This is my mother, Georgia Jenkins. She started her very own bakery when she was just in her twenties. She’d never had a job before, but her love of all things cuisine made her a great bakery owner. Although it was a ton of work, my mom Georgia completely enjoyed all the challenges being a business woman.

Page 3: The Jenkins Legacy: Chapter One

My mother may have been extremely busy and spending all of her time at Georgia’s Peaches and Pies, but she wasn’t too busy to find love. She hired a maid, Alvin Schweber, to keep her large home spic and span while she was away selling cakes and pies. She soon came to be quick friends with Alvin and that friendship turned to love.

Page 4: The Jenkins Legacy: Chapter One

It didn’t take long before my father ditched his last name and became Alvin Jenkins. He also traded in his mop and broom for a new life helping my mom with her store. Since my dad knew how to bake, he helped my mom make all sorts of cakes, pies and crepes. This way my mom could focus on the customer and help her store flourish!

Page 5: The Jenkins Legacy: Chapter One

Georgia’s Peaches and Pies was becoming such a popular bakery that, even with my father Alvin’s help, my mother could hardly keep up with the demand from her customers! She certainly knew how to sell a cheesecake or two, but the problem was keeping them in stock long enough to sell. Needless to say, business was booming and my mother, being the only person to work in the bakery, was making a huge profit!

Page 6: The Jenkins Legacy: Chapter One

So, business was great, my father found a new job in his desired military career. He still helped my mom with the baking, but spent more time working towards his own goals in life as well. Needless to say, they were a very busy couple. That is when I came along. They named me Adelle and I was the light of their lives!

Page 7: The Jenkins Legacy: Chapter One

Mom took a lot of time away from the store to raise me and teach me things only a mother can teach. Once I started school, she finally did go back to work only to find that business was still growing. Not being her young twenty-something self anymore was catching up to her. She suddenly found that she might just need some help.

Page 8: The Jenkins Legacy: Chapter One

Throughout high school I helped my mom with Georgia’s Peaches and Pies, but once I went off to college I ditched the bakery to pursue my own dreams. My father had finally reached the top of his military career and shortly after, he retired to replace my short shifts helping mom at her shop.

Page 9: The Jenkins Legacy: Chapter One

I guess you could say I’m not your normal college student. I don’t like to party, although I do like to meet people. One day I hope to settle down with the man of my dreams and raise a few good kids*. I stay out of the whole nightclub scene, but I still go out once my schoolwork is completed. I enjoy spending time playing pool or cards in the card shacks and of course I keep my eye out for any cuties, like the bartender at the card shack Alon.

*Adelle is a family/fortune aspiration combo.

Page 10: The Jenkins Legacy: Chapter One

Much to my surprise, the very night I met Alon, the bartender, he called me to chat. I hadn’t expected a phone call so soon, but I guess I should have seen it coming. We had certainly hit it off right away and we had a ton in common.

Page 11: The Jenkins Legacy: Chapter One

Although I was enjoying talking with Alon on the phone, I still hung out with friends my age too. My classmates, Tammy and Avri, were my closest friends in school. Because they both lived in dorms, it was easier (and much cozier) to hang out at my house in the evenings. We all got along great, so we always had a nice time together.

Page 12: The Jenkins Legacy: Chapter One

Tammy, being a bit of a nerd, usually missed out on the fun and silly things Avri and I enjoyed. She’d rather keep her nose stuck in the book to ace her next test than to ditch the work and enjoy being a kid again.

Page 13: The Jenkins Legacy: Chapter One

Even though I was a sophomore in college, I still had NO idea what I wanted to do career wise after graduation. I figured a literature major would be diverse enough to get a well paying job, but really I just hope to settle down and be a nice stay at home soccer mom and a loving wife to my future husband.

