Parkside Ave. Lombard, IL 60148 MEMORIAL TREES The Lombard Park District initiated its Memorial Tree Program in 1974 to provide people with the opportunity to plant memorial trees for their loved ones and to commemorate special events and occasions. TYPES OF TREES All selections are subject to approval by the Park District. The cost of trees varies according to the season and size of the tree. As a result, the price is given in a range. The actual price is determined on what is available at the nursery. For more information or to check availability, call (630) 629-3344. LOCATION OF TREES Trees may be planted in any park with the exception of Lilacia Park. The placement of the tree within the park will be determined by the Park District. PLAQUES Memorial and commemorative plaques may be placed at the base of a tree with prior Park District approval. The Park District does not supply or install plaques and is not responsible for lost or damaged plaques. PLANTING TIME Because of tree availability and optimal transplanting times vary according to the tree selected, the Park District will determine the best time to ensure proper growth and success of the tree. Generally, early spring and fall are good planting times. DISTRICT OBLIGATION In the event that a tree dies within the first two years after planting, the Park District will replace it. After two years, a tree will only be replaced if a request is made by the person who made the original donation. If at any time the Park District must remove a healthy tree, the tree will be replanted in another location.
