Mr. and Mrs. W. H. Snyder and son Glen returned last week from their auto trip to Audubon, Iowa, Os- ceola and Fairbury, Neb., where they visited with friends. Mr. Snyder says crops in that part of Nebraska are looking fine. Mr. and Mrs. Al Woodard returned last Wednesday from a trip to Buf- falo Lake, Minn., where they went to look after the estate of Mrs. Wood- ard's father, who died owning over six hundred acres of fine land, and Mrs. Woodard is one of the three heirs to the estate. Rev. C. S. Marsolf went to Prince­ton, Mo., Monday to try and secure carpenters to work on tne new Pres­byterian church, several who were working on the church having gone to Des Moines to work at the army camp.

Walter H. Dewey, postmaster of Chariton, was a visitor in Leon Sun­day, having motored down, and when we saw him he was pretty hot under the collar, for his auto had picked up three nails on a Decatur coupty road that day.

Mrs. Nan Price, of Winnipeg, Mani­toba, visited Saturday and Sunday at the home of her friend, Mrs. Jas. F. Harvey, in this city. Mr. and Mrs. Harvey drove her to Des Moines Sun­day evening where she took a train For home.

Geo. T. Ogilvie motored to Des Moines Friday and returned Saturday morning, accompanied by Mrs. Ogil­vie, who had been in Des Moines for several weeks, with her son Claude, who was operated upon at the Luth­eran hospital, and is getting along very nicely.

H. C. Watson departed Friday for his home at Gillespie, Illinois, hav­ing been here to visit his father, Jesse Watson, who has been a pa­tient at the Leon hospital for sever­al weeks, suffering from an infected foot, which is now improving.

Harry Swanson, who had been visiting at the home of his parents, Mr. and Mrs. Charles Swanson, in this city, went to Des Moines Friday for a short visit before returning to Chicago where he is employed in the office of the American Express Co.

Mr. and Mrs. W. H. Snyder and son Glen returned last week from their auto trip to Audubon, Iowa, Os­ceola and Fairbury, Neb., where they visited with friends. Mr. Snyder says crops in that part of Nebraska are looking fine.

Mr. and Mrs. Al Woodard returned last Wednesday from a trip to Buf­falo Lake, Minn., where they went to look after the estate of Mrs. Wood-ard's father, who died owning over six hundred acres of fine land, and Mrs. Woodard is one of the three heirs to the estate.

Mr. and Mrs. John Smith, of Cald­well, Kansas, who had been visiting for a few days at the home of his sis­ter, Mrs. J. H. Evans, in this city re­turned to their home Monday. It had been thirteen years since they were in Leon, and Mr. Smith noted, many changes here.

F. M. Coder returned Tuesday ev­ening from Des Moines where he had been visiting a few days with Mrs. Coder, who is a patient at the Pres­byterian hospital in that city, recov­ering from an operation, and reports that she is making a rapid recovery and will shortly be able to return home.