Page 14: The Jenkins Legacy: Chapter One

Alon and I talked usually every night on the phone, but lately I’ve noticed Avri calls me a lot more. I don’t mind this though, because I think Avri is very handsome and maybe one day I’ll get the guts to tell him that. For now, I stick to just being friends.

Page 15: The Jenkins Legacy: Chapter One

On the nights that Alon is not working, he comes over to spend some more time with me. I really enjoy having Alon as my best friend. I can tell him anything in the world without him judging me. And we always have a blast, no matter what we do.

Page 16: The Jenkins Legacy: Chapter One

Over dinner I told Alon about my secret crush on Avri. Alon just laughed and passed it off as a college crush. I laughed with him, but didn’t say anything more about Avri. Instead I told him how thankful I was to have him as my very best friend in the whole world. I figured this would make Alon smile, but he just looked a little. . . sad.

Page 17: The Jenkins Legacy: Chapter One

That night when Alon and I were hugging goodbye, he said he was happy that I had my eye on someone. Being almost a junior in college, he said it’s time I start looking for someone. It felt great to have my best friend’s approval, but somehow it felt a little odd.

Page 18: The Jenkins Legacy: Chapter One

After my dinner night with Alon, I finally got the guts to tell Avri how I felt. Good thing I did too, because it turns out, he felt the same way! I was so happy to hear that and happy that I was somebody’s girlfriend. Who knew where this would lead?! :)

Page 19: The Jenkins Legacy: Chapter One

I guess Avri could tell exactly how I was feeling, because at that moment he pulled me close, looked into my eyes and told me how beautiful I was. I know I was blushing, because nobody besides Alon had told me that. And Alon had to tell me I looked good because he was my best friend! Then, Avri kissed me! I would have been happy for it to go on forever.

Page 20: The Jenkins Legacy: Chapter One

With my love life finally taking off, a best friend by my side no matter what and fantastic grades, I decided I had something to celebrate. So I invited Alon, Avri and my parents over for a party. It was so great to see my parents! My mom, a little gray haired with age and the stress of being a business woman, told me how proud she was of me. My father echoed her thoughts of course.

Page 21: The Jenkins Legacy: Chapter One

Introducing my parents to Alon and Avri was easy. Introducing Alon to Avri was a little more tense. They both smiled and shook hands, but it seemed a tad forced. So to cut the tension, I let Avri get to know my parents a little, then Alon and I snuck off for a drink and some time to catch up on what was new.

Page 22: The Jenkins Legacy: Chapter One

Avri didn’t let me be alone with Alon for too long. I was a little sad that I didn’t get to spend more time with my best friend, but all that sadness was chased away once Avri put his lips on mine. It was like magic kissing him. Maybe it’s because he was the only person I’d kissed, maybe not. All I knew was that I was falling hard for Avri. And I could tell how protective he was when I was with Alon, that Avri felt the same way.

Page 23: The Jenkins Legacy: Chapter One

That very night after the party was done and Avri was helping me clean up all the red plastic cups, I decided that, even though we hadn’t been dating long, I was going to propose. I had a gut feeling about Avri, I knew we were meant to be together. He obviously felt the same way, because he said yes!

Page 24: The Jenkins Legacy: Chapter One

Although I was dying inside to call my parents and Alon to share the good news, Avri had other plans for the rest of the evening. “I’ll love you forever and ever, babe.” He whispered in my ear before we shared our very first special time with each other.

Page 25: The Jenkins Legacy: Chapter One

The morning after our engagement Avri moved into my college home. I was thrilled to be able to be around my smooth talking, romantic* fiancé twenty four seven!

*Avri Wilson is a Romance aspiration.

Page 26: The Jenkins Legacy: Chapter One

Living with the one you love certainly has benefits! I get to enjoy a very long and satisfying good night kiss before bed each night. Then we tuck ourselves beside each other and into my pretty pink covers and slip away into good dreams.

