The Form 7 recloser control uses the most comprehensive security tools and protocols available in a recloser control.
Integrated security tools help prevent cyber intrusions and unauthorized access and are capable of evolving to meet emerging threats to the distribution infrastructure.
Integrated security protocols and encryption secure digital communications, helping to thwart cyberattacks that could disable extensive portions of the distribution grid.
Device security• Tamper resistance alarms to warn of attempted unauthorized
entry into the control
• Role-Based Access Control (RBAC) with more than ten local user accounts and passwords to grant appropriate access permissions to authorized personnel
• Audit trail to record security-related events such as user logins and configuration or firmware changes. Records are securely retained in non-volatile memory, retrievable using ProView NXG or removable storage device
• Remote Authentication Dial-In User Service (RADIUS) protocol to access centralized Authentication and Authorization information for Role-Based Access Control
• Control firmware is digitally signed to verify integrity and authenticity of applied firmware updates preventing malicious code application that could render the control inoperable or proliferate beyond the control
Communications security• Embedded security protocols eliminate the need for added

The NOVA NX-T recloser builds on the proven solid epoxy and vacuum interrupter technology of the NOVA platform and has been fully integrated and extensively tested with the Form 7 recloser control. The NOVA NX-T recloser, combined with the Form 7 control, represents the new standard in performance and reliability with built-in capacity for future upgrades to control technology.
