Welcome LetterThe Institute for Functional Medicine (IFM), the global leader in Functional Medicine, invites you to join us at our 2018 Annual International Conference (AIC), scheduled for May 31–June 2, 2018 at The Diplomat Hotel in Hollywood, FL.
Solving the Puzzle of Autoimmunity: The Interplay of Gut, Genes, and Environment
Autoimmune diseases present a special problem for clinicians and the healthcare system as their prevalence rises, and the standard-of-care treatments carry an already high cost and poor side-effect profile. In 2016, four of the top-five-selling drugs were immune system–suppressing specialty medications, many of which are lifetime prescriptions, and coupled with the rising prevalence of autoimmunity, the costs are only expected to increase for the foreseeable future. Beyond the onerous economic burden, the long-term consequences of adherence to immune system–suppressing disease management protocols can be dire for patients.
Taking advantage of modern insights and technologies to uncover the antecedents, triggers, and mediators of autoimmunity, Functional Medicine lifts the veil of mystery surrounding autoimmune disease and provides safe, affordable, and sustainable solutions for patients. IFM’s 2018 Annual International Conference will immerse you in the innovative science of this rapidly advancing domain and equip you with the knowledge and resources to translate this experience into better outcomes and real value for your patients.
If you have any questions, please contact me directly. I welcome the opportunity to personally assist you and look forward to seeing you in Hollywood.

Exhibiting at AICWe’re Unique! At AIC, we don’t offer a typical exhibit hall. Instead, the exhibit space is transformed into a Practice Implementation Showroom, with companies organized by category, so that the attendees can maximize their time with the exhibitors they want to reach. Practitioners can learn and get purchasing information from the companies that interest them most.
