there cried a woman, saying, help my Lord, O

King…..

V 28: And the king said unto her, what aileth thee? And she

answered, this woman said unto me, give thy son that we

may eat him today and we will eat my son tomorrow.

V 29: So we boiled my son...

What could be critical? Yours might not be economic or

food crisis. What do you see? Then came the Prophet

Elisha to the scene and announced a turning point. thus said

the Lord, Tomorrow about this time, shall a measure of fine

flour be sold for a shekel, in the gate of Samaria. He

announced a change, a turn around, abundance.

Tomorrow: An appointment time or day

At the gate: A contact point

Those who saw it: Those who saw it believing ate but

those who saw it doubtfully did not eat of it. What do you

see? Seeing here is seeing or believing it before it appears

and not mere physical seeing after it happened. When you

go to a diamond or gold mine, some see stones while those

with foresight see raw wealth buried in the soil - a turning

point in a critical situation.

Turning point: It is an important moment of change that

marks the beginning of new and better era in your

developmental life. It is a point of positive change after

some time of stagnation. Drastic pronounced positive

change, glaring success signal. You can call it a miracle

point. It will be a miracle for a stone to fly but it is not a

miracle for a bird to fly. Call it divine intervention. When

the divine supernatural superimposes on the carnal natural,

naturals, you are lifted, elated, transformed, embarrassed

with Gods super blessings.

A critical point: Is an inter-phase between crisis and

normalcy, life and death, danger and safety, failure and

success. Critical point is a crisis full situation that increases

in intensity to a melting point or breakdown and failure

(Shutdown) or database collapse. It is a chain reaction of

linked chains of crisis upon crisis and crisis till final failure

or death. Marital crisis, family crisis, medical crisis,

business crisis, leadership crisis, or internal personal crisis.

At this point you have a turning point but there is always a

determinant factor involved. If you see it before it comes,

not after it has come, you’ll have it.

-The woman of issue of blood said if I can but touch the

helm of his garment my turning point will come (Mark

5:25-29). She touched and went from SICKNESS to health.

Are you sick, touch him from INSIDE YOU?

-Elisha turned from one portion anointing to double

portion anointing. He saw it (2 Kings 2:12). Is your lamp

dry? Watch and pray.

- Zacchaeus sought to see Jesus (Luke 19:3), He climbed

a tree to defeat his shortness and shortcomings – Jesus saw

him up there (Luke 19:5) and his turning point set in. Are

you height disadvantaged, climb up and higher to be

noticed?

- Joshua fight battles all his life to bring Israel out of

war crisis, from crisis to peace in time of Solomon.

- Dorcas: It took her positive response to poverty around

her by her good deed to get turning point. For the tears of

recipients of her good work brought her back from death

crisis to life. (Acts 9:36-40).

- Abraham Obeyed to leave his people into a promised

land (forbidding from going down to Egypt – strange land)

for his turning point to come He entered into the unknown

but he saw it even not knowing where he was going. He

went from poverty to wealth. For God prospered him (Gen.

12:4) He left without a child, barren (Gen. 11:30) but

turned a Father of many nations. You can have turning

point at whatever level of success you are for increase or

further increase.

I prophesy into your crisis. Let there be a turning point

now. Let there be turning point now in Jesus name.

Amen so be it.

For he that asketh receiveth …

- So if we don’t receive then there is a problem with the

asking. This is a two way traffic things – man on earth and

God in heaven, asking by man and receiving from God

(God giving to man).Man is the recipient. God is the giver.

It involves man’s nature (natural) and God’s nature

(divine).

-The asking attitude: To receive it must be with right

motive, right standing with God (called righteousness),right

positive belief (called faith) for he that cometh to him must

believe that He is. This comes down to the meaning of

asking – (Greek word meaning to demand and not begging)

-Sons demand their rights but servants’ beg. We have

the Sonship right. This is ordinary information level where

all we just do is ask–give me, give me. Children are always

asking. Thus is not maturity level. Children ask for

attention, ask for protection, ask for guidance. Of course it

is their right-the children’s bread. They cry and do a lot of

naughty things, because they are children.

-The asking fortitude: This is strength or stamina (at this

level) and endurance in a difficult or painful situation. This

involves determination, importunity, continuous faith

bearing, asking and not mental head asking. What is the

strength of your asking?

-The asking altitude: The height or end is just receiving so

what do you have that you did not receive. So you are not

the owner. What attitude or fortitude or altitude should we

assume - humble or arrogant, dependent or independent of

God, expectant or non-expectant spirit, faith based or fate-

based, heaven conscious or earthly sensual conscience?

Think on things above. .If you ask for bread, why would

you get stone? If you ask for fish, he will not give you

serpent .If you ask for egg, he will not give you

scorpion.

