    Money Matter$ in Ministry

We need to be smart in how we manageGods money. In Jesus parable of the unjuststeward, He commended the unjust steward

for being shrewd in how he managed hisavailable resources (Luke 16:8).

Here are two smart things you can do withGods money.

    1) Check the interest rate on your churchsmortgage. If it is above 5% you shouldcheck into renewing your mortgage to alower rate.

    2) Check what rate your bank is paying youfor any money you have in savings. Thencheck with AG Financial Services. I amsure they can pay you a significantly higherrate on money you invest with them in a 30Day Demand Savings Account, or one oftheir other investment plans. The AGFinancial Representative for Kentucky isPhil Pierce. You can contact him at866-720-1225 [email protected].

When it comes toMoney Matter$ inMinistry, God expects us to be smart with

    His money.

The Back Porch is a wonderful place to just sit and share things like, coffee, sweet tea, monkey bread, ice cream, fellowship, stories, naps and occasionally

some personal, serious thoughts. This is one.

Once upon a time a pastor had a dream. He was the pastor of the Church-in-he-Round. The newest and biggest church in town. The doors were built intohe cut and style of the building but clearly marked, Entrance, EveryoneWelcome. The altar was the center piece of the church. It was always filledwith the church folks seeking, praying, looking for God to pour out blessingsbeyond measure. He was and is and will.

The services were electrifying and fresh, the preaching, powerful. Christianscame from miles around just to be a part of what was going on. Wonderfulhings were taking place. For Christians.

The Pastor assigned keepers to watch the doors to welcome people as theycame in. Trouble was, so many wonderful things were happening around thealtars the keepers would leave the doors to get as close to the altar as they

could and periodically look back to see if anyone was coming but their heartswere down at the altar where all the good stuff was happening.

The pastor noticed that many came to the door but didnt come in. They keptgroping for the entrance. What was wrong? Couldnt they see the doors in plainsight? On a closer look he saw they were blind. The pastor awoke with tearslooding his eyes. He cried, God have mercy on our souls. We long so much for

the blessings for ourselves that we have forgotten what it means for a soul tolost.

End of the story.. or is it?

Have we as congregations, become more blind than the ones seeking the doall wrapped up in our worship and prayer needs that we neglect to see themultitudes of blind and lost souls?

We need sentries at the doors reaching out to the blind and lost. We needworshipers at the altar to bring down the power of Gods Holy Spirit to not onbless, heal and empower, but convict unsaved souls in the pews.

Our sole purpose, if Im not mistaken, is to win the lost, disciple and to send.

Why are we not seeing more souls saved? Could it be that our services aregeared for us and not for the ones we are seeking to save? Are our servicessinner sensitive? Have we forgotten what its like to walk into a church wheyou know few if any, with no idea as to what is going on or why? Have we

forgotten how it feels to be convicted and not know what to do about it?Praise and Worship should be all about HIM but have we allowed it to becommore about US with little or no thought about THEM!

There is nothing more exciting than to see people find the joy of salvation in services or one to one outside the box.

May the Lord give you souls. Love ya, JP
