Chapter 1

Lascelles and the Rhine

I was waiting for my brother to pass me a signal. ‘Where are they?’ Sylvia asked me while I was on the verge

of going crazy. ‘Just wait.’ I told my younger sister. I heard a whistle. ‘It’s time.’ I grabbed my sister’s arm

and rushed towards the middle of the road.

There was a sound of a huge crash when the car hit her leg. ‘Are you guys okay?’ The person exited his car.

‘But you aren’t.’ My sister opened her eyes and grabbed him by the neck and there was a sound of his neck

breaking while she sucked every ounce of blood.

‘Hurry up.’ I told her while I watched my brother walk over.

‘Sylvia, you always lose your control.’ Calais grabbed the man’s hand and started drinking the blood. Just

look away. ‘Why aren’t you joining them?’ I heard my father’s voice. I rolled my eyes- ‘I am not hungry.’ I

was about to walk away.

‘Get down.’ My father pushed me to the ground while an arrow slightly scratched my face. I rushed behind

the car.

‘She got shot.’ Calais told dad. Sylvia was trembling in pain. ‘What the hell?’ My dad moved to check their

status. The arrow just passed by him.

‘Just take her home.’ My dad looked at me. ‘I am not leaving you behind. That’s the family rule. Don’t leave

anyone behind.’ I reminded him.

‘Somebody has to take her back.’ He was shouting at me. Brother vouched. ‘I will take her back.’ My brother

helped Sylvia get up.

‘Wait, I need to make a distraction.’ My father ran in the other direction.

‘Go.’ I shouted at my brother who grabbed Sylvia and ran towards the forest.

They knew it was a distraction.

I was about to stop my brother but a huge glob of fire hit him in the back and he was burned into ashes while

Sylvia lay down on the ground. I looked towards my dad but he was also dead.

‘It’s all of them, get the girl.’ They were referring to my sister. The blood Sylvia lost - I covered myself with

her blood while closing my eyes.

‘There is a human.’ The men shouted.

‘Try to wake her up.’ I heard another man’s voice.

‘Wait, check her teeth.’ A different voice suggested, somebody walked over and opened my mouth touching

my canines.

‘She’s safe.’ The man called out.

‘Human’s are coming, grab them.’ One of them suggested.

‘Just leave them, we have to go.’ A guy reasoned.

‘Take the arrows.’ He was referring to the one in my sister’s back.

When I opened my eyes I found Sylvia’s body laid in front of me.

‘Sylvia.’ I shouted. ‘Wake up.’ I screamed. She wasn’t breathing she had lost too much blood. I bit my wrist

and poured the blood into her mouth. She didn’t drink it. Andrew could help her.

I pulled my sister over my shoulders and started running as fast as I could. I dropped my sister on the front

door.

‘Andrew.’ I screamed out. ‘Andrew.’ I shouted again.

My mother walked out of the house. ‘What happened to her?’ She looked at the blood surrounding Sylvia.

‘Andrew.’ I screamed again.

‘Eloise, tell me what happed to her? Where is your father and Calais?’ She was still questioning me.

‘They knew we were hunting tonight.’ I cried out.

Andrew rushed over and saw Sylvia. ‘What happened?’ He asked.

‘Just safe her, please!’ I got up.

Andrew tried giving her the blood tablets but she didn’t take it. The night was setting in, and Andrew got up.

‘Eloise, I tried everything.’ He was miserable. Sylvia was over all going to be her wife in the future.

‘Tell me what happened?’ Andrew asked me.

‘Everything was going fine at first. She was already feeding herself and then out of nowhere they attacked.

They knew about the diversions and this time they really came out strong. It makes no sense at all.’ I was

crying.

‘It’s because we accidently killed one of them.’ Andrew looked away.

‘When did we kill anyone of them?’ I questioned him.

‘Zenouska’ He called out my sister -in-law’s name.

‘We didn’t kill her, she is still alive.’ I reasoned.

‘They don’t know that.’ Andrew continued.

‘I am going to kill her myself now.’ I was about to enter the house.

‘You cannot.’ He tried stopping me.

‘Why are you stopping me? ’ I looked at him.

‘She is carrying your brother’s child.’ I paused when he declared.

I covered my face while I heard my mother screaming in despair on the loss of her husband and two kids.

I will take my revenge.

I helped my mother to her bedroom while she was drinking badly.

I rang the bell while I saw Andrew walk out.

‘How did she die?’ I questioned.

‘There was some type of medicine on the arrow which burned all her cells.’ He responded.

‘Is there any cure?’ I questioned.

‘The Hunter Tablets...’ He answered.

‘Where can I get them from?’ I asked.

‘The Lascelles.’ He answered. The Lascelles were another breed of vampires. They couldn’t sleep at night and

they wer e much stronger than us Rhine’s in speed and equipment.

I nodded. ‘You know they are our enemies.’ Andrew was reminding me.

‘They would listen to me, if our breed’s united. There is nothing more powerful than that.’ I continued.

‘You are playing with fire.’ Andrew continued.

‘Are you with me in this?’ I questioned.

‘You know I am. You are soon going to be crowned as our leader.’ He reminded. I was the next supporter of

the family.

‘We have to leave right now. Get your stuff.’ I was already done with mine.

He nodded and grabbed his archery kit while I looked at my blood bombs. Blood bombs usually sucked out

the blood out of humans or vampires.

‘What about your mother?’ He asked. ‘I left her a note.’ I remembered what I wrote.

Mom,

I am sorry. I won’t return until I seek my revenge. Don’t worry I won’t die easily. Take care of Zenouska and

her child. We have a new leader.

We ran for three days and at last reached Lachelles territory. ‘We come in peace.’ I called out bef ore crossing

the line.

‘Watch out.’ Andrew grabbed the arrow which was meant to hit me.

‘Severn, I am so over your tricks.’ I shouted while a black headed 20 something boy walked in front of me.

‘I heard your father died in the raid.’ He spoke.

‘You are still keeping tabs on me?’ I laughed it out.

‘What do you want?’ He asked.

‘You know exactly why I came here.’ I looked at the red head standing next to him.

‘I can’t give you the hunter bullets.’ Severn walked over towards me.

‘What if the breeds were united?’ He gave a surprised look.

‘Eloise, stop joking around.’

‘Do you see me laughing?’ I said sarcastically.

He kissed me right on the mouth and I pushed him away. ‘He is going to do what I want.’ I pushed Andrew

forward while Severn looked at me with his topaz eyes.

‘What?’ Andrew kept looking at me. ‘I gave you one of us. Now I want one of you.’ He had a worried face.

‘Patrick.’ He shouted.

‘I am going to choose myself. ‘I ordered.

‘You didn’t let me choose.’ He chuckled.

‘Fine, I will let you choose.’ I k ept looking at the red head.

‘You are looking very carefully at Sienna.’ He found out about my interest.

‘You got a problem with that?’ I sighed out.

‘She is special, if you want special than I am going to take what I desire too.’ He was only inches away.

‘Fine, I want her. You can take anything you want.’ I suggested.

‘Sienna…’ He shouted while she walked over. I nodded and she walked over to my side.

‘What’s your demand?’ I questioned.

‘You know what I want. I want you. How are you going to fulfill that?’ He greased my hair.

‘If I accept the condition, I want the girl and the tablets.’ I demanded.

‘It’s a done deal.’ He stated.

‘I am gone the second the child is born.’ I clearly told.

‘It is fine with me.’ Severn continued.

‘You have to keep your word.’ I stated while I signed the pact.

‘Are you sure?’ Andrew looked at me.

‘I am ready.’ I replied.

‘Your father’s death brought something good to me.’ Severn cleared his throat.

‘If you say this once more, I will kill you. You know nothing can stop me.’ I said with a stern voice.

‘I don’t like the idea of you staying behind.’ Andrew announced to me.

‘I will be fine, you know this. Just trust her.’ I pointed towards Sienna and forwarded the scroll to him.

‘What if she doesn’t bear a child?’ Andrew looked at me.

‘Then don’t even hold your breath. You can get me out of here then.’ I smiled and hugged him and Sienna.

‘Take care.’ I waved back watching them disappear in thin air.

‘You are going to regret this.’ I heard Severn’s voice.

‘Then don’t make me regret this.’ I patted him on the shoulder.

I walked into his house. I was meant to be married to his older brother. The clashes between Rhine’s and

Lascelles suddenly increased and the pact was broken. I shot Fredrick myself. Maybe that’s the only reason

Severn hates me so much. Revenge could take you to any extent. For him to see me miserable was everything.

He walked into the room and just lay next to me. ’I won’t give you what you want so easily.’ It was a threat

for me.

‘I already knew.’ I smiled down at him while I bent down to kiss him as hard I could. The rest just happened.

It was just like I hoped. He was too easy to please but he didn’t know it. I slept through the night when I

woke up and found him looking at me.

‘What?’ I tried to sit while I grabbed my pleated wool-blend dress to wear it and tied my hair back.

‘What if I don’t let you go?’ I turned my face towards him.

‘Then I am going to make you do it.’ I walked into the restroom.

When I came back out I found the room empty. I sat next to the window watching the sun rise.

I remembered the past.

‘ Eloise…’ Sylvia shouted out.

‘What?’ I looked at my sister who was happily beaming at me.

‘I hit it right.’ She pointed at her archer’s hit.

‘Just do it 20 times.’ I told her.

I heard footsteps. ‘Sylvia, you have to run as fast as you can.’ She nodded.

I grabbed her hand missing all the arrows. I snuck her into a hide out while I threw blood bombs.

‘Sylvia stay down.’ I shouted at her.

I marked my target a blonde girl with pretty eyes and hit her right in her abdomen. ‘Blair.’ I heard the man

shouting.

‘We have to go.’ I grabbed my sister’s arm and ran back to the territory. I saved her back then.

‘Eloise.’ Severn was looking at my face with worried eyes.

‘What happened?’ He questioned.

‘Nothing….’ I walked away.

‘You can tell me.’ He walked towards me.

‘So you could make more fun of me?’ I continued.

‘I won’t do it.’ He sounded sincere.

‘Forget it.’ I was about to walk away but he still insisted.

‘I remembered Sylvia.’ My voice broke down.