Page 27: The Jenkins Legacy: Chapter One

When I finally called Alon to spread the great news about my engagement to Avri, he wasn’t as thrilled as I expected him to be. I thought he would jump for joy with me. Instead he said, “You’re making a mistake. I really don’t think he is the one for you, Adelle.”

I got so mad when he said this, I just hung up the phone. It completely ruined my good mood and unfortunately for my poor lawn flamingos, I took my anger out on them. How could my very best friend in the world not support me on my choice to marry the love of my life!?

Page 28: The Jenkins Legacy: Chapter One

“He’s jealous, Adelle. That’s why he isn’t happy for you – for us! Alon has always had a crush for you, I can see it when he looks at you. Why do you think I don’t like you being alone with him for too long? I don’t trust him with you.” Avri and I discussed what had happened on the phone with Alon earlier. “In fact, Adelle, I shouldn’t trust any man with you. You’re sexy enough to break down any man’s self control. In fact, come here. . .” And then the kissing started and all my worries about Alon left my head. Avri was good at taking my mind off things when he started kissing me :)

Page 29: The Jenkins Legacy: Chapter One

The next morning my mind was back to Alon and our fight. I didn’t want to be fighting with him, not talking to my very best friend was hard. I tried instead to focus on my schoolwork. When that didn’t work, I invited Tammy to come with me to the library so I could get out of the house. Avri said he was going to invite some guy friends over anyway, so I figured he would want the house to himself and his friends.

Page 30: The Jenkins Legacy: Chapter One

When Tammy and I were finished writing papers at the library, I called Avri to let him know I was coming home. Avri’s voice seemed a little strained. And then I heard why. I heard a woman’s voice in the background, “I’m going to take off now Avri Bear. See you soon,” and then something that sounded like a kiss on the cheek! I hung up the phone as fast as I could. Guys night – right, whatever! He had a woman over in MY house!

Page 31: The Jenkins Legacy: Chapter One

Avri wasn’t home when I got back from the library. Even though I just got done hanging out with Tammy, I immediately called her to tell her what I heard, “Can you believe he would have the nerve to bring a girl into my house!?” “I heard through the grapevine that it wasn’t just a girl, it was actually his theatre professor! You don’t think he’s seriously got something going on with that old hag, do you Adelle?”“I really don’t know, Tammy. I’m so mad right now, I can’t get this picture out of my head. I really hope he wouldn’t cheat on me. We’re supposed to be getting married once we graduate!”

Page 32: The Jenkins Legacy: Chapter One

Never in my life had I needed Alon more than that night. It sucked to be fighting with my best friend just because he didn’t approve of my fiancé. And apparently, maybe he’d been right all along. Maybe Avri wasn’t good for me. I slept alone that night. Avri didn’t come home until after I’d locked the bedroom door. I really didn’t care to see him right then anyway. I needed time to think.

Page 33: The Jenkins Legacy: Chapter One

I woke up once I heard the door handle jiggling. Avri was trying to open the door. Once he realized I’d locked him out, he sighed and went to sleep on the couch. Maybe a night on the couch would do him good. Even if he wasn’t cheating on me, it would teach him to call and let me know he had a woman over. If he was cheating, it would be the first of many, many nights on the couch.

Page 34: The Jenkins Legacy: Chapter One

I still wasn’t talking to Avri the following day. He went to stay with a friend since I was giving him the silent treatment. I secretly prayed he was with a guy friend. I called Alon that night to talk. “You were right all along, Alon. Avri cheated on me. Tammy heard from some classmates that he was bragging on campus about making out with his theatre professor to earn a good grade. I don’t know what to do.” “You should talk to him about it, Adelle. You love him, even now I see that. Maybe Tammy is exaggerating. Maybe Avri was trying to brag and it got out of hand. You’ll never know until you talk to him about it,” Alon tried to comfort me.