- Bread versus Stone: He is the bread of life. He is the

word of God. Men shall not live by physical starchy bread

alone but by the spiritual bread, the word of God (Matt.

4”4, Luke. 4:4). Ask for this bread, divine inspiration from

the word.

- Fish versus Serpent: Ask for fish. We are fishers of men.

How many fishes have you received into the kingdom since

you believed? A fish cannot escape the waters. That is

where it belongs - no double life like the serpent. The

serpent is subtle, selfish, camouflaged. What is your asking

attitude?

Egg versus Scorpion: What a comparison? Egg (yolk and

albumin) gives life but scorpion kills life. When you ask

how much more shall your heavenly Father give the Holy

Ghost (Luke. 11:13)? What relationship has the Holy Spirit

with bread, fish, and egg? He said those who ask will

receive the Holy Ghost. You need the Holy Ghost to live

daily in the realm of the miraculous provisions.

-The Power of Receiving from God: God’s love is

unconditional but his promises are attached to a condition.

Check any promise in the Bible. Even salvation you have to

accept Christ to be saved. To receive he says, ask (give and

it shall be given unto you). To be given unto he say give:

forgive and be forgiven. To reap sow, seedtime vs harvest

time, etc.

The receiving attitude: Be thankful. Receive with thanks.

10 lepers were cleansed? Only one came back to say thank

you.

Jesus answering them said, were there not ten cleansed?

But where are the nine? There are not found that returned

to give glory to God, save this stranger (Luke. 17:17- 18).

Believe that you receive (Mk. 11:24)

That is receiving it even before you see it. “Believing is

seeing” and not “seeing is believing.”

…when ye pray, believe that you receive them, and ye shall

have them (Mk. 11:24B).

- The Power of Seeking and Finding (Place of

Reformation Understanding)

… Seek and ye shall find (Luke. 11:9)... He that seeketh,

findeth (Lk.11:10).

Seeking in the original language is associated with “to

inquire”, search out, thinking, sought carefully, to require

or demand and zealously seek. While finding or to find is

associated with to learn, discover, procure, obtained or

refreshed in the spirit (find rest).

Seeking is higher realm of prayers than Asking. While

asking may deal with the informative level, Seeking deals

with understanding. “In understanding be men”. It is a level

deeper than the surface. Asking deals with give me, give

me – taking what the giver offers or promises but in

seeking the seeker move further to find out or

experience the giver and the power behind this will to

give. In asking he come receives and goes to come again

but the seeker abides. At asking level the Christian at this

level have no much to invest, but at the seeking level he

makes sacrifice, deny himself so as to find, discover or

procure. Those who seek him early will find him .We can

illustrate this with Jesus and the disciples – the 3, then the

12, the 70 and the multitude, each level having different

degrees of commitment and affinity to Jesus Christ.

For all the years you’ve been in the Lord, at what level of

prayer realm are you? Children always ask bread. The

Bible calls it the children’s bread but Heb. 5:14 says

“But strong meat belongs to them that are of Full age, even

those who by reason of use have their senses exercised to

design both good and evil.” Bones are for adult in Christ.

Physically you can be old but still a baby in the Lord.

Maturity is tested when problems come, how you control it

or does it control you?

Seeking involves separation, denial, fasting, discipline,

commitment, consistency, dedication in prayers. Seekers

go the extra mile; they pay a price for the price. Moses

went up tither, Daniel left the pleasure of the kings food

, Matthew says enter your closet, Jesus most times went

to the mountain or withdrew to the wilderness. John

was in the Island of Patmos. Paul said I know a man –

when he was caught up to the third heavens. This is the

realm of prayers where you find God, receive angelic

visitation, discover and rediscover who you are in Christ.

Where you abide under his shadow – He that dwelleth (not

come and go) in the secret place of the Almighty shall

abide (remain, find rest) under the covering shadow or

Shekinah glory of the almighty.

-The Power of Knocking and Open Doors (Place of

Transformation –wisdom). This is the place of faithfulness

rewarded. Little effort but plenty harvest. No asking, no

seeking but just knocking to get divine access. After the

level of what you know (information) to receiving, the level

of understanding (reformation) for seekers and finders, you

come to the level of full wisdom (Transformation) where

you have divine access (open doors) by just knocking. The

Christian at this prayer level has been transformed after

passing the lower prayer levels. Here you enter into the

realm of the Friends of God. God does nothing without

discussing it with his own. God discussed the overthrow

of Sodom with Abraham (Gen. 18:17).Here you enter your

rest. When Jesus entered here a voice from heaven

confirmed that “this is my beloved son in whom I am well

pleased”

“God moves in a mysterious way, his wonders to perform”. How a word spoken can bring into existence what does not exist, is mysterious. How new parts are created to replace malfunctioning ones in the anatomy of the human body by

words of faith is a wonder. How the ranging storm listened to and obeyed the words of Jesus to be calm. How the power of death uncased and released its captive, Lazarus, just because Jesus spoke the words of faith demanding his release. What is it in the words of Elijah that unlocked the heaven’s gate and sent fire down to earth? What is it in the words of Peter that sent Ananias and Sapphira packing from this earth to the great beyond? Words can be pregnant. Words can be potent, words can be vehicles, Words can be lethal, words can be creative if only ignited and activated by the substance called faith.