‘I am sincerely sorry for your loss.’ He declared.

‘Get down.’ I pushed him to the ground and the arrow flew into the room.

‘Dementillos…’ I heard the people screaming. I was about to get up. ‘Stay down.’ He pushed me back on the

ground.

He grabbed his knives and headed out of the room. ‘Stay there.’ He shouted at me but I couldn’t resist.

I grabbed my blood bombs and walked towards the window. I kept throwing them towards the territory so

none of them could come forward. I grabbed the knife Severn accidently left and headed downstairs.

‘Duck down.’ I shouted at Severn and threw the knife at one of them.

‘I told you to stay back.’ He was conf ronting.

‘When did I listen to anyone?’ I chuckled and threw more blood bombs.

‘Drop them down.’ I found a boy holding her gun straight at me.

‘She is the human.’ One of them recognized me.

Severn grabbed one of them and was about to break his neck. ‘Let her go.’ He shouted.

‘You let her go.’ The leader shouted at him.

‘You first...’ Severn made the arrangement, while he observed their reactions.

‘We will do it together.’ He preferred.

‘You attacked us, so just let her leave.’ Severn continued.

He let me walk away but he still had the gun pointed towards me. I walked behind Severn and looked at the

guys face. The flashbacks, I killed Blair I remembered and he was the one standing next to her.

Severn was about to let the girl walk away. ‘Wait, what’s your name?’ I questioned the girl.

‘Blair.’ She responded. I was taken back when she stated that.

‘Shut up Blair.’ He shouted at her.

‘You know her Dion.’ She looked at him.

‘How does he know you?’ Severn asked me.

‘Last summer he tried to hunt me and Sylvia down.’ I responded.

‘You killed my mother.’ Blair looked at me.

‘I thought you were Blair.’ I was confused.

‘I just look like her.’ She looked at Dion.

‘Is he possibly your father?’ I looked at Dion.

She nodded. ‘Are you done with asking question?’ Dion questioned me.

‘I thought you were the one who raided on the Rhine’s.’ I looked at him.

‘Last night you guys raided on us. This was a payback.’ Blair continued.

‘What are you talking about?’ Severn asked Blair.

‘We thought you were the ones who raided us.’ Dion declared.

‘We didn’t.’ Severn responded.

‘She is one of the Rhine’s. They got attacked three days ago.’ Severn told them.

‘Something’s wrong.’ I looked around.

‘Your territory, who is in charge of them?’ I questioned Dion.

‘My sister…. Why?’ He asked.

‘We should go there as soon as we can. Sever n please keep some hunter tablets.’ I looked at the sky.

‘What are you thinking?’ Dion asked me.

‘They would be attacking our territories right now, making us feel like any of us did it.’ I looked down at their

trails.

‘We should leave this place.’ I looked at Severn and he nodded.

‘Why are you thinking like this?’ Blair looked at me.

‘I hope that this is just my thinking.’ I sighed out.

‘How did you recognize me?’ I looked at the boy who pointed me out.

‘We were their when they attacked you. They yelled out that you were human, so we thought it was a waste of

time.’ He replied.

‘I am sorry that we didn’t help you. Viscount clearly heard them say that you were human. ’ Dion looked at

me.

‘We are going to be late.’ I walked toward Severn.

‘He is your husband?’ Blair asked.

‘He is just my boyfriend.’ I smiled at her.

‘I thought Rhine’s and Lascelles never united.’ Dion spoke out.

‘Nowadays anything is possible.’ Severn changed the topic.

‘I am going back.’ I told Severn who was utterly confused after hearing me say that.

‘Why?’ he questioned.

‘Mom, Zenouska. Andrew everyone’s there.’ I reminded him about my family.

‘Take this.’ He gave me a couple of blood tablets.

‘Where are you guys heading?’ I asked Dion.

‘South, we would keep a watch out for you.’ He continued.

‘Aren’t you going with her?’ Blair looked at Severn.

‘She is good at being solo.’ He smiled at me and kissed my forehead.

‘I will see you guys later.’ I was about to leave.

‘I will come with you.’ I heard Viscount. ‘You are going to need my help.’ He raised his eyebrow. A young

blonde boy headed along with me.

Chapter 2

Dementillos and Mittens

I was dreaming, this time I was dreaming about Sylvia.

‘Eloise, he seriously likes you.’ She yelled out.

‘Why are you acting like this?’ I tried to stop her.

‘Fredrick is in love with you.’ She was holding a letter.

‘Give me that.’ I tried to snatch it away from her while she kept reading it loud.

Dear Eloise,

I hope you accept this proposal. This is not a pact for me I seriously admire you. I have high hopes for staying

with you for an eternity.

Fredrick.

‘Sylvia.’ I shouted out. ‘Eloise, wake up.’ Viscount tried to wake me but I jolted up. ‘Sorry.’ I looked at his

blue eyes.

‘Who’s Sylvia?’ He looked at me.

‘How do you know about her?’ I gave a suspicious look.

‘You just shouted out her name. She is the girl who got shot.’ He asked.

‘She was my younger sister. She died in the raid.’ I got up. ‘We should hurry.’ I started running through the

forests. When we reached it was already too late. The whole territory was burned down I found my house

burned into ashes.

‘Ahhhhh…...’ I yelled out.

The hideout….

‘Where are you going?’ I started running in the backyard of the house while Viscount followed me.

‘ Shhh…..’ I stopped him and we hid ourselves behind the tree.

‘Everybody’s dead.’ The man told the leader but I couldn’t see his face all I saw was his eagle tattoo on the

back of his neck. He finally looked towards him.

‘Gale, are you sure?’ He looked at the man.

‘Cassius, I am positive.’ Then they started to walk away.

‘Wait.’ Cassius looked in my direction I tried not to move and inch.

Viscount was about to sneeze while I covered his mouth. I shook my head.

‘Cassius we should leave.’ Gale suggested.

‘I thought I heard someone,’ while looking towards the forest. ‘You are right we should go.’

‘Phew.’ I sighed out.

‘Walk slow.’ I sneaked into the pipe in my backyard. The tunnel further continued into a basement room.

With all the essentials required.

‘This is awesome.’ Viscount declared.

‘Andrew.’ I shouted out.

‘Eloise.’ Andrew hugged me tight.

‘I am so glad you are okay, how’s mom?’ I walked further into the room.

‘Victoria’s fine, I could only safe Zenouska and Sienna the rest probably went to their hideouts too.’ He

continued.

‘Who’s he?’ He looked at Viscount.

‘A friend, he is Dementillos.’ I told Andrew and his eyes popped out.

‘The half vampires….’ He was still in shock.

‘How did you meet him?’ Andrew asked.

‘They raided the Lascelles but turns out we all are being played.’ I responded.

‘Eloise.’ My mother hugged me the moment she saw me. ‘When did they attack us?’ I was referring to the

Moon Raiders.

‘Everything was fine, the watch out had been set. Suddenly they threw ripple bullets. The only way to survive

was to hide out.’ My mother answered while Sienna walked into the room with Zenouska.

‘The Moon Raider is walking in with the Lascelles.’ Viscount pointed Sienna out.

‘Chill out.’ I tried to calm Viscount down. ‘She is my brother’s wife.’ I told him.

‘Hello, I am Sienna.’ She held out her hand. ‘Viscount….’ He shook her hand.

‘Tell me more about the half vampires.’ Sienna looked enthusiastically at him.

‘They are not much different than the Rhine’s. The only difference is that our life span is more than an of the

breeds.’

I walked back home. ‘Eloise..’ I heard my brother’s voice. I turned around and saw his bruised face. ‘What

happened to you?’ I touched his scar face. ‘Where were you?’ He asked me again.

‘I just went for hunting. Did dad do this to you?’ I asked him. ‘Mother is waiting for you.’ He walked toward

the house.

‘Calais…’ I yelled while he entered the house. ‘Eloise, is this the way you talk to your brother?’ Mom

sounded angry.

‘What are we having for dinner?’ I changed the subject. ‘Eloise..’ My mother looked at me with strange eyes.

‘Eloise…’ Sienna was trying to wake me. ‘Bad dream?’ she asked while she passed me a blood tablet.

‘The past is coming back to me.’ I replied and swallowed the pill. ‘You should change.’ She looked at my

soiled clothes. ‘I will bring them for you.’ She exited the room.

I washed myself and wore a silk shirt tail tank with ripped shorts and buckled leather boots. ‘Everyone’s

ready?’ I asked while I came out.

‘How are you doing?’ Viscount asked me. ‘What type of question is this?’ I was confused.

‘Did you dream about her again?’ He whispered to me. ‘I did, don’t talk about this again.’ I pointed my finger

at him. ‘Alright, alright….’ He raised his hands.

‘I am ready.’ Zenouska stated. I looked at her condition. ‘Are you sure you can walk?’ I asked her.

She nodded her head. ‘I am.’ ‘Andrew…’ I looked back. He walked forward. ‘What happened?’ He

questioned.

‘Give her a couple of blood tablets.’ I told him.

‘We should go.’ Sienna headed out of the tunnel. The rest followed I checked once more if I forgot something.

‘While walking to the south we have to stop by the Mitten’s.’ Viscount continued.

‘The Mitten’s?’ Sienna paused and looked at him.

‘My sister is married to their leader.’ Viscount continued. ‘Your sister is breeding with the Mitten’s?’ Sienna

walked away.

‘They are nice people.’ Viscount sounded funny.

‘I know they are.’ I patted him on the shoulder and walked towards Andrew.

‘How are things going between you two?’ I pointed towards Sienna.

‘Nothing happened. They attacked us the day we reached here.’ Andrew sounded a little disappointed.

‘What about you and Severn?’ He questioned.

‘I am waiting for the sign’s.’ I told him.

‘Zenouska.’ My mother called out I turned around and she lay on the ground. I rushed over. ‘This isn’t good.’

I looked at Andrew.

‘The Mitten’s colony is really near.’ Viscount told me.

‘Carry her.’ I looked at Andrew and Viscount.

‘Stella.’ Viscount shouted when we entered their territory.

A short height, blonde girl walked over. ‘I need your help.’ Viscount took Zenouska inside the house.

