Vive la France! On Friday, November 25, 2016, Mrs. Myrie-Jones and Ms. Hannam took some students to “Touch of France”. Students got a chance to learn more about the French language as well as to interact in French. There was a quiz competition put on by the organizers and we placed second in the senior and junior categories. Félicitations à vous !

Mrs. Peta-Gay Smith had her students of Spanish learning the Salsa and the Merengue at the SimÓn Bolívar Cultural Centre. A little taste of ”comida mejicana” was had at Chilitos.

With less than a month’s lead time, Campion managed to train and field over 70 CAFFE observers in the Local Government election. Another 50 Campionites manned the CAFFE Data Centre at Campion under the direction of Ms. Kathryn Stewart and

Mr. Oneil Hibbert. Once again, a generous team of parents and staff provided transportation and lunch for our students, as well as for students from other high schools in the corporate area who were in the field on Election Day. As a school, we are indeed “committed to social justice”.

NOTICES

We can hardly believe that the youthful,

effervescent Dr. J. Barton, 2nd Form

Supervisor, has reached the age of

retirement. The school will formally thank

her for her service to Campion College at

next year’s Magis Awards Ceremony.

Farewell Dr. Barton

Thank You H.S.A.!

The Home School Association kept up its dizzying schedule of activities this term. Under the leadership of our new President, Mrs. Alveta Knight, the H.S.A. machinery gave support to all our major school functions, successfully executed all its fundraising activities and still had energy left over to provide some, simple but beautiful touches to enhance our environment and sense of community. I refer specifically to their distribution of charms and pendants to all parents during Parents Week and the decoration of the campus with festive bows, ornaments and a nativity scene for the Christmas season. We cannot thank you enough, dear parents and guardians!
