The Sailhamer RoomThe Sailhamer Room is home to the personal library of Dr. John H. Sailhamer, presented to the Library at Southeastern by his wife, Patty Sailhamer, in honor of his teaching and scholarship.

The collection is significant for its rare volumes documenting the history of Old Testament interpretation in post-Reformation Europe, which ggreatly influenced present day evangelicalism. Dr. Sailhamer’s teaching and scholarship focuses on the Old Testament and particularly the Pentateuch. His deep conviction was to pursue the inspired biblical author’s intent and compositional strategy, believing that ultimately, as God speaks to His readers through the written text of scripture, the unified message of the Messianic promise can be heard.