‘We are going to cut the child out.’ Stella looked at Viscount who as waiting for my response. I nodded.

She called a few people to help her with. I walked outside. ‘Worried?’ Viscount asked me.

‘She is my brother’s first and only love.’ I responded.

‘I wish that I had helped you that day.’ Viscount was looking down.

‘You are helping me now. It’s more than enough.’ I exclaimed.

‘It’s a boy.’ Sienna came out excited. I walked inside and Stella passed me the boy. ‘Did you think of a

name?’ Zenouska asked me.

‘Did you?’ I questioned. ‘Calais liked Raylen.’ She answered.

‘Hello Raylen, It is Aunt Eloise.’ I held his hand.

I was about to walk outside while I heard Viscount’s voice. ‘She is a friend.’ He explained.

‘She is a Rhine, if Dylan finds out he is going to kill everyone of them.’ She was being honest.

‘Stella please….’ He tried to persuade her while I found someone holding a gun at me. ‘You must be Dylan.’ I

looked at him.

‘Dylan, drop it.’ I heard Viscount’s voice.

‘She is a Rhine.’ He looked at Viscount. ‘She is going to be my wife.’ Viscount said out of nowhere. ‘What?’

Stella looked at him while I felt nausea. ‘Where is the washroom?’ I looked at Stella while covering my

mouth.

‘There.’ She directed me towards it. I washed my face with water. ‘She is expecting.’ Stella looked at her

younger brother. He just nodded. ‘Man,…’ Dylan spoke out.

‘This is utterly awkward.’ I told Viscount while I found Stella and Dylan staring at me.

‘He would have killed you.’ Viscount whispered back. ‘This is much worse.’ I tried to smile while looking at

them.

‘You guys aren’t holding hands.’ Dylan declared while Viscount quickly grabbed mine.

‘You found out that she is expecting and you didn’t even kiss her.’ Stella pointed her finger at me.

‘The truth is.’ I was about to speak. Viscount stopped me. ‘The truth is that she is very shy.’ He tried to

change the topic.

‘I am not getting any of this. Dementillos and the Rhines. It will never work out.’ Stella stood up.

‘You married a Mitten, if your marriage can work out. Why can’t ours?’ I questioned while Viscount tried to

stop me.

‘I did it for my people.’ Stella responded.

‘I am doing it for them too.’ I replied back but Stella walked outside.

‘Dylan, talk to her.’ Viscount pleaded.

It was already night I was sitting with Sienna who was carefully inspecting her equipments.

‘I have prepared the room for you.’ Stella told me. I followed behind her and found Viscount in the same

room. I asked him ‘What’s happening.’ I didn’t say verbally but he just shrugged.

‘I have placed everything you are going to need.’ Stella closed the door behind.

‘I will sleep on the ground.’ Viscount got up and locked the door.

‘I could sleep on the couch.’ I suggested but he already placed the mats down.

‘You want to practice shooting?’ I wondered.

‘Why not….’ I took him to the practicing grounds. ‘You like archery?’ He said surprisingly. ‘I used to like

‘Why did you stop liking it?’ He made a target and shot.

‘Dad thinks it’s dangerous for me.’ I threw a shot. ‘Want me to teach you?’ He raised his eyebrow. I bit my

lip. ’Why not.’ I grabbed the gun. ‘Aim, Shoot.’ He marked a target.

‘Aim, Shoot.’ I told myself and pressed the trigger. I was pushed three steps behind because of the force.

‘Whoa.’ I looked up at him.

‘You did well.’ He took the gun while I saw a black haired boy standing across the trees. Fredrick looked

where I was looking. ‘Oh, that’s my younger brother Severn.’ I nodded while looking at Severn.

‘I should go now.’ He was walking away. ‘Bye.’ I waved back at him and he just smiled.

‘Eloise…’ Sylvia wrapped her arms around my waist.

‘That’s Fredrick….’ She pointed her hand out to Severn.

‘No, he’s his brother.’ I grabbed Sylvia’s hand and headed back to the house.

‘Where’s Calais?’ I asked Sylvia who was already indulged in her bowl of fruits.

‘Viscount, Get up.’ He looked at me with sleepy eyes. ‘Your sister….’ I reminded him. ‘Viscount….’ Stella

knocked the door again. Viscount grabbed his stuff and jumped over the bed while I opened the door. ‘Hello.’

I looked at Stella.

‘Breakfast’s ready.’ She walked back.

‘Phew....’ I sighed.

I brushed my hair and was about to head out. ‘You aren’t changing your clothes?’ Viscount grabbed a towel.

‘I should.’ I breathed out. I wore a linen blend dress, Viscount exited the restroom.

‘This is going to be fun.’ Viscount placed the towel away while we headed downstairs.

‘You guys look great.’ Sienna was making fun of us. ‘They sure do.’ Estella poured the juice down.

I placed the Bacon in my mouth trying to observe things. ‘Stella - she is not wearing an engagement ring.’

Dylan pointed while he entered the room. ‘What are you going to do about this?’ I smiled at Viscount. ‘She

left it behind.’ Viscount handed me over the ring. ‘You gave her mother’s ring?’ I couldn’t seem to see

whether she was happy or not.

‘Yes, it’s mother’s ring.’ I placed it on the finger. ‘We should go.’ I looked at Viscount.

‘Where are you guys going?’ Stella asked.

‘We are heading south.’ Viscount told her sister.

‘Why south?’ Dilan asked while he munched his apple.

‘Her relatives….’ Viscount said goofily and they totally bought the story. Sienna broke into laughter

uncontrollably. ‘What happened to her?’ Dylan was worried.

‘She laughs like this every once in a while.’ I tried to be funny.

‘What are Mittens?’ I asked Dylan who was still busy eating.

‘We are not blood suckers.’ Dylan munched.

‘You guys don’t drink blood?’ Sienna continued to be in shock.

‘We are just like vampires; the only difference is our lifestyle is closer to the humans.’ Stella wrapped her

arms around her husband’s waist.

‘Interesting….’ Andrew stood up and walked away.

‘We should go now.’ I followed behind Andrew.

‘Take care.’ Stella hugged me tight.

‘You take care of her.’ She looked at her brother who just smiled.

We are near the Cuspate Village. ‘You should take it back.’ I took of the ring and was about to hand it over.

‘You should keep it.’ He paused and gave it back.

‘Something’s wrong.’ Sienna shouted.

‘Get down.’ Andrew threw himself over me while I saw Zenouska hiding behind the tree. I took out my blood

bombs and threw each in every direction.

Andrew passed me the spray guns, Sienna continuously threw fire bullets.

‘Let’s go.’ I grabbed Raylen from Zenouska and headed towards the village.

‘Perilous.’ Samantha spelled out the words and everything burned into ashes. ‘Hurry up.’ She shouted at me.

I helped my mother and Zenouska, Viscount was the only one left behind.

‘Viscount…..’ I yelled while I saw the arrow go through him.

‘Eloise....’ I ran towards him throwing Blood bombs. ‘I will cover her.’ Sienna shot the bullets towards the

Moon raiders.

‘Viscount...’ I helped him walk towards the village.

‘Eloise...’ I turned around and saw the same person I saw in my dream. He threw the arch ball towards us.

Viscount pushed me towards the ground and took out the barrier.

‘Indigenous.’ Samantha shouted and I was inside the village with Viscount’s body next to me while I laid on

the ground like a stone I closed my eyes I saw Fredrick holding his hands out for me.

‘Eloise…’ Andrew’s voice echoed in my mind while I stretched my hand out for him. ‘Eloise….’ Viscount

was holding my hand.

‘Eloise…’ My mother put my head on her laps.

‘We have to go.’ Fredrick was waiting. ‘I can’t’ I told him and everything blurred.

Chapter 3

The Cuspate Village’s Soul Seeker

Rain was pouring down on me while I saw Fredrick standing with my father. I walked over towards them but I

could see a child calling out for me. ‘It’s time.’ Dad said smiling. I looked back and felt like I was looking at

myself, the younger me. ‘Mom….’ She called out. I turned to look for them but they were gone. Disappearing

into thin air…. ‘We have to go back home.’ She wrapped her arms around my legs. ‘I don’t know the way

back.’ I told her. ‘I know the way back.’ She grabbed my hand and walked over the bridge.

‘We have to jump.’ She looked at me while I looked down at a red river.

‘I can’t.’ I moved back. ‘You can.’ She helped me get on the edge. I wanted to grab her hand but she didn’t

give it to me. ‘She is not going with you.’ Sylvia grabbed her while I fell into the river. I t wasn’t water it wa s

just thin air. I felt my body rise again when I reached the ground.

‘Eloise, Look at me.’ I heard a voice.

I opened my eyes like something punctured me. I found Samantha looking at me.

‘I left something behind.’ I looked at her. ‘You lost the kid.’ Samantha walked away.

‘What?’ I sat up. ‘The arch ball hit you right in the abdomen.’ She showed me the ball covered with blood.

‘I can’t leave Severn now.’ I told my best friend who wasn’t one of us. She was a Soul Seeker, having more

than normal powers.

‘You should have tried.’ Sienna walked into the room.

‘I can’t bring the dead back to life.’ Samantha responded to Sienna.

‘Sienna, let’s go.’ I found myself running along the crystal river.

‘Eloise, look.’ Sienna pointed over the village.

‘We should go.’ She pulled my hand and was running back home.

‘Wait.’ I stopped Sienna. I saw a bleach blonde girl looking towards us. ‘We shouldn’t.’ Sienna tried to stop

me.

‘I am Eloise.’ I called out.

‘Samantha.’ She yelled back at me. ‘She is like us.’ I told Sienna who didn’t believe me.

‘What’s your friend’s name?’ She was referring to Sienna.

‘Sienna…’ replied abruptly.

‘Don’t cross that line.’ Samantha pointed towards the village’s entrance.

‘What are you?’ Sienna asked her while she shouted ‘Indigenous.’

I was standing next to Samantha and Sienna clutched my hand tight.

‘I am a Soul Seeker.’ Samantha smiled towards us.

‘You are a what?’ Sienna spilled out those words.

‘A Soul seeker….’ She repeated again and Sienna stared at me.

‘ I thought S oul seeker’s died a century ago.’ I exclaimed.

