Above—Richard Rodenbeck built this Solo Carry using Hilary Rus-sell’s two-part article (WB Nos. 205–6). The canoe has an LOA of 11' 6" and a 28" beam, and weighs 33 lbs. The ribs are oak and the trim cherry, and the hull is skinned in 8-oz nylon and coated with water-based polyurethane. Richard’s granddaughter, Sophie, enjoys paddling the canoe near her home in Fort Wayne, Indiana.
Below—Frank Blair’s schooner, FARFARER, was designed by Nigel Irens and built by Covey Island Boatworks in Lunen-burg, Nova Scotia. She has an LOD of 57' 8" and a 14' 8" beam. Her strip-planked hull was made from 136-year-old timbers salvaged from the site of the 9/11 attacks. Home is Port Mahon, Delaware. Contact Covey Island Boatworks, www.coveyisland.com.
Above—NAUGHTY NEUSE is an Ocean Pointer center-console outboard skiff designed by David Stimson and built by John Sheldon Shikoluk. Her LOA is 19' 6" and her beam is 6' 9". The hull is strip-planked in Southern yellow pine, fastened with bronze ring nails, then sheathed in 10-oz ’glass and epoxy. Home port is the Neuse River in North Carolina. Contact Stimson Marine Inc., 207–633–6534.
Right—POGO is a Harry Bryan–designed Ladybug pram (see WB No. 209) built by Harvey Robinson of Galveston, Texas. Her LOA
is 7', and she has a 40" beam. Harvey used plywood over cedar frames for construction, but decided against the designer’s wheel
and oar transport apparatus. For plans, contact Harry Bryan, 329 Mascarene Rd., Letete, NB, E5C 2P6, Canada. M