Page 35: The Jenkins Legacy: Chapter One

“I want to believe it’s all not true, but we both know it’s possible,” I started, “Oh, you knew all along that he was this way. I should have known not to get engaged to a romance aspiration sim! I’d be much better off marrying someone like you. Like in the movies, when the girl loves her best friend.” I laughed at the idea, but stroked Alon’s cheek anyway. Avri was right, Alon did love me, I could see it in his eyes too. I was surprised it’d taken me this long to notice.

Page 36: The Jenkins Legacy: Chapter One

Alon pushed my hand away, “You’d better stop Adelle. What if Avri walked in right now and saw us this way. He’d think you were the one cheating and he’d never let you see me again. Besides, you’ll regret saying these things to me later. You love Avri, and you need to talk things through with him.” He didn’t say it in a mean way, just a very wise, knowing way. “You know I love you Adelle, and I want you to be happy. Let me know how things work out for you. I’m just a phone call away, you know that. And, Delle, I’m glad you asked me to come see you. I’ve sure hated having you not talk to me!” Alon hugged me tight and then left me alone to make a huge choice: call Avri or not?

Page 37: The Jenkins Legacy: Chapter One

“Adelle, I’m so glad you let me come back home. I’ve missed you and that hot body of yours! I can’t believe you would think I’d cheat on you. Why would I risk our relationship over some old lady professor,” Avri had come back home the minute I’d called him to explain everything. So far it was sounding good, “Instead of inviting over the guys, I had Professor Heather come over to discuss my grades.”

Page 38: The Jenkins Legacy: Chapter One

“You see, babe, my grades have been falling. I wanted to make sure I’d graduate on time so we could both move out together, back to you’re family and get married. That’s all I want, to marry you and make you mine forever. I love you, Adelle.” And I was convinced. I couldn’t believe I’d ever thought he was cheating on me. Alon was right, it was all a big misunderstanding. Thankfully I was able to talk to Avri before graduation. We walked together, threw our hats in the air and rushed home to call a cab. We were going back home to have the best wedding ever! And I couldn’t wait!

Page 39: The Jenkins Legacy: Chapter One

It was a very long cab ride home from campus, but Avri and I finally made it back home to my parents. I rushed inside to greet my mom with a big hug and kiss. We had so much to catch up on, I was dying to tell her what happened before graduation. Although, I was a little worried about her reaction. Would she, like Tammy and so many other of my class mates, think Avri was cheating on me?

Page 40: The Jenkins Legacy: Chapter One

“Hm, that does sound a little odd. But I’ve seen the way you and Avri act with each other. You two are more in love than hormonal teenagers in high school. I don’t know him very well yet, but it doesn’t seem to me that he’d risk a relationship with you over an eighty year old woman!” My mother Georgia was very soothing. As I began telling her the story of hearing a woman’s voice on the phone when Avri was supposed to be with the guys, my mother didn’t take it well. But she let me finish and felt the same as Alon, the same as I did – we all felt secure that it was a misunderstanding.

Page 41: The Jenkins Legacy: Chapter One

After our chat, Mom quickly put me to work. She informed me that she was planning a big surprise party for my father that very evening! Talk about a homecoming – I barely had time to unpack my bags before she had me making meals.

She said the guest list wasn’t too big, so I didn’t go all out. I stuck to fixing a nice salmon dish. Just a few friends from Georgia’s Peaches and Pies, and of course mom invited Alon. She adored my best friend as much as I did.

Page 42: The Jenkins Legacy: Chapter One

Mom may have underestimated on the guest list. Once I saw that she’d invited half of the Cooke family – the family that spent the most money in Georgia’s Peaches and Pies – my best friend Alon and my college friend Tammy, who was the informant of the supposed affair with Avri and his professor, I knew it was going to be a long and probably awkward night.

Page 43: The Jenkins Legacy: Chapter One

I hadn’t seen my best friend since the night I invited him over to chat about Avri and the possible cheating scandal. It was great to talk with him and let him know things were running smoothly. I told him that Avri and I were planning a very intimate family only wedding for the following day. I just couldn’t wait any longer to get married to my true love. In a way I’m almost glad we went through a tough time together – it kind of made us stronger because of it. Alon offered his congratulations and my last hug with him as an unwed woman.