‘That was a myth.’ Samantha sauntered away.

‘How could it be a Myth?’ Sienna reasoned.

‘One is standing in front of you, and you still think we are extinct.’ Samantha chuckled.

‘Then why are we the only people who have seen you.’ Sienna asked. ‘The others are dead.’ Samantha turned

around.

‘We can’t die.’ Sienna continued while I looked at her pendant.

‘She doesn’t have much power.’ I told Sienna who just wanted to leave.

‘Eloise...’ Samantha looked straight into my eyes. ‘I need your help.’

‘What do you want?’ I didn’t reflect on what I stated. ‘What are you doing?’ Sienna was worried.

‘Eloise....’ Sienna and Samantha were staring down at me.

‘What were you thinking?’ Samantha and Sienna said together.

‘Do you remember how we met?’ I asked them while I looked outside the window. ‘Nobody knows about this

place except us.’ I reminded the girls.

‘Where are you going with this?’ Sienna questioned.

‘Samantha told us she never let anyone into this place, those who did. They were all dead.’ I looked at her

pendant.

‘I need your help.’ Samantha was looking at me.

‘What do you want?’

‘Next time bring a human body with you.’ Samantha knew exactly what she was talking about.

‘How can you snatch the souls from the dead?’ Sienna was utterly confused.

‘The ones you kill, their souls never return to a safe place.’ Samantha explained.

‘Fine, what’s in it for us?’ Sienna was abrupt. ‘What are you thinking?’ I looked back at her.

‘Whenever you are in danger, I will protect you.’ Samantha vowed. ‘That’s a fair deal.’ Samantha looked at

me.

‘Fine, but you would have to wait for a week.’ Sienna looked at me for approval. I nodded. ‘You would have

to wait for a while.’

‘I would wait for you then.’ Samantha flipped her hair back.

‘We should go now.’ Sienna was looking at me. ‘Yes...’ I watched the protective shield she had around.

‘Equinox... ‘She shouted, I was standing outside the village now.

‘We should go.’ Sienna started running through the forest.

‘Wait…’ I looked back. ‘What?’ Sienna turned to look at me.

‘Someone’s here...’ I told her.

‘Nobody has ever come this far.’ Sienna spoke promptly.

‘I think someone’s following us.’ I looked around in search but found nothing.

‘We should go now…’ Sienna was irritated. I looked back once again but I couldn’t see anything suspicious.

‘You think someone followed you that day?’ Sienna inquired.

‘I doubt that someone followed you, I only sensed you.’ Samantha glances at me.

‘Can you sense Werewolves?’ I solicited.

‘I can sense them from 100 meters not more than that.’ Sienna was gazing at her.

‘You can only sense them from 100 meters.’ She was infuriated.

‘My spells don’t work on them, I am not a witch.’ Samantha said helplessly.

‘Someone followed us that day; I think it was the same person who followed us today.’ I said what I expected.

‘What are you going to do about it?’ Samantha wondered.

‘You are in danger now.’ I told her.

‘Why? I have a protective charm around this place.’ Samantha posed.

‘Witches won’t be stopped by your protective charms.’ I was being direct.

‘She is right.’ Sienna agreed with me who least liked agreeing with anyone.

‘Are you sure you want to take me with you, what about your clan people?’ Samantha inquired.

‘I am friends with everyone nowadays.’ I said heedlessly and watched Andrew and Viscount talking together.

‘When should we leave?’ Sienna marveled. ‘Just for tonight we can stay here.’ I tried hearing what they were

talking about.

‘You should rest.’ Samantha patted on my shoulder and headed out.

‘Eloise…’ I heard Fredrick’s voice I quickly turned around and it was Viscount. ‘How are you feeling?’ I

broke his gaze.

‘I am fine.’ I walked across the room. ‘I heard you have met a Moon Raider before.’ He confirmed what he

already knew, I looked at him.’ What do you want to know?’ I speculated.

‘How did you meet one?’ He demanded. ‘I fell in love with one.’ I watched his reaction with turned from

‘You have to catch it.’ Calais threw the ball. ‘Watch it.’ H e grabbed me while I was about to slip over the

water rocks.

‘I did catch it.’ I showed him the ball. ‘I pray that we go back home in one piece.’ Calais spoke.

‘Who is that girl?’ I saw a red head girl. ‘We should go.’ Calais grabbed my hand and headed towards the

house. I looked back and the young girl waved back at me while I smiled at her brown eyes.

‘Don’t tell dad that you saw someone.’ Calais instructed me. I just nodded and r emembered her brown eyes.

‘She was just like us.’ I told Calais who was least interested in what I said.

‘Did you have fun?’ My mother asked me while we sat on the dining table.

‘Yes.’ I said happily. ‘Eloise….’ My mother was waking me up. ‘Your father wants to see you.’

‘Calais and I just played.’ I said trying to avoid answering the question.

‘This is Sienna.’ He brought the red head inside the room. ‘Dad…’ I was going to speak.

‘She is your step sister.’ He spoke. ‘You still want to be her friend.’ He exactly knew I was going to meet her

‘She is already my friend, actually more than a friend now.’ I grabbed Sienna’s hand and headed out.

‘Why did you do that?’ Sienna was curious.

‘You are my sister, just like Sylvia’s mine.’ I stopped in front of my room.

‘She is your sister.’ Viscount breathed out. Andrew who entered the room couldn’t believe my words while

Samantha just smirked.

‘You are her sister?’ Andrew asked Sienna who just nodded.

‘Don’t tell me she is your half sister.’ Andrew looked at Samantha who started laughing uncontrollably.

‘She should rest now.’ Sienna pushed the boys out of the room.

‘Sleep well.’ Sienna smiled back.

I closed my eyes. ‘Eloise…’ Fredrick called out my name while I was practicing.

‘I know you are going to win.’ He chuckled and made the shot. ‘Brother.’ I missed the shot and looked back.

‘What happened?’ Fredrick looked at his little brother. ‘We have a problem.’ He responded. ‘Do you need

help?’ I asked Fredrick. ‘I think you should stay here, I will see you tomorrow.’ He took his leave.

‘Eloise….’ Sylvia called out for me. ‘What?’ I shouted back.

‘Dad and brother are calling you.’ I headed back to the house.

‘What happened?’ I asked while entering the house. ‘Lascelles broke their pact.’ Dad stood up.

What are you saying?’ I glanced at my brother.

‘They broke the pact.’ Calais repeated those words.

‘What pact?’ I asked. ‘You don’t need to about it.’ Dad answered. ‘Is this about Sienna?’ I asked my father.

‘It’s not about her.’ Calais replied instead of dad. ‘If you aren’t going to tell me I will ask Fredrick myself.’ I

walked out.

‘He is going to kill you.’ Calais and father rushed behind.

‘Not if I kill him first.’ I ran towards their territory. ‘Eloise…’ Fredrick was surprised to see me.

‘Where is Sienna?’ I l ooked around for her.

‘You won’t find her here.’ Fredrick vowed while I paused.

’SO?’ I shouted out. ‘The Raider’s only wanted her.’ Fredrick answered.

‘What did you do?’ I stepped back. ‘Do you even know what she is?’ I forced him to look at me.

‘She is a Rhine.’ He replied. ‘She is not a Rhine, she is in between.’ I told him and his eyes opened wide.

‘Her mother was a Lachelles.’ I covered my forehead.

‘Let’s hope we find her.’ I said and ran back home.

I opened my eyes and looked over my side and found Sienna. ‘What are you doing?’ I sat up.

‘Fredrick died because of me.’ Sienna articulated. ‘He didn’t die because of you, he died because of Cassius.’

‘Cassius....’ Sienna spoke out. ‘We should move now.’ I stood up.

‘Did you love him?’ Sienna asked.

‘I don’t know the meaning of this word, the people I loved the most, are either with me or dead.’ I tied my

hair into braids.

‘If things were different, would you have loved Cassius?’ Sienna articulated.

‘If things were different, he would still hold that gun towards me.’ I smiled.

‘Eloise…’ Sienna was about to speak but Andrew entered the room. ‘We should move.’

Don’t Hold Your Breath

‘You didn’t tell me about the Moon Raider’s.’ Viscount was talking.

‘When the time comes, you will know.’ I walked over towards Sienna who was clearly observing.

‘What are you looking at?’ I asked her and she suddenly paused.

‘They are around.’ She took guard of her position. ‘Get down.’ I told Zenouska and mother.

‘I will try to slow them.’ Samantha started enchanting words. ‘We shouldn’t wait.’ Viscount headed towards

the mountain in front of us.

‘Everybody move.’ I shouted while I stayed slightly behind. ‘Drop the gun.’ I heard his voice.

‘Hello Cassius.’ I paused and looked behind. ‘I said drop the gun.’ He shouted again.

‘Alright….’ I bent down and placed the gun on the ground. ‘It’s time.’ I shouted towards Sienna.

‘I will find her.’ Cassius grabbed my gun.

‘You lost before.’ I smirked. ‘This time I won’t.’ He threw a punch at me which he missed. I stole his gun and

now we were both pointing guns towards each other. ‘You and your old tricks...’ Cassius declared and

something punctured my back. ‘Goodbye Eloise.’ I saw him disappear away. I slipped my hand into my back

pocket and swallowed the Hunter tablet. ‘Eloise…’ I heard Sienna rushing towards me. ‘I took the pill.’ I tried

to sit.

‘He killed me again.’ I watched his trail.

‘What is she talking about?’ Viscount was confused. ‘Cassius...’ Zenouska and Andrew spoke together.

‘Who’s Cassius?’ Sienna helped me get up. ‘He is so going to die in my hands.’ I stated and sauntered

towards our destination.

We reached Pacific in time. ‘They are here.’ I heard a Dementillo shout.

‘Don’t ask.’ Samantha responded. ‘Samantha, what are you doing here?’ Severn asked her.

‘You know her?’ I looked at Severn who glared at Sienna.

‘They attacked us again.’ Viscount told Dion who was standing in the room.

‘I need to rest.’ I told Sienna.

‘All of you, we should go.’ Sienna asked them to leave while I star ed at the sealing.

