Pavlovian Conditioning affecting the emotional reaction.The little Albert Experiment.

In the controversial albeit interesting experiment, Little Albert 9-11 months was

conditioned to develop a fear of white rats. Fear/startling at loud noises, is an innate

unconditioned response.

Little Albert was unafraid of white rats and furry objects.

As he was playing with a white rat, a loud noise with a hammer was created in the

background, Little Albert started crying in fright.

This was repeated.

Later, when Albert would see a white rat(or even other furry objects) he would

begin to cry and show fear, while earlier he was unafraid of them.

In Ader and Cohen’s experiment the pairing of Saccharin (conditioned stimuli) and cyclophosphamide (unconditioned stimuli)in rats of group A; resulted in immunosuppression being documented in those rats with SACCHARIN ALONE.

Even more path breaking is when the findings were replicated in SEDATED rats, confirming that the conditioning involves ONLY the Automatic/Unconscious Brain.

IS THIS THE EXPLANATION TO THE ORIGIN OF DISEASE?

UNCONSCIOUS CONDITIONING which occurs in early childhood and is strengthened by repetition, is the 'DISEASE STATE'.
