It is a Romanian Orthodox female monastery located in Văratec village. Văratec Monastery is home to more than 400 nuns, making it the largest female monastery in Romania. Agapia Monastery Built between 1641-1643, Agapia Monastery is one the most important convents in Romania. The monastery is famous around the world due to its interior frescos painted in 1858 by the great Romanian painter, Nicolae Grigorescu (one of the founders of modern Romanian painting). Neamț Monastery The Neamț Monastery is a Romanian Orthodox monastery built in the 15 th Century. It is an example of medieval Moldavian architecture. The church was built during Ștefan cel Mare's reign and finished in the year when the Moldavian army won the battle against King John Albert (1497). Gura Humorulu Gura Humorului is a town in Suceava County established in 1904. It is situated in the historical region of Bukovina. Gura Humorului is the seventh largest urban settlement in the county, with a population of 12,729. Voroneț Monastery The Voroneț Monastery is a medieval monastery in the Romanian village of Voroneț, now a part of the town Gura Humorului. The monastery was constructed by Stephen the Great in 1488 over a period of three months and three weeks to commemorate the victory at the Battle of Vaslui. The fortress was built during the reign of Peter Mogila (Petru Movila), `then expanded and strengthened during the reign of Alexander I of Moldavia (1400–1432), and Stephen the Great.