‘Eloise…’ Fredrick tried to stop me. ‘If my sister dies because of you, I won’t forgive you.’ I let go of my hand

I looked back towards my window and saw Sylvia standing. It wasn’t long that sight disappeared in front of

‘There is no turning back once you cross this line.’ I told myself a couple of times. ‘Sienna, this is for you.’ I

stepped inside Haven. ‘You came back.’ I saw the same person with the tattoo.

‘I like exploring.’ I headed towards the bar. ‘This is the second time I am seeing you here.’ He followed

behind me.

‘Wear this.’ I remembered Samantha giving me the drop necklace. ‘What’s this for?’ I looked at her. ‘They

won’ find out that you are a vampire.’ She tied it around my neck.

‘Nice pendant.’ I saw him looking at the necklace. I placed my hand over it. ‘Seems like you, r an away from

voice from a distant. I followed the voice and ended up standing in front of a gigantic house.

‘Eloise…’ I heard Cassius’s voice. ‘What are you doing here?’ I asked him. ‘You are standing in front of my

house.’ He chuckled.

‘This is your house?’ I confirmed again. I took a shot and moved forward to give him just a kiss on the lips. It

ended into something more than that, I found him lying so close to me that it was hard to fight those feelings

when it felt so hard to breathe. I was caught up in the moment that I couldn’t hold back. ‘Everything’s going

to fall apart once I take Sienna away from here.’ I watched him sleeping right in front of me. He was so close

but still so far away.

I closed my eyes hoping that this was just a dream. ‘Eloise…’ I heard him waking me up. I tried opening my

eyes and looked around. ‘You can use the shower.’ He handed over the towel to me. I grabbed a striped shirt

from my bag and headed inside. ‘Where is she?’ I tried hearing Sienna’s voice. ‘I went too far.’ I opened the

shower and the warm water felt so good. ‘Are you hungry?’ He asked me while I dried my hair.

‘I am not that hungry.’ I opened my bag, and stuck my clothes in. ‘I will see you downstairs.’ He exited the

room and headed down while I took a blood tablet in. ‘Aren’t you coming?’ He peeped inside the room. ‘Yeah

I am.’ I closed the zip.

He showed me around the house. ‘What’s that?’ I asked. ‘That’s just the basement my mother’s old stuff is all

kept there.’ He held my hand and walked forward.

‘I think I have to head back.’ I paused in front of the house.

‘What do you mean?’ He looked at me. ‘My parents must be worried .’ I told him. ‘Watch out.’ I heard a

foreign voice and grabbed the arrow. Cassius was amused to see me like that. ‘She is not human.’ The girl

walked over towards me.

‘Gabriella.’ Cassius sounded unhappy. ‘She is a Soul keeper.’ She pointed towards my necklace.

‘They are dead.’ Cassius told Gabrielle. ‘She is standing in front of you why don’t you ask her.’ She pointed

‘I have to go.’ I was about to turn but he stopped me and stared at the necklace. ‘Gabriella’s mother was a

‘We should go.’ Cassius helped me get up while I didn’t move and inch. ‘Eloise…’ He helped me sit on the

bed. My hands and clothes were covered with blood. ‘You should wash them.’ He helped me wash them and

‘My hands are dirty.’ I looked at them. ‘Eloise, they are clean. Look.’ He showed me my clean hands.

‘There is still blood on it.’ I broke into tears; H e thought I was crying because I killed someone. I cried

because I killed my friend, the person who was going to share the eternity with me. I killed him with my own

hands. He wrapped his around me tight; I cried so much that I couldn’t remember when I sle pt.

‘Eloise.’ Severn woke me up while tears rolled down my cheeks.

‘You dreamt about him?’ He asked. ‘I dreamt about Sylvia.’ I got up and headed outside leaving him behind.

I went for a run and found Viscount hunting. ‘What are you doing here?’ He said flabbergasted.

‘I needed to breathe.’ I replied while helping him with the hunting.

‘Why did Cassius kill you twice?’ He said in a terse.

‘It goes way back.’ I tried to change the topic but he insisted.

‘Why did you capture them?’ I looked at Cassius who just walked into the room.

‘I didn’t hear, or see anything.’ She walked back to her room. I opened the door and crept downstairs slowly.

‘Sienna….’ I tried waking her up. She was badly injured. I dropped in a couple of blood tablets and she

slightly opened her eyes. ‘I will get you out of here.’ I whispered. ‘Severn....’ I placed the tablets in his mouth

but he spit them out. ‘I am saving your life here.’ I placed them back. ‘You broke the pact, you killed one of

us.’ Severn stated. ‘You think I wanted to?’ I didn’t turn back.

‘ Where were you?’ Cassius asked while I headed out of the house.

‘I was right here.’ I avoided his eyes. ‘You weren’t in your room.’ He continued. ‘She was with me.’ Zenouska

stated who just came out.

‘I was just worried.’ He grabbed my hand. ‘Let her breathe every once in a while.’ Zenouska walked towards

the garden.

‘Are you giving me relationship advice?’ Cassius was being rude. ‘Don’t.’ I stopped him. ‘At first you didn’t

talk to each other, and now you are t aking each other’s side.’ Cassius was being sarcastic.

‘Eloise, sit.’ Cassius’s mother Carla told me.

‘She looks a little weak .’ Carla noticed the blood deficiency I had. ‘She is eating fine.’ Gabriella spoke.

I stood up and headed back towards my room. ‘Go, see if she is fine.’ I heard Carla tell Cassius.

I looked at myself in the mirror. ‘This can’t happen, not right now.’ I muttered.

still tried to stand. ‘Gabriella…’ I took Sylvia’s gun and shot her heart. I watched Gabriella drop onto the

ground while Cassius was about to kill my father. ‘Cassius, don’t.’ I screamed out but he didn’t stop.

The Lancerine and Sienna

‘How are you feeling?’ Sienna walked into my room. ‘I don’t know when he would stop.’ I was referring to

Cassius. ‘He won’t stop, he killed his own child. He is still not over that?’ Sienna stated.

‘I already killed the one who was responsible.’ I clutched my hair tight.

‘Did you forgive him?’ Sienna said in concise.

‘I forgive him every time; I forgive him every time he kills me.’ Andrew walked into the room.

‘Samantha senses that we will be soon dead.’ Andrew chuckled after saying. ‘She is not even a witch but she

sees the future.’ Andrew was being mean.

‘Before he dies he wants to spend the night with Sienna.’ Samantha and I laughed.

‘Do you trust the Dementillo?’ Andrew was referring to Viscount.

‘I don’t trust anyone except Sienna and Samantha and I could add you.’ I was being funny.

‘I want to have a combat with you.’ Andrew was looking at me.

‘Come-on.’ I stood up. ‘Bring your best.’

‘Here I come.’ Andrew threw a fly kick towards me while I blocked it I grabbed him from his ankle and threw

I slide through his legs trying to weaken his ankles but he resisted that. ‘This trick doesn’t work on me.’ Dion

chuckled. ‘Then this might.’ I grabbed his neck and smashed his weak points making him immune. ‘He gives

up.’ Blair walked in. I patted his face and he finally moved. ‘Where did you learn to fight like this?’ Dion

asked and silence settled in. ‘My Ex.’ I walked outside, I knew Sienna was following me but I didn’t stop her.

She was still my sister, just the way I saw Sylvia. ‘Are you okay?’ Sienna sat next to me.

‘What happened to you? How did they find you?’ I was referring to the Moon Raiders.

‘Sienna…’ Severn was calling me. ‘What happened?’ I asked him while I cleaned my Barrier.

‘Did you see Fredrick?’ Severn was aggravated ‘What’s gotten into you?’

‘Just tell me where he his?’ He ordered. ‘He went to see Eloise.’ The next time I looked around he wasn’t

there.

‘Sienna…’ I heard a foreign was calling my name. ‘Yes.’ I turned around but something hit me hard I lost my

consciousness.

‘I did what you told me.’ I could hear Fredrick’s voice. I slightly opened my eyes and saw an unknown face.

The moment you left after your fight. Fredrick came to my room. ‘Severn, come with me.’ He grabbed his

Barrier and headed towards Haven. ‘You gave her to a Raider?’ I was shocked. ‘I didn’t give her to a Raider,

it was some other kind.’ He passed the line.

‘They attacked us as soon as we crossed the line.’ I told her.

‘Sienna didn’t see his face, you couldn’t recognize him. Who was he?’ I stood up and closed the door behind.

‘This is all connected, Sienna and me being followed. Sienna captured by the Raid ers. The raid which

happened on us? It is all interlinked.’ I flipped my hair back and lay down on the ground.

‘Eloise…’ Sylvia was calling out my name. ‘Eloise…’ I heard Fredrick’s voice. I followed his voice and I

stood between the territory lines now.

I reached out for his hand but he disappeared. I was near the Cuspate village. ‘I am Samantha.’ I could hear

her voice and saw myself standing with Sienna. ‘I think someone is following us.’ I told Sienna who paused to

look at me. ‘Nobody’s here.’ Sienna ran towards home while I saw her disappear.

‘Where is he?’ I looked around again in search. ‘He is here somewhere.’ I turned around to look. ‘I found

down at our trails. ‘Eloise…’ He whispered my name.

I shrieked and opened my eyes. ‘It couldn’t be him.’ I told myself and closed my eyes again.

‘The past is meant to be forgotten.’ She smiled and passed the blood tablet.

The day I thought I first saw Sienna. ‘Make sure she doesn’t cross that line.’ My father instructed Calais.

‘Why did you do that?’ Sienna asked me.

‘You are just like Sylvia to me.’ I referred to my younger sister.

‘Do you even remember why Sylvia died and not you?’ He was questioning my memories.

‘I would die for you, when the time comes I would die for you.’ Sylvia hugged me tight.

‘Andrew… what more do you know about me.’ I questioned.

‘We should just save Sienna right now.’ I saw Severn and Samantha running towards us.

‘Nothing...’ We ran towards Haven. I tried hearing Sienna’s voices but so far there was no clue where they

took her.

‘You want to go there?’ Samantha stopped me. ‘I have been here once; I know the trails better than anyone of

you.’ I stepped inside Haven.

I pulled out the Barrier, searching for voices. ‘She must be inside the house. You go look for over there.’ I

pointed over a small shelter.

