2. Theodor Seuss Geisel
Geisel, better known as Dr. Seuss, held many jobs including
cartoonist and advertiser. Dr. Seuss is best remembered for his
work as an author of numerous childrens books.

3. Overview
The Lorax was published in 1971 by Dr. Seuss (a.k.a. Theodor Seuss
Geisel).The story begins with the Once-ler arriving in a new and
beautiful land, which he soon takes over as he creates and markets
the Thneed, a thing everyone needs, from the natural resource known
as the Truffla Tree. The Once-lersindustrious and greedy ways soon
leads to the loss of Truffula Trees and wide-spread pollution
forcing native creatures from their habitats.Ignoring the warnings
by the Lorax, a creature that speaks for the trees, the Once-ler is
soon left with total destruction and only one seed from the final
Truffula Tree.

Through a kid-friendly picture book, Seuss inspires young and old
alike to consider their industrious actions that deplete an
environments natural resources.The Loraxis a picture book that
could kick off a study of the earths natural resources, earth
systems, or conservation.

innovative project launched in 2008 by Dr. Seuss Enterprises and
Random House publishers of The Lorax, written by Dr. Seuss in 1971.
