The game soon became a customer favorite as players purchased Truck$ & Buck$ tickets for a chance to win a new vehicle. The first truck winner was Mike Firestone of Lincoln, who received a 1997 Ford F-150 Super Cab 4x4 in June 1996. Since then, dozens of Ford, Chevrolet, Dodge, and Toyota vehicles have been given away to lucky players each year. For 2015, the Nebraska Lottery is launching the 20th edition of Truck$ & Buck$. Players have the opportunity to win one of three Ford F-150 trucks as well as cash and ethanol-enriched fuel prizes. The truck prize is valued at $52,000, which includes $1,813 for costs associ- ated with ownership and state and federal withholding paid by the Nebraska Lottery of $2,600 and $13,000, respectively. Another Ford F-150 will be available to win in the Truck$ & Buck$ Second-Chance Giveaway. Between February 9 and May 13, players can enter $10 worth of eligible non-winning $2 Scratch tickets for a chance to win a new truck. Two drawings will be held to select the 10 semifinalists, who will compete in the Grand Prize event on June 6 at Haymarket Park in Lincoln. While claiming his prize on December 24, Evans told Nebraska Lottery officials that he doesn’t have a retailer where he regularly buys his tickets. “I must have had a good feelingabout that store,” said Evans. “After Iscratched off the ticket, I had to go backthrough and double-check each number.Then I realized I had the blackout!” Heplans to save his winnings for the future.