‘I am coming with you.’ Severn followed behind me; I squeaked the door open and headed inside. ‘This is

suicide.’ Severn whispered to me.

‘I want to be dead, not feel it linger around me.’ I opened the basement door.

‘We meet again.’ I heard Cassius’s voice. I saw him pointing a gun at me from the corner of eye.

‘How does it feel to point a gun at me?’ I tried hearing Sienna’s voice.

‘Eloise, you just got yourself killed.’ The dart flew right into my abdomen I was slightly loosing conscious.

‘Where is she?’ breathed out. While I saw Severn laid on the ground, the blood covered the whole ground.

‘I just needed you. Want to know why?’ My knees hit the ground while I tried my best to hold myself.

‘I knew you were the Lancerine, long ago before even you knew about it. That’s why I made sure that you

yourself would come back to me.’ I tried looking at his facial expression but my sights blurred.

On Stranger’s Land

‘Fredrick….’ I called out while I was standing on the crossroads. ‘Sylvia….’ I called out for my sister.

‘Mom….’ I saw the younger me holding her hand out for me. ‘You are back…’ I looked at her black eyes.

‘You have to follow me.’ She headed along the road passing through the river. ‘You won’t sink in.’ She knew I

was hesitant.

‘Come on.’ I saw Sylvia waiting for me. ‘You are okay.’ I hugged her tight.

‘Eloise.’ I can’t breathe, I let go of her.

‘It’s time you come with me.’ She gripped my hand and strutted under the water fall.

‘He is waiting for you.’ She smiled and looked back.

‘Fredrick…’ I uttered while I saw him standing under a pear tree. I walked over towards him and Sylvia let

go my hand.

‘You should go on.’ She told me. I looked at her and then him. I took a couple of steps towards him and then

‘Wait.’ I stopped him. I wanted to touch his face steal that last kiss. ‘I am sorry.’ I wanted to stay with him

even after what happened to us. I still wanted him; I stepped towards him and kissed him on the lips. It was

the last I will ever see him; he won’t come back to me. I could never go back to him. He was my first love. The

love I met while looking for my sister.

Someone slapped my face hard that flashed my eyes open. I saw Cassius looking at me while I saw

equipments around me.

‘Cassius…’ I whispered his name. ‘Do you have last words?’ He asked while I saw Viscount standing on the

stair case. The light was dim but I still knew it was him.

‘Viscount, this is Eloise. She would be marrying Cassius soon.’ Gabriella introduced her little brother to me.

‘Hello.’ I shook his hands while I saw his eyes glued to mine.

Remember

I was lurking around the house searching how to escape when I had the chance. These people say that I am

their family but I don’t feel like that. They don’t even look like humans. Maybe they aren’t humans. They

give me this tablet each day which makes me puke all the time. They think I was reborn, as a human and I was

a Rhine in my previous life. All I remember are those two names ‘Cassius.’ And ‘Viscount’ I have to search

them and kill them.

‘Eloise…’ I looked back at the red head. ‘My name is Olivia.’ I stated to her.

‘For me you are still Eloise.’ She walked towar ds me.

‘I am Olivia Carmichael.’ I told her my name. ‘You have forgotten who you were.’ She touched my shoulder.

‘I still remember why I came here.’ I headed back into the house.

‘Eloise…’ She was following me. ‘Make her stop.’ I looked at the blonde. ‘Samantha….’ The red head called

her friend’s name.

‘Just leave her.’ She told the red head and headed back to her room.

‘You have a visitor.’ The room door shut. I walked downstairs and I saw him.

‘Eloise…’ He whispered my name. ‘Why is everyone calling me that?’ I was feverish. ‘My name is Olivia;

‘Eloise, it is me Viscount.’ As soon as those words came out of his mouth I grabbed the knife in my back

‘She doesn’t remember anything. She is a human.’ The red head spoke while she entered the room.

‘I will find you, and kill you.’ I told him while Samantha pulled me out of the room. ‘Eloise…’ He looked

frightened this time.

‘Calm down, Eloise.’ Samantha dropped the force field.

‘Stop calling me that.’ I screamed to her and closed the door on her face. I climbed down the window and

started running towards the forest. I stopped near the road and headed towards Paradise. I walked towards my

house. The house I kept dreaming about. I rang the bell and I saw a bleach blonde girl. ‘Olivia…’ She shouted

at me and hugged me tight.

‘Mom, Olivia’s back.’ She called out to her mother.

The woman entered the room and gasped as soon as she saw me. ‘Olivia….’ She wrapped her arms around

me. ‘I thought you died.’ She cried to me.

‘Mom…’ I spoke. ‘Olivia, what happened to you?’ She looked at my long hair sprawled over my shoulders.

‘They kept me captive.’ I uttered while she observed my face.

‘Your father was worried sick about you, it had been three years since we last saw your face.’ She kissed my

forehead.

‘You remember her.’ She looked at the bleach blonde. ‘I know; it’s Elvir a.’ I called out my sister’s name.

‘I must call your father.’ She left me standing with Elvira. ‘I should take you to your room.’ She grabbed my

hand and headed upstairs. She walked into the room on the right and once she opened it. I felt it familiar like I

always belonged here. The wallpaper was copper gold with little red flowers. The bed post had Aphrodite

engraved in it. ‘Why does it say Aphrodite?’ I asked Elvira who smiled down. ‘It’s our maiden name.’

I saw my pictures hanging on the walls. In one I was eating ice cream with Elvira and in the next I was

standing with two brunettes. ‘You remember them?’ She pointed towards the girls in the picture.

‘I remember a few things.’ I looked at my feet. ‘Your best friends Viola and Cassie….’ She closed the door

behind.

I looked at the girl in the picture, she looked exactly like me. I felt I had more prominent cheek bone. I opened

my closet and pulled out a belted cashmere poncho with twill skinny jeans. I opened the shower and closed

my eyes.

‘Eloise….’ A girl called out my name. ‘It’s me, Sylvia.’ I turned around to see her but she punctured my

throat.

I gasped and opened my eyes while hot water poured down my spine. I rubbed my eyes and looked in the

mirror. It was just a nightmare. I changed into my clothes and headed downstairs. ‘Olivia...’ I saw a man in his

Forties walking towards me. ‘Dad...’ I whispered and he hugged me tight. ‘I looked for you for so long.’ He

kissed my hair. ‘I am glad that you are alive.’

‘Margaret.’ He shouted. ‘She looks a little different.’ He looked down at my hair length.

‘I think long hair suits her more.’ Elvira walked into the living room. ‘Lionel would go crazy when he sees

her.’ She continued.

‘You must be hungry.’ Margaret walked me into the dining room. ‘We should wait for Lionel.’ Elvira looked

towards the kitchen door. ‘You must be hungry.’ Margaret passed me the Spaghetti dish.

‘We should wait for Lionel.’ I looked at Elvira.

‘Brother,’ she jumped as soon as he walked into the room. ‘Olivia….’ He dropped his bag in shock. I looked

at him and he didn’t even move his jaw. He walked towards me and hugged me tight. ‘You had me worried.’

He spoke while he sat next to me.

‘Let’s eat.’ My father looked at me. I was so hungry that I didn’t notice I ate two plates already.

‘You must be really hungry.’ Elvira had her mouth open. ‘You hated to eat that much, you were so weight

conscious.’

‘I don’t know they gave me these tablets which made me puke.’ I grabbed my plate and headed into the

kitchen.

‘Do you remember anything about that night?’ Lionel walked behind me.

‘I just remember your faces, nothing else.’ I opened the dish washer. ‘I am glad you are okay.’ He patted me

on the shoulder.

I woke up early next morning and saw Elvira heading out with Lionel. ‘Where are they going?’ I asked my

mother.

‘School….’ Margaret smiled at me. ‘You want to join school?’ She looked at me.

‘It would be nice.’ I sat on the couch. ‘You used to hate it, the only reason you went was to cheerlead.’ She

chuckled.

‘I was a cheerleader?’ I looked at her. ‘Yeah you were, in junior high.’ She brought over the picture.

‘Who is he?’ I pointed towards the boy standing next to me. ‘He is Stefan; you used to date him back then.’

She sighed.

‘He was cute.’ I stuck my tongue out. ‘Yeah he was, he went to Texas after you went missing.’ She got up.

‘Who took me?’ I asked her. ‘We will talk about that some other day, I am going to buy groceries; want to tag

along?’ She looked back.

‘Yeah sure, I should change.’ I went straight into my room. I wore a Claudia dress and striped canvas open toe

wedges. I tied my hair into long braids and headed down.

into the car.

‘I called your father, you could join School again.’ She reversed the car.

grabbed my hand. ‘Plus Elvira is also going to be a senior.’ She smiled.

I was sitting outside in the garden looking at the stars. Who was she?

‘What are you doing?’ Lionel sat next to me.

‘Counting them...’ I pointed towards the stars. ‘I heard you are joining school tomorrow.’ He looked at me.

Rivals

‘You should definitely open your hair.’ Elvira was looking at my Embellished silk tulle with shorts and

Sablina suede mules.

‘I think they look better tied.’ I gave my opinion.

‘Just open them up. Mine are open too.’ She opened her hair up.

‘Are you sure?’ I loosened my pony tail. ‘Just trust me.’ She helped me and sprawled them over my shoulders

which covered my waist.

‘Come on.’ She handed me my Wristlet handbag and headed out. ‘Here…’ Lionel threw my car keys.

‘I don’t remember the way.’ I said shyly. ‘You have GPS.’ He got into his car.

‘Come on. We will be late.’ She opened the car door.

‘Be safe girls.’ Mother called out.

‘Would you drive fast?’ She looked at the car speed which was 50. ‘At least drive at 70.’ She looked over the

window.

I raced over and parked the car. ‘We are late, I had practice before school.’ She ran inside. I locked the door

and grabbed my bag.

‘Excuse me.’ I looked behind. ‘You dropped this.’ The kid passed me my notes.

‘Thanks.’ I sighed out. ‘If I had lost that I would have been screwed.’ I checked the time.

‘You are the new transfer student?’ He asked me.

‘No, I am just the new student. It has been ages since I walked these hallways.’ I checked the time table.

