A 'Major Label' is the name given to those labels that currently control over 80% of the records sold every year in

this country.

They run 90% of the music industry where the independent run the 10%.

The big 3 are :Universal Music Group(37%), Sony Music(34%) and Warner Music(19%).

MAJOR LABEL

Universal music group controls 37% of the music industry. They keep this up by having many subsidiary labels. Some

of them has become a big label in he music industry for example Def Jam.
