The Event

SPCI & Friends at Gröna Lund is one-day conference for the forest based products industry, with

parallel conference tracks and the possibility for company visibility and co-events in a unique

surrounding. The idea of having a professional industry event at an amusement park initially grew

from two successful SPCI events; an evening event at Gröna Lund during the SPCI 100 anniversary

celebrations 2008 and SPCI Convention, a multitrack, easy-to-access conference at Stockholm

Waterfront Congress Centre in 2013. In 2015 the first SPCI & Friends was launched and became an

immediate success, engaging close to 3000 professionals in the forest based products industry.

Our aim is to repeat the success in 2018 as well as adding new features such as a track for students

and young professionals.

Conference & Evening Program

The event consists of a one-day, multitrack quality assured conference followed by evening

activities. The available stages are the Gröna Lund Theatre, Tyrol, Dansbanan, Glasburen and the

main stage, Stora Scenen.

The conference program will contain several different topics covering the latest R&D, innovation,

projects and investments, new materials, business areas and trends in the forest based products

industry. The conference program is put together by a conference committee with members from

the association SPCI’s pulp, paper and research committees. There will not be any call for papers. All

sponsors have the opportunity to contribute to the conference program. Each session will be 50

minutes long so that people have time to transfer from one stage to another.

New for SPCI & Friends 2018 is the organized track for students and young professionals.
