THE YEAR IN REVIEW

A lot can happen in a year...

2015 was the year van der Meer Consulting celebrated 20 years of operation in Sydney, a testament to the continued success in the Australian market. The

announcement of plans to open a third office in Queensland at the start of 2016 further reinforced the company’s enduring growth, which excitingly coincides with

the onset of the structural design for the 2018 Gold Coast Commonwealth Games.

We also welcomed many new faces to the van der Meer team in 2015 who have already etched themselves as key members, each bringing years of industry experience

and dedication to the group. Additionally, the newly formed Leadership Focus Group (LFG) commenced operations. The LFG was primarily established to provide guidance

within the professional sphere, advance the development of technical engineering skills and expertise, whilst continuing to motivate engineers to achieve set goals.

CELEBRATING 20 YEARS

From humble beginnings to milestone achievements, van der Meer had a lot to celebrate in 2015, as we recognised twenty years of operation in Sydney.

Our successes evidently go from strength to strength, and our responsive network of technical and social support within the company has rendered van der Meer a distinguished consultancy; uniquely positioned in the market.

To honour the contribution of our valued clients, consultants, and colleagues alike, we chose to mark the occassion with a cocktail party up on Cockle Bay’s rooftop.

Despite the weather being against us from the outset, the evening was a huge success and we thank all those who attended on the night to show their support.

In 2015, we were thrilled to announce nine new additions to the van der Meer team, both in our Sydney and Melbourne offices.

We also recognised the milestone achievements of a few of our dedicated and well respected team members, whose outstanding performance, ongoing commitment and impressive successes in their roles has been both admirable and inspiring to their colleagues. Our Melbourne based Associate, Andrew Day, celebrated his 15 years of service with van der Meer Consulting in July, whilst our Sydney based Dilapidation Manager, Kylie Pratt, and Structural Documentation Manager, Rob Smith, both celebrated their 10 years of service earlier in April.

As we look into the new year with fresh eyes and a renewed spirit, van der Meer is excited for what lies ahead.
