Dear Professional colleagues, th As the 30 Sept. 2014 is over, all the professional must be feeling the relief as they must have completed their assignments and must be enjoying the Navratri. I along with CMA A G Dalwadi and CMA Jagannathan from Hyderabad visited Hon'ble Governor of Gujarat Shri O P Kohli at th Gandhinagar on 9 August'2014 and submitted the profile of the Institute and the activities carried out by ICAI-Ahmedabad Chapter for the benefits of the Members, the Students and the society at large. During the discussion, Hon'ble Governor of Gujarat assured full support to the chapter’s activity and also appreciated the efforts of the chapter. Student Related Activities: 1) Advance Excel Training Program for Final passed students of june-2014 and final students appearing in Dec-2014 was organized by ICAI-Ahmedabad Chapter during 2/8/2014 to 7/9/2014. 41 students participated in program. CMA Ashish Bhavsar, Secretary coordinates the training program very nicely. We are also planning to organize such program for the members in practice and in industries to increase the skill of the members. 2) As per guideline of Institute, the chapter has arranged ICMAT Training for Final th th students appearing during Dec'2014 examination from 20 July 2014 to 9 August 2014. About 28 students have participated in this training program. I request all the students to take advantages of the same and took those lectures from knowledge gaining perspective. th 3) The chapter has arranged a felicitation program at Haribhai Auditorium on 9 Sept'2014 to felicitate the students who passed either Foundation or inter or Final examination held during June 2014. The Managing Committee members, faculties', students and their parents have attended the program. 4) Industry Orientation Program for final students to be appeared in Dec'2014 exam th was inaugurated on 9 Sept'2014. 2) As per guideline of Institute, the chapter has arranged ICMAT Training for Final th thstudents appearing during Dec'2014 examination from 20 July 2014 to 9 August

2014. About 28 students have participated in this training program. I request all the

students to take advantages of the same and took those lectures from knowledge

oral coaching committee and faculty Mrs. Abhaben Pandya offered tips on topics like Personality Development, Attitude and

Communication. Mock interview were taken by leading professionals to train the participant students before campus th thplacement to be organized in Ahmedabad on 10 and 11 Oct'2014. I appeal all the members who are in practices or in

industries and all my colleagues in Managing Committee to bring more and more companies in the campus placement to

make it a grand success.

6) The result of June 2014 examination is encouraging. The overall students of the chapter declared pass are

Foundation – 38 Inter – 59 Final – 46

7) To encourage student to take active part in various activity of chapter, We started student corner in the news letter from

this edition. I request all the students to write articles for the student corner.

I congratulate all the students for their success and request all the final pass students to enroll as member of the Institute. I wish all the

best for December 2014 examination to those students who could not clear. More analysis and information about June 2014 result is

available elsewhere in this Newsletter.

thAs per our tradition, we have planned Diwali Get-to-gather on 5 November'2014. I request all the members and students to

participate with their family members in the Get-to-gather program. Details of the Diwali Get-to-gather is elsewhere in Newsletter.

You must be aware that now the area of internal audit is also open for cost accountants. Looking to the need of hour, a seminar on the thsubject “Internal Audit” has been organised on 11 November, 20014 at Hotel Foturne Land Mark, Ahmedabad. I request all the members

in practice and in industries to participate actively in the seminar a grand success. Details of the seminar is elsewhere in Newsletter.

Currently, Prime Minister Shri Narendra Modi is on his maiden visit to the U.S. and India is looking to attract more overseas

investments into the country. The Prime Minister is getting overwhelming response in U.S. from all the corner of the world.

As per the announcement by the Prime Minister for “CLEAN INDIA” I request all the members and students to join the nation mission

and keep our house, area, city and chapter office very clean.

The gross direct tax collection till September 26, 2014-15 fiscal, was at Rs 3.37 lakh crore.Net direct tax collection touches Rs 2.60

lakh crore this fiscal, Personal income tax realisation stood at 1.01 lakh crore. Besides, collection of STT and Wealth Tax stood at Rs

3,222 crore. Corporate tax contributed Rs 1.55 lakh crore during the period. The Government has targeted to raise 7.36 lakh crore

from direct taxes in 2014-15, up from over 6.36 lakh crore collected last fiscal.

As Per New RBI Policy there is no change in interest rates.
