Credits for the Internship Course

The course stretches over the whole semester (30 hp) The internship must fit well with the semesters at UU (20

January – 8 June 2014) You will not get credits or be graded until you have

handed in the final Internship Report

How to select the best internship Consider what type of internship you wish to persue? NGO, GO, Int. institutions, officework, fieldwork, Academia etc.

Selecting

Make list of possible organisations, agencies etc. Check with course convener if relevant/suitable Make internship budget Prepare applications to a few organisations/agencies

Your application

Check carefully how to apply to the specific organisation Prepare your application well Motivate why you want the internship Include previous experience Be clear about the semesters at UU (20

January – 8 June 2014)

When you have found a suitable organisation for your internship

A written agreement between the hosting organisation/agency and DPCR must be signed

Check if visa is neccessary Check what vaccinations are needed Provided you follow the instructions, you will be insured

during your entire internship Leave contact information with DPCR Get your insurance card from DPCR

At the internship

Write weekly logbook Keep in touch with DPCR

Page 10: The Internship Course

Towards the end of the internship

Write your final Internship Report (using your logbook) Hand in final Internship Report (last week of course)