‘You must be a senior.’ He looked at me. ‘If people taught I was a junior that would have been great.’ I looked

at the note Elvira scribbled. First period Algebra - Miss Perkins.

‘Miss Perkins.’ I uttered. ‘Come on, I will take you there.’ He continued.

‘Don’t you have one?’ I was referring to a class. ‘You are in my homeroom.’ He walked upstairs.

‘I am Austin.’ He held his hand forward. ‘Olivia….’ I shook his hand. ‘First day and I am already late. Elvira

was right.’ I mumbled.

‘You are Elvira’s long lost sister.’ He looked at me in shock.

‘Yeah...’ I climbed the last stairs. ‘You do look young for your age.’ He said awkwardly.

‘I do, kid.’ I knocked into the classroom.

‘I will see you around.’ Xavier shouted at me while I bumped into Austin. ‘Sorry dude.’ I grabbed my books

and entered my class.

Lunch Break!!

I walked into the cafeteria while I heard someone call my name. I looked and it was Xavier calling. ‘What?’ I

walked over his table.

‘You should join us.’ He looked at me. ‘Olivia.’ Elvira grabbed me by my arm and took me towards her table.

‘I will talk to you later.’ I told Xavier. ‘Elvira.’ I stopped her from pulling me towards her table. ‘You grab too

much attention.’ She pushed my down.

towards the table. He kissed her so fiercely I thought he would chew her mouth.

‘You dropped something?’ I was talking to Elvira who turned to look at me. ‘What?’

‘Your dignity...’ Alice broke into laughter, while I grabbed my tray.

‘Nobody talks to my girl like that.’ He gra bbed my arm.

‘I don’t care.’ He was about to hit my face. I bent down and hit his face with the tray which broke his nose. He

went straight to the ground.

‘Next time, you want to pick a fight? Choose someone you can beat.’ I looked at Elvira who was just

confused.

‘I am his girlfriend.’ She shouted at me. ‘Then ask him to treat you like one.’ I shouted back at her.

‘You okay?’ Xavier walked towards me. ‘I am fine.’ I was about to exit the cafeteria.

‘Next time you pick a fight with my team. I will deal with you myself.’ I turned and found Austin speaking to

me.

‘He is their captain.’ Xavier mumbled to me.

‘You want to slam your face too? You are probably just scared as him.’ I pointed towards Vince.

‘I am warning you.’ I laughed while I tightened my wrist. ‘Olivia, stop it.’ Xavier tried stopping me.

‘I am letting you go for saying that this time. Next time you won’t see the daylight for couple of days.’ I

walked outside towards my car. ‘Are you bunking?’ Xavier was confused.

What if I meet Stefan again? What would I do? I walked into my bedroom and opened the drawer. I looked at

the diaries most probably I wrote. I looked at the notes written three years back but I couldn’t shak e my

I closed the door behind. ‘Alice...’ I heard Elvira shout while Alice stopped to wait for us.

‘My baby is practicing right now.’ I rolled my eyes. ‘I need to go.’ I looked at Elvira.

‘Fine, at lunchtime you know where we sit.’ Elvira declared while I looked at Austin who kept looking in our

direction. ‘He most probably likes you.’ Alice looked at my reaction.

‘Too bad for him then...’ I walked towards my class.

I had at least four classes a day in which I had to see Austin’s face. Whenever I looked at him I found him

looking at me like he knew me. At lunch I saw Elvira watching my every step like I would be lost. I grabbed

the chair next to Elvira and I knew Alice would sit next to me. ‘What’s gotten into you?’ Elvira tried waking

me up but I was so tired that I laid my head on the table.

‘Olivia…’ I heard my name; I slightly raised my head and saw Austin sitting in front of me.

‘What?’ I tried to sound normal. ‘I don’t hold a grudge against you.’ He said comfortably while everyone

sitting there stared at us.

I nodded and stood up. ‘Where are you going?’ Elvira grabbed my arm.

‘I have to go.’ I checked my phone and headed out. ‘Olivia…’ I turned and saw Austin following me back.

‘Are you following me?’ I looked at Elvira who kept looking at us.

‘You should come tomorrow, we are playing against Hungers.’ He raised his eyebrows.

‘Olivia…’ Xavier was now standing next to me. ‘We should go.’ He grabbed my arm while I looked at

Austin.

‘You shouldn’t be with him.’ Xavier stopped me. ‘Why?’ I looked at him.

‘I like you, I like you a lot.’ Xavier got me by surprise. ‘I am older than you.’ I reminded him.

‘I don’t care.’ He didn’t even think a second. ‘I care.’ I patted him on his shoulder and walked away.

‘Just think about it.’ He was now blocking my way. ‘Xavier, you hardly know me. We have been friends for

three days.’ I was reasoning.

‘Austin likes you.’ He blurted out. ‘What’s he doing in this argument?’ I was confused.

‘I already broke the code.’ He just said that and left.

‘Alice…’ I shouted who just left the cafeteria. ‘Yeah….’ She smiled and walked towards me.

‘Xavier, is he related to Austin?’ I asked her.

‘You don’t know? He is his step brother. Actually their parents were best friends and last year they got

married.’ Alice was being comfortable.

‘This is awkward.’ I muttered. ‘What is awkward?’ Alice looked at me.

‘Nothing, but why isn’t Elvira coming?’ I asked Alice.

‘Vince…’ She said rhetorically. I bit my lip and headed towards my next class.

‘Just so you know. You have been called dibs.’ Elvira whispered to me while entering our next class.

‘What?’ I looked at her while Austin entered the class. ‘You are looking at him.’ She took out her physics

notes.

‘How did you find out?’ I looked at her. ‘Vince.’ She said like I was asking something stupid.

I knew he kept looking at me and I remembered what Xavier confessed to me. I rolled my eyes every time I

remembered. Lionel wanted me meet him after school so I headed straight to his office.

‘Olivia…’ He stood up. ‘Why did you want to see me?’ I asked while I sat on the couch.

‘There is no time to waste.’ He walked outside. ‘Come on.’ He shouted back at me.

‘It was fun; it is the first time I lost a match against you.’ He opened the house door.

Secrets

‘All eyes are on you today.’ Elvira smiled while I dressed up for going to the match.

‘Olivia, I hear that you have a date tonight.’ Nicole entered the room.

‘It is not a date. I am going for the school.’ I wore my sterling silver key pendant.

‘You should wear that pendant I gave you.’ Nicole passed me the necklace.

‘Sure…’ I put them both on. ‘You should definitely wear this.’ Nicole passed me a long sleeves jersey dress

with black hosiery and Elvira paired it up with cage sandals.

‘I think you should wear these hoops.’ Elvira passed me feather earrings.

‘All done...’ Nicole turned me around. ‘Girls we should go now.’ Dad took his car keys.

‘You are dressed up.’ Mother looked at me like she knew something.

‘Mom it is not a date.’ I said. ‘I know.’ She sat in the car seat.

When we reached Elvira went to cheer. I sat next to Nicole while Lionel sat next to me. ‘I heard about things.’

Lionel passed me a chocolate bar.

‘News travel fast.’ I rolled my eyes and saw Xavier sitting in the last row.

‘I smell trouble.’ He saw me looking at him.

‘Shut up.’ I looked at Elvira who was kissing Vince.

‘Dad isn’t bothered.’ I pointed towards Elvira. ‘I think they aren’t looking at her.’ Lionel laughed and

munched his bar.

The match started soon and I didn’t even know why I was there. I looked at the game and then looked at

Xavier. ‘I have to go.’ I looked at Lionel who was eagerly watching the match.

‘What?’ He didn’t look at me. ‘Forget it.’ I muttered.

‘Are you okay?’ Nicole looked at me. ‘Yeah…’ I hooted.

Everyone was screaming. Only five minutes were left while I saw Samantha looking towards me in the crowd.

I don’t know but I walked towards her. ‘Olivia…’ Nicole was stopping me but I still walked towards her like

she was pulling me.

‘Lionel.’ I heard her scream but I stepped downstairs and I was in the middle of the field.

Referee was whistling but I saw the red head point the archer towards me and she shot. I tried to move but I

didn’t feel my legs.

‘Olivia…’ I heard Austin’s voice and he pushed me to the ground while I felt the arrow passing through me.

‘Olivia…’ He was forcing me to look at him while I heard people screaming.

‘Take this…’ Lionel passed a tablet into my mouth. I tried to swallow while Lionel picked me up and rushed

towards the car.

‘Wait here.’ Lionel grabbed his pistol from the back of the car. I saw the red head walking towards the car.

‘Eloise, I will come back for you.’ She just said that and then disappeared into thin air. I tried getting up to

follow her but I felt really weak.

‘Olivia…’ I heard Xavier’s voice. ‘You okay?’ He looked at the blood I had lost.

‘I am fine. You go look for Elvira.’ I told him. ‘Are you sure?’ He questioned.

‘Xavier, go.’ I yelled and touched my shoulder the blood was still flowing. I stood up and closed the door

behind. ‘Darling...’ Nicole was holding an arch bow while she rushed towards me.

‘You should sit.’ She pulled me towards the car. ‘Where is everyone?’ I was asking about dad and mother.

‘They are coming, but I need to take you home first.’ She opened the car door.

‘We should wait for Elvira at least.’ I suggested but she didn’t listen and drove the car.

‘Why did you?’ She looked at me. ‘Olivia that was so dangerous, we lost you once I don’t think David could

cope with it. If he lost you again I don’t know what this family would do.’ She parked the car and opened the

door.

‘I can walk now.’ I tried to stand but the drained blood blurred my senses.

‘Come on.’ Nicole helped towards my room. ‘I should help you clean this.’ She ripped my dress apart and

looked at the wound.

‘It passed right through you.’ She washed a piece a cloth. ‘It will take some time to heal.’ She rubbed the

medicine.

‘You should rest for now.’ She left the room while I stared at the street lights.

I barely remember when I closed my eyes. ‘Eloise…’ I looked up at the red head. Who stared at me and didn’t

even blink. ‘Why are you looking for me?’ I didn’t hesitate.

‘Eloise, I am your sister. I am Sienna, I would never hurt you.’ She moved towards me.