Page 44: The Jenkins Legacy: Chapter One

My father was very surprised when he woke up from his nap and came downstairs expecting dinner and a small birthday cake. He found Eddison Cooke, Eddison’s son and daughter in law Felix and Tori, their youngest son Frank, Tammy and Alon all waiting with noise makers in hand to wish him a happy birthday. The birthday party was a huge success, my father was surprised and he aged into a handsome old man!

Page 45: The Jenkins Legacy: Chapter One

See, not too shabby, eh? I’d like to say I look like my father, but that’s a lie. The only thing I inherited from him was my dark freckles and brown hair! Other than that, I’m all my mom’s child!

Page 46: The Jenkins Legacy: Chapter One

The day after my father’s birthday, and the day of my wedding, my mother left the house to spend a few hours at Georgia’s Peaches and Pies. It’s a good thing she showed too, because there was a food critic there taking down notes on the stores cleanliness, how helpful the staff – or in this case, my mother, since she’s the only staff – is and how well the customers are taken care of. Before Heidi, the critic left, she let my mother know she was going to write a great review!

Page 47: The Jenkins Legacy: Chapter One

When my mother got home I was already dressed in my gown, veil and had my hair let out of it’s usual braid. I could tell my mother was a little nervous because she kept fidgeting with my veil,

“Are you sure you want to go through with this. I’ve been thinking about what you told me about Avri and his professor. It is a little fishy. Maybe it is possible he had an affair. Did you think it over good and hard, Adelle? I don’t want you rushing into things.”

Page 48: The Jenkins Legacy: Chapter One

“Mom! You’re not supposed to be pulling this crap on the day of my wedding! You’re supposed to be supporting me. Besides, I have full faith in Avri. If he says he didn’t, then he didn’t. You’re just getting cold feet,” I joked. She laughed – a good sign.

“You’re right darling. Now, you look beautiful, turn around and let me see you.” I turned to face my mom, finally getting the motherly support I needed. “Perfect,” she said, “now, let’s go get you married!”

Page 49: The Jenkins Legacy: Chapter One

My wedding to Avri Wilson – now Avri Jenkins – went by in such a blur. I can hardly remember what went on, so it’s a good thing my father was there to play photographer. It’s a good thing too, because I saw him tearing up during the vows. The last thing I need is him getting all choked up on my wedding day.

Avri and I said the traditional vows, slipped rings on each others fingers and happily said the two words that tied us to each other for life.

Page 50: The Jenkins Legacy: Chapter One

I glanced over at my mom before Avri and I shared our first kiss as husband and wife. I hoped she was smiling, and she was. All thoughts of cheating and old professors gone from her head, she was just happy that her baby girl was getting married.

Page 51: The Jenkins Legacy: Chapter One

Later that night after the cake was cut and the dancing done, Avri and I celebrated our marriage. As a family sim I wanted nothing more than to start trying for a family right away. Being married to a romance sim proved to be a challenge though. Avri said we should enjoy a few years together, maybe visit places before we settle down with children. I think maybe the thought of being a dad scares him. All I know is that, for now, I’m happy to be his loving wife.

Page 52: The Jenkins Legacy: Chapter One

That just about wraps up the first chapter of my new legacy. I want to thank you for stopping by to read this, I hope that you enjoyed seeing my new legacy. With Adelle and Avri married, the next chapter holds a honeymoon, the start of new jobs, children and more. Will Avri, a romance aspiration, be able to come to terms with being a husband and get used to the idea of having children? Will Alon and Adelle continue to have a strong friendship now that she is a married woman? All that and more to come in the second chapter of The Jenkins Legacy. Again, thank you and I hope you enjoyed.
