Mike’s Corner - a word from our club President
Want to take a moment to once again thank all the Northern Knights that showed up on June 20th for the sale of Ron Carrolls planes and equipment. The day seemed to go very smoothly with everyone going home with their treasures
and smiles on their faces. By the time you are reading this the following weekend June 27th will have happened and is open to other clubs. Not having any idea how many guys to expect, it may prove out to be more of a zoo. Guess it will be a wait and see situation.
All in all the flying weather thus far in June has been fairly good. We did get some complaints early on about the height and how thick the grass was. Charlie Moubry sprayed the field and Pitts for weeds and clover. It took a couple weeks and a chat with our mowing guy, but the field is much better to fly off of now
Our first meeting back together at the field went fairly smooth and a bit longer than normal given we had a lot to talk about and catch up on. Also I managed to get the normal order of things really messed up, I shall effort to correct that at our July meeting on the 9th at 7:00pm at the field.
I know you think this is a broken record, but I gotta keep pounding this about being certain to keep our gate lock securely locked onto both ends of the chain both entering and leaving. We have lost locks in the past, let's not let that happen anymore.

THE KNIGHT FLYER 2
July 17-18 will be our club Pro Bro. This is the time I start encouraging all of you to come sign up as a pilot and pay the landing fee of $25. For this you will get lunch and dinner on Saturday, all the water you can drink for the two days and lots of flying time with friends. Hopefully at our July meeting Gary will have a list of jobs that we will need volunteers to fill. This event is our clubs biggest fund raiser of the year and when it is successful we all win and we are able to keep our yearly dues low. So come on out and support your club in this event !!!!!
Guess that's it for now, see ya at the July meeting. Bring those model projects to show off.
Mike

THE KNIGHT FLYER 4
ARF Mike Coyne with his Rapsody. I obtained this biplane from Goebel James who told me he just did not like the plane. I immediately replaced the motor with a G-32, 60 Amp speed control flying a 3700 mah 4cell and a 13X6 electric prop. These changes balanced the plane and it flies quite nicely.
Scratch Built
Ron Williams wins with his very detailed A6M2 Japanese Zero he built from Airage plans. Ron also had quite a history to share about the real plane that was discovered at Pearl Harbor. Great job on this model Ron !
Kit
Got to bring ‘em to win!
