The Investor Status category requires an applicant to demonstrate proof of investment in an amount of US$200,000 in the country including the purchase of your own home (or US$100,000 in a recognized reforestation projects).

US$200,000 (or US$100,000 in recognized reforestation projects).
6. Complete the Smart Travel Enrollment Program (https://step.state.gov/step). Print and bring with you. No additional action on this item is required.
- Documents 2 to 4 must have been issued within 6 months from time of application.
Passport: Must be valid for a minimum of 6 months duration.
Birth Certificate: Upon receipt, certificate is to be sent to State’s Secretary of State to be Apostilled.
Marriage Certificate: Signature must be notarized and sent to State’s Secretary of State to be Apostilled.
Letter of Good Conduct from Local Police: Signature must be notarized and sent to State’s Secretary of State to be Apostilled.
Proof of Investment: Costa Rica Immigration will require specific proof that investment has been made.