‘I almost died today.’ I looked at her trying to follow her shadow but I lost her. The darkness sinked into and I

was in a locked room now.

‘Sienna…’ I screamed out her name.

‘Olivia…’ Nicole was staring down at me. I gasped and tried to sit. ‘I am sorry.’ I looked at my hands.

‘Sienna, how do you know her?’ Nicole questioned while I was speechless.

‘She was there.’ I tried to speak but I was mumbling. ‘I think it is time for you to remember, what you were.’

She tucked my hair back.

‘What I was?’ I was verbally saying it but my mind was elsewhere.

‘I will talk to you tomorrow.’ She closed the door behind while I stared down at the eagle necklace. I looked

at the carvings which clearly stated lost soul.

‘Lost soul….’ I looked into the mirror like I saw somebody else. The image which was there was barely me.

‘Olivia…’ Dad walked into my room. ‘Yeah…’ I looked at him.

‘How are you coping?’ He touched my forehead. ‘I am fine, dad.’ I continued.

‘Olivia, you were barely listening to us. What if something worse had happened?’ He was worried.

‘Dad, nothing happened. I am sorry for blacking out.’ I clutched his hand.

‘He wants to see you.’ Dad stood up. ‘Who are you talking about?’ I asked.

‘He tried saving you.’ He kissed my forehead and opened the door and I saw Austin standing in the corridor.

I heard dad’s steps while he went downstairs while Austin proceeded into the room. ‘It’s slightly messy.’ I

rubbed eyes and breathed out.

‘How are you feeling?’ I felt the awkwardness in his voice. ‘I am fine, thanks to you.’ I smiled at him while he

was still standing.

‘I should let you rest.’ He walked towards the door. ‘I am glad that you are okay.’ He paused and looked back.

‘I am glad too.’ I looked away. ‘I will see you around.’ He exited and didn’t wait for my reply.

I stood up walked towards the window. I saw Austin drive his car back. ‘Xavier.’ I muttered.

‘What happened to you?’ Elvira was slightly annoyed. ‘Honestly speaking, I don’t know either.’ I looked back

at her who was texting.

‘Look at this.’ She showed me the video in which I was dazed walking towards Samantha. ‘Olivia…’ I could

hear Nicole screaming my name while I didn’t pause I kept moving towards her. The arrow was shot while

Austin pushed me towards the ground. ‘That’s my sister.’ I heard Elvira voice. ‘Alice, do something. She

continued and ran towards me.

‘Elvira, no.’ Alice dragged her back while Lionel picked me up.

‘You taped it all.’ I looked at her while I saw him. ‘Viscount….’ I saw his face standing behind Sienna.

‘What did you just say?’ Elvira forced me to look at her.

‘Viscount…’ I spoke. ‘You are not Olivia.’ She screamed. ‘Mom…’ She ran out of the room.

‘Elvira…’ I walked behind her. ‘Calm down.’ Lionel told her.

‘Ask her, how she knew Viscount?’ Everyone was shocked and looked at me.

‘I met him, while I was held captive. He came to meet me.’ I was telling the truth.

puzzles.

something from me.’ I was being completely honest.

‘Look at her teeth.’ She told Elvira. ‘She is human.’ Nicole continued.

‘False alarm...’ Margaret looked carefully at my canines. ‘I can’t believe you didn’t recognize your own

sister.’ Mother looked at Elvira.

‘We know that she resembled the Rhine.’ Elvira argued. ‘We knew Eloise was a Lancerine. Olivia was her

human twin sister.’ Elvira spilled the beans.

I couldn’t believe what I heard. ‘Twin sister ...’ I muttered. I was totally losing my cool.

‘You guys need some explaining to do.’ I stepped backwards.

‘Olivia’s mother was a Lascelles and father was a Rhine.’ Nicole continued.

‘Vampires.’ I whispered while the flashbacks came. ‘Correct, somehow the twins were one human and other

was born a vampire. Your mother Elena, she brought you to us. She knew you would find your other half,

your own blood. Things particularly changed when Eloise started hanging out with the Raider’s. You needed

to find her so you went to Haven but you never returned.’ Nicole breathed out while the truth was out.

‘You are human, you must be Olivia. Eloise was born a vampire.’ Margaret looked at me.

‘And what are we?’ I looked at Elvira who was just as surprised as me.

‘The Descendants; born to defeat the Raider’s. You were born to meet your sister to kill her.’ Nicole’s answer

punctured a hole into my heart.

‘I think Eloise is dead.’ I looked at Lionel who seemed to already know this.

‘Mercer the leader of the Raider’s killed her.’ Lionel told.

‘So now we have to kill him and Viscount.’ I was grasping everything in. I remembered Fredrick telling me

‘Why am I the last person to know this?’ Elvira slightly broke the tension.

‘Then you aren’t my real family.’ I remembered the hard truth. ‘Olivia, you were everything to us since the

day you came here.’ Margaret wrapped her arms around me.

‘Basically, I have to kill my own people.’ I realized. ‘Olivia, they would kil l you. They would kill you again

and again.’ Nicole resisted saying something.

‘Kill me again and again?’ I looked at her while my curiosity increased.

‘You were born as the heritage owner. You had three lives, each life in a different place. Once born a wolf,

once a vampire and once a human. Eloise was your alternate personality, the alternate vampire. The alternate

soul, existing in two places at once. Stefan knew you because he was your husband from the wolf era.’ David

was being honest.

‘I don’t get it. I had a twin sister who was born a Lancerine. Then how come she was my alternative

personality?’ I was miserably confused.

‘The thing is that Eloise was killed the day Calais and her father was killed by the Raider’s. Eloise died the

moment Raider’s touched Sylvia’s blood. She covered herself thinking that would safe her. She died that

moment. That is when Olivia disappeared into Haven. The life existence Eloise thought she had her life, she

thought they left her was Olivia all along. Living her Vampire years. Her sister died but she wasn’t the one

who killed her.’ Nicole answered.

Dark Despair

I knew everything now. I knew what happened to the real Eloise and the Eloise I was living. The truth was

haunting me now. To have being destined to kill your own sister was a punch back at my face. I didn’t fulfill

that destiny, but I will do everything to complete what she wanted from her life. I know I have lived for so

long forgetting what past I had.

‘Olivia, you can do it.’ Nicole threw me the arch bow and I shot into the sir hitting the helpless bird.

‘Austin…’ I saw him walk towards us.

‘He is my husband’s nephew.’ Nicole smiled at me. ‘Way to go. I am related to him now.’ I breathed out.

‘How are you doing?’ He grabbed the other arch bow while I found Xavier looking at me.

The Step Brother…. ‘It is a match.’ Austin threw the first shot.

‘Bring it on.’ I aimed and shot. ‘Xavier.’ I called out for him while Austin was amused.

‘I like you both, but I don’t want to be with anyone of you.’ Elvira who just came broke into laughter.

‘It is a fair play then.’ Xavier looked at Austin who barely cared.

‘I heard about you.’ Austin knew everything. After all he was a member of the Descendants.

I carelessly laughed at the thought. ‘We head out tonight.’ Nicole told and then she left.

‘You ready?’ Lionel asked while he grabbed the things.

‘I think I am.’ I followed him behind and headed towards the forest. Haven is just two days walk from here.

‘It is time.’ Nicole called out while Haven was two steps away.

‘Humans against werewolf’s and vampires….’ Xavier laughed at the thought.

‘The tablets...’ Lionel passed me a few before I entered Haven. ‘Eyes open.’ Nicole stated.

I walked into the house, from what I remembered from the flashbacks his room was upstairs.

‘Mercer…’ I walked into his room. His eyes popped open while he saw my face.

‘Eloise…’ The last words he spoke and then I shot the trigger. The silver bullet passing through his chest; He

screamed in pain.

‘Olivia, I am not Eloise. It is Olivia.’ I spilled wolf’s bane, over his wounded body. ‘This is for killing

everyone you ever killed. This is for killing our child. This is for ruining everything I ever believed in.’ I

forced the herb into his mouth while he choked. ‘This isn’t over yet, Olivia.’ He stated. ‘Just remember what I

said. The moment he breathed out I slightly remember everything which was happening around me. I walked

into the hallway and found Sienna and Samantha fighting fiercely with Elvira.

‘Sienna….’ I shouted at her and she paused to look at me while Elvira passed the stake through her heart.

‘Eloise….’ She breathed out while Samantha was Elvira’s next target.

She was holding her breath while I walked towards her. ‘I was waiting on you.’ She closed her eyes and

slipped away.

‘She was your sister.’ Viscount threw the knife at me and I dodged it. ‘What happens even if she was my

sister? I was born to kill my real sister. She was just a step.’ I shot the Barrier.

‘Eloise, you have forgotten everything.’ Viscount yelled at me.

‘I didn’t forget the part you wanted me dead.’ I threw the dagger knife at him and he missed.

‘Eloise…’ He called out. ‘Stop calling me that. I finally know who I am.’ I threw the single blood bomb I had.

‘Olivia….’ He spoke and I suddenly stopped. The dagger went through me. ‘Olivia…’ Austin screamed while

I saw Viscount running away.

‘Olivia….’ He helped me. ‘Kill him.’ I grabbed his collar. ‘Kill him.’ I referred to Viscount and he left.

Samantha was still dealing with Elvira. ‘Hey you…’ I called out at her and threw the dagger which ripped her

body apart turning into ash.

I tried to stand and look for Viscount. He was nearly killing Austin while I shoved the dagger through his

heart and he turned into ash.

‘Come on.’ I hel ped Austin stand.

‘Retreat….’ Nicole shouted and we headed towards Paradise.

‘Hurry up.’ I grabbed Elvira’s arm and found Xavier waiting for us. The shots were fired and we tried to miss

each one of them.

‘Elvira, just go.’ I let her go and stayed behind.

‘Olivia…’ Austin was confused. ‘Just go.’ I shouted but he didn’t move.

Nicole dragged him away while I threw the last shots. Another dart flew straight threw me dropping me on my

knees.

‘Stella…’ I looked at Viscount’s sister. I thought she would drive the dagger throw me but she punched me

leaving me unconscious.

‘I don’t want to live anymore.’ I told Fredrick.
