Alica keys Alica Augello Cook was born on January 25, 1981. Know perfessionally as Alicia Keys, she is an R&B, singer, song writer, pianist, musician, record producer, and actress. Keys released her debut album with J records, having had record deals before with Columbia and then Arista records. Keys debut album “Songs in A Minor” sold over 12 millon copies worldwide. She became a best selling R&B artist in 2001. The album earned five Grammys in 2002, including “best new artist” and “song of the year” for her hit Fallin . Fallin became the second American recording song to win five Grammys in one night. Her second album, The Diary of Alicia Keys , was released in 2003 and was another success worldwide. It sold 8 million copies. The album got her four Grammy awards. Later that year, she released her album Unplugged . Keys made guest appearances on several television series. In the next year she made an appearance on Charmed and then the Nanny Diaries in 2007. She then sang “Empire State of Mind” featuring Jay –Z.
