Whole Building HireThe award-winning Lightbox is a gallery and museum built in 2007 by Marks Barfield architects, the innovative designers who also built the London Eye. The building has three stunning gallery spaces, a local history museum, a conference room, a Shop and a licenced ground floor Café Bar which opens onto a picturesque courtyard on the banks of the Basingstoke Canal.

The whole building is available for hire on Mondays or in the evening after 5.30pm, entitling you and your guests to exclusive access of all areas of the venue, including our galleries and exhibitions, Café, courtyard and the Ambassador conference room. This all-inclusive service allows you and your guests the unforgettable opportunity to experience The Lightbox in its entirety.

Daytime (8am - 5pm): £2500 (Mondays only)

Evening (5.30pm - 11.30pm): £1500

The Ambassador Room offers state of the art facilities in an environment that lends itself to creative thinking. With views over the Basingstoke Canal from the floor to ceiling window and displays of Modern British and Contemporary art on the walls, this is a space where ideas and learning come to life. This purpose-built corporate hospitality suite is ideal for seminars, conferences, meetings and private functions. A built in screen, projector and dedicated wifi are all available at no extra cost.

The Lightbox’s contemporary galleries are a fantastic setting for hosting anything from business networking events to intimate gatherings and special occasions. These dynamic spaces are full of light and high quality art which are a talking point long-after an event. Presenting a diverse range of art exhibitions featuring world-renowned artists, the gallery spaces are ideal for events as sparkling as the champagne being served.

Our spacious Café is a light and social space with double doors which open onto a large courtyard on the banks of the attractive Basingstoke canal. The Café has a fully licenced bar and catering can be provided to suit any occasion from party finger-food to a gourmet sit-down dinner.

This highly flexible space is suitable for everything from intimate get-togethers to large events.

Our dedicated Venue Hire team provide a high quality service which can be adapted to suit a range of requirements to ensure that the needs of your event are always met.

Hire fees indicated include the Café, the ground floor and courtyard

Getting HereConveniently located in Woking, The Lightbox is situated two minutes walk from the town centre and five minutes walk from Woking station.

By Train: Woking station is just a five-minute walk from The Lightbox. Signs will direct you from the town centre exit (on platform 1).

By Car: Our postcode often shows us on the opposite side of Chobham road. We are on the Horsell West side of Chobham Road, situated between Victoria Way and the Basingstoke canal. There are several offsite car parks nearby and The Lightbox is signposted from all three. These car parks are public and therefore not free of charge: Brewery Road, Victoria Way and the Peacocks Centre.