When a man with the Spirit of God and ruled by the Spirit of God, utters a God – motivated word, the heavens stand ajar and hell stands intimidated and defeated. Powerful men are only ordinary men of the supernatural God speaking faith words to create the supernatural.

WHAT IS FAITH?

Let us look at some operational and descriptive words in this line

Hebrew 11:11

Now faith is the substance (assurance) of things hoped for, the evidence (a conviction) of things not seen. (AKJV)

.Heb 11:11

Now faith is being sure of what we hope for and certain of what we do not see (NIV)

NOW (present tense) why use the word now at the beginning of a sentence? Without it the sentence will still be correct. “Now”, here, may show a kind of continuity from chapter 10:38 – the past shall live by faith that is to say that our life shall be a life of faith. Our words, behavior activities and reaction shall be dependent on God. Now he tries to explain what faith is. Now is present. It is a now

faith. There are no conditions attached for it to operate – it works under all normal and abnormal conditions.

FAITH IS (not was or will be). Faith is in the present, in the now. It is not in the past it continuously believing, even against all odds - emotional, psychological, spiritual or natural.

SUBSTANCE: It means the important part or quality, strength of things (Longmans Dict.) The Greek Dictionary defines it as confidence or assurance of things. Proverbs 3:9 says you should honor the Lord with thy substance (wealth – NIV). Same Hebrew translated bone, body and full is still translated as substance. So honor God with your person (subject and wealth)

EVIDENCE: This means a sign or proof, proving, or test of things not seen, a certainty of what we do not see. Now faith fully defined is faith in the now, not tomorrow. Faith is, present tense and not past tense. It is active and not passive. It involves acting, assurance, confidence in the now, of things wanted, desired in the future, something tangible, substantial in your belief that your hope must come to be.

There is proof, tested evidence or confirmation in the heart that those things hoped for, though at that time is not visibly seen or received, will come. For example you come into a room and see a chair and without a second thought you sit down because you believe that that chair will carry you and your weight and it did. That is natural faith.

We can now say that faith is compelling God to intervene and alter the course of nature or trend of things to the seekers expected desire, at the trusting and authoritative scriptural demand of the believer. faith is the substance (tangibility) of things hoped for (expected), the evidence (visibly felt) of things not seen (not visible).

I remember the case of where fire engulfed a whole building and people were running around to put it off. The inferno rather increased. Then came our pastor then and commanded the fire to quench and just like a play the whole flame went down. That was faith demonstrated. He appropriated the word of faith in his heart and called it into the physical visibly.

The dynamics of faith: Faith works in conjunction with and in these elements we are about to discuss, to manifest results.

Positive faith confession: My faith has evidential substance. It is active and not passive. It is in the now (Heb. 11:1). According to faith in the finished work of Christ l received total salvation (healing, good health, deliverance, prosperity etc. matt 9:29) in Jesus name.

Introduction

Many biblical proverbs have parallels in ancient Greece. “A soft answer turneth away wrath” was known to Aeschylus as well as to Solomon, and “Physician, heal thyself” (Luke 4:23) was also known to the Greeks.

“Proverbs are the palm oil with which words are eaten,” an Igbo proverb says. The art of conversation and argument depends, in fact, on their use. By them the speaker shows his learning. Use of proverbs also enables the speaker to attack an opponent obliquely, without mentioning his name or the subject of the dispute. Proverbs express not only a people's inherited wisdom and code of behavior (“If a child washes his hands, he will eat with kings” [Igbo]) but also imagination and sense of humors (“If the earthworm does not dance in front of the cock, he will still be eaten, but at least the cock cannot say that he was provoked” [Yoruba]). The largest collection of African proverbs, made by a Swiss Lutheran missionary, J.G. Christaller, and published at Basel in 1879, contains 3,600 in the Twi language of Ghana. (Encyclopedia Britannica)

As also explained in Encyclopedia Britannica proverbs are part of every spoken language and are related to such other

forms of folk literature as riddles and fables that have originated in oral tradition. Comparisons of proverbs universally show that the same grain of wisdom may be garnered under different cultural conditions and languages. The biblical proverb “An eye for an eye, a tooth for a tooth,” for example, has an equivalent among the Nandi of East Africa: “A goat's hide buys a goat's hide, and a gourd, a gourd.” Both form part of codes of behavior and exemplify the proverb's use for the transmission of tribal wisdom and rules of conduct. Though Jesus came and reversed an eye for an eye asking people to bless those that curse them. Often, the same proverb may be found in many variants. In Europe this may result from the international currency of Latin proverbs in the Middle Ages. The proverb known in English as “A bird in the hand is worth two in the bush” originated in Medieval Latin, and variants of it are found in Romanian, Italian, Portuguese, Spanish, German, and Icelandic.

