The “It” of God"Whatever I command you, be careful to

observe it; you shall not add to it nor take away from it (Deut.12:32).

Samuel also said to Saul, “The LORD sent me to anoint you king over His people, over Israel.

Now therefore, heed the voice of the words of the LORD. Thus says the LORD of hosts: ‘I will punish Amalek for what he did to Israel, how he ambushed him on the way when he came up from Egypt.

Now go and attack Amalek, and utterly destroy all that they have, and do not spare them But kill both man and woman, infant and nursing child, ox and sheep, camel and donkey’” (1 Sam. 15:1-5).

King Saul Failed To Do “It”

"Take the staff, and you and your brother Aaron gather the assembly together. Speak to that rock before their eyes and it will pour out its water. You will bring water out of the rock for the community so they and their livestock can drink” (Num. 20:8).

Then the LORD spoke to Moses and Aaron, “Because you did not believe Me, to hallow Me in the eyes of the children of Israel, therefore you shall not bring this assembly into the land which I have given them” (Num. 20:12).

Moses Failed To Do “It”

Then Nadab and Abihu, the sons of Aaron, each took his censer and put fire in it, put incense on it, and offered profane fire before the LORD, which He had not commanded them.

So fire went out from the LORD and devoured them, and they died before the LORD.

And Moses said to Aaron, "This is what the LORD spoke, saying: 'By those who come near Me I must be regarded as holy; And before all the people I must be glorified.'" So Aaron held his peace (Lev. 10:1-3).

Nadab & Abihu Failed To Do “It”

Thus Noah did; according to all that God

commanded him, so he did (Gen. 6:22).

By faith Noah, being divinely warned of

things not yet seen, moved with godly fear,

prepared an ark for the saving of his

household, by which he condemned the

world and became heir of the righteousness

which is according to faith (Heb. 11:7).

Noah Obeyed “It”

Now all these things happened to them as examples, and they were written for our admonition, upon whom the ends of the ages have come (1 Cor. 10:11).

For whatever things were written before were written for our learning, that we through the patience and comfort of the Scriptures might have hope (Rom. 15:4).

Written For Us

For if the word spoken through angels proved

steadfast, and every transgression and

disobedience received a just reward, how

shall we escape if we neglect so great a

salvation, which at the first began to be

spoken by the Lord, and was confirmed to

us by those who heard Him (Heb. 2:2-3).

God Expects Us To Obey “It”

But God be thanked that though you were

slaves of sin, yet you obeyed from the heart

that form of doctrine to which you were

delivered. And having been set free from

sin, you became slaves of righteousness

(Rom. 6:17-18).

Romans Obeyed “It”

Or do you not know that as many of us as were

baptized into Christ Jesus were baptized into His

death? Therefore we were buried with Him

through baptism into death, that just as Christ

was raised from the dead by the glory of the

Father, even so we also should walk in newness

of life. For if we have been united together in the

likeness of His death, certainly we also shall be in

the likeness of His resurrection (Rom. 6:3-5).

What Was The “It” They Obeyed?

For it is by grace you have been saved, through faith—and this not from yourselves, it is the gift of God (Eph. 2:8).

We then, as workers together with Him also plead with you not to receive the grace of God in vain (2 Cor. 6:1).

How then are we saved by grace?

By Obeying “It”!

Does Obeying “It” Nullify Grace?

I marvel that you are turning away so soon from Him who called you in the grace of Christ, to a different gospel, which is not another; but there are some who trouble you and want to pervert the gospel of Christ. But even if we, or an angel from heaven, preach any other gospel to you than what we have preached to you, let him be accursed. As we have said before, so now I say again, if anyone preaches any other gospel to you than what you have received, let him be accursed…

Men Crave Gospel That Omits “It”

For do I now persuade men, or God? Or do I

seek to please men? For if I still pleased

men, I would not be a bondservant of Christ.

But I make known to you, brethren, that the

gospel which was preached by me is not

according to man. For I neither received it

from man, nor was I taught it, but it came

through the revelation of Jesus Christ (Gal.

1:6-12).

Men Crave Gospel That Omits “It”

For with the heart one believes unto righteousness, and with the mouth confession is made unto salvation (Rom. 10:10).

I tell you, no! But unless you repent, you too will all perish (Lk. 13:3).

Whoever believes and is baptized will be saved, but whoever does not believe will be condemned (Mk. 16:16).