Certain stylistic similarities have been found in proverbs from the same part of the world. Middle Eastern proverbs, for instance, make frequent use of exaggeration and colorful pictorial forms of expression. Typical is the proverbial Egyptian description of a lucky man: “Fling him in the Nile and he will come up with a fish in his mouth.” Classical Latin proverbs are typically concise and brief (e.g. Praemonitus, praemunitis; “forewarned is forearmed”). Many languages use rhyme, alliteration, and wordplay in their proverbs, as in the Scots “Many a mickle makes a muckle” (“Many small things make one big thing”). Folk proverbs are commonly illustrated with homely imagery—household objects, farm animals and pets, and daily occurrences.

Proverbs come from many sources, most of them anonymous and all of them difficult to trace. Their first appearance in literary form is often an adaptation of an oral

saying. Abraham Lincoln is said to have invented the saying about not swapping horses in the middle of the river, but he may only have used a proverb already current. Popular usage sometimes creates new proverbs from old ones; e.g., the biblical proverb, “The love of money is the root of all evil” has erroneously become “Money is the root of all evil.” Many still-current proverbs refer to obsolete customs. The common “If the cap fits, wear it,” for instance, refers to the medieval fool's cap. Proverbs sometimes embody superstitions (“Marry in May, repent always”), weather lore (“Rain before seven, fine before eleven”), or medical advice (“Early to bed, early to rise, makes a man healthy, wealthy, and wise”).

- The Locust being strong in flight teaches us the wisdom of using our strength when we have it (strong propelling movement)

- The Spider rich in treads teaches us the wisdom of continuous productions (building her web, defensive productions)

Definitions:

Proverb is defined as a one sentence utterance that holds the conventional wisdom of the ages. Imagery or images, symbolism or symbols, paintings or pictures, objects, words of wisdom, wise sayings, bible verses or knowledge of the grey hair and understanding of the elders spice up our lives with deep thoughts and powerful reasoning. They decorate our thoughts with glossy, golden foils and varieties

African proverbs are rich in verbal symbols, glyphs, imageries that enrich discussions and settling disputes seen with wise minds. We use proverbs to explain proverbs. African rich culture! Illiterate but informally educated men full of wise sayings, hard sayings that solve problems, dissolve doubts and quench fires.

Proverbs usage could be multifarious depending on situations and the user. One proverb can apply to different meanings and situations. Here we tried to give the meaning of each proverb as closely accurate as we could. Actually translating or transcribing the symbolism of these native languages and wisdom of our elders of ages past into English makes it lose its potency or weight as we mislay and misplace out some word strength. It is better spoken and understood in the native. However we have to share this rich way of life to help you understand people, circumstances and the true world we live in. Appendix A: Are You Born Again?

You must be born twice - the natural or biological birth and the spiritual birth before you can see the kingdom of God. Are you safe and saved? If the trumpet sounds now will you be taken? Is your name in the book of life? Where will you go when you die - heaven or hell? Tell yourself the truth, and do something about your situation. Heaven is a prepared place and for prepared people. Hell is also prepared place and for unprepared people. Do you want to be born again? Then

1. RECOGNISE YOURSELF AS A SINNER

- For all have sinned and come short of the glory of God - Rom. 3:23.

- You are a sinner by birth for in sin did your mother conceive you- Psalm 51:5

- You are a sinner by choice for all we like sheep have gone astray. Isaiah53:6; Rom.6:23.

2. REPENT AND BELIEVE IN JESUS CHRIST

-Repent you therefore, and be converted that you sins may be blotted out, Act 3:19.

3. CONFESS YOUR SINS

-With godly sorrow confess your sins and tell God you are sorry. Ask him to forgive you all. 1 John.1:9.

4. ACCEPT JESUS CHRIST INTO YOUR HEART.

- Say this sinner’s Prayer - Lord Jesus, I thank you for forgiving me according to your word. Come into my heart. Be my savior and Lord. Remove my name from the book of

death and write it in the book of life. By faith I believe I am saved, Amen.
