Hello and welcome to Aconbury Shepherd Huts –The home of hand-built

traditional Shepherd Huts located here in

deepest rural Herefordshire.

My name is Stephen Turner (pictured with my

baby brother Richard) and I am very proud of

how our huts have developed over the past few

years into well designed, insulated and adaptable

units. We now have huts spread all over England

as well as some on The Isle of Wight, France and

even one in Italy.

Our huts are hand-made from start to finish.

The only component we buy in complete is the

Oak stable door and frame. The design of our

standard hut purposely allows for changes and

specifications to be easily made from the strong

standard design so as to fulfil your specific requirements.

The demand for huts fitted out with shower and toilet facilities has been

ongoing throughout the year due to mainly land owners going into

diversification as well as people just wanting additional accommodation. We

tailor make our huts to suit your needs. As well as the glamping use as

mentioned above, our huts have been built and used for Offices, special

educational needs, classrooms, craft rooms, play rooms, summer rooms,

open fronted pavilions. etc. The options are endless.

Our first Grandchild, with the boss, who will hopefully take over one day!

Bed & Breakfast !

There has been a massive increase in demand for our huts to be fitted out for

accommodation purposes for renting out, B & B or simply for those who want

to offer more comfort for guests. Always check with your local planning authority

first regarding using the huts for running a business.

Your shower room can be built across the

end of the hut as above. Or, if you prefer,

we can build it to form a passageway as

shown on the right.

The majority of the plumbing

is below the floor.

All pipework is pressure

tested and checked prior to

the floor deck being installed.

Your Shower Room

We use high quality standard

size plumbing products.

All electrics are tested

and a certificate to the

current edition is issued.

The hot tap is supplied via an instant

hot water heater placed below the

basin.

There are so many options available to make your hut unique and to

fulfil your requirements from beds to cupboards, toilets and showers

The Build Process.

Our design and manufacturing process has mastered the requirements to build

an excellent, high quality, traditional shepherd hut by using modern materials

to a traditional design but not loosing any links with our rural heritage or

compromising on quality.

When we say our huts are hand built

they really are! What a difference a

good driver / Crane operator makes.

Mark drops the materials inside the

workshop so as to reduce man handling

- good lad.

A good strong timber base using

C16 structural grade timber forms

the

foundation which your hut is built up

from.

The timber frame work is built up

off the base. Openings are formed

for window fitting as required.

Ceiling joists are added and the

internal is lined.

The complete hut, including floor,

walls and ceiling are filled with

high quality, modern, energy

efficient insulation. First fix

electrics and plumbing is installed.

The Build Process (Continued)

The hut is covered in a breathable,

waterproof membrane to prevent any

sweating or condensation.

The exterior is then clad in Pre-finished

corrugated sheeting to a colour of your

choice. A swatch showing the colour

options is included in this brochure.

The interior has Tongue and Groove

planking installed and decorated in your

choice of colours.

Second fix electric and lighting is added.

Windows and double glazed units are

installed.

Easy to clean flooring is fitted.

The steel sub-frames and

undercarriage is added along with

the wheels, drawbar and steps.

Our Basic Standard Hut Specification and Price.

Our basic Shepherd hut consists of the following specification as standard:-

· Standard external size of 14’ x 7’ (4,200mm x 2,100mm)

· Choice of full floor length or porch.

· Full height stable door and Furniture. 33” x 78” (840mm x 2,000mm)

· One small opening window, fully double glazed and fittings. 18” x 18” (450mm x

450mm)

· One large window (half opening), fully double glazed and fittings. 48” x 32”

(1,200mm x 800mm)

· Steel profile / corrugated cladding. Choice of colours (See swatch).

· Fully insulated throughout and vapour barrier.

· Internally fully lined throughout with Tongue & Groove joinery and decorated to your

choice of colours.

· Fitted out with Electrics – 4 No double sockets, 4 No light fittings 1 External Light.

External socket for connection (adaptor supplied).

· Complete running gear (wheels, turntable etc) and traditional towing ‘A’ frame.

There are a number of options available so as to make your Hut as individual as you

require such as beds, electric stoves which look like multi-fuel ones, showers, toilets,

additional windows, French Doors, external timber cladding etc. Please refer to our

attached ‘Options Price List’ for further details. If you need other fixtures not listed

please let me know.

Our Terms and Conditions. £1,000.00 Deposit is required when your order is placed and

the balance on completion prior to delivery. Delivery is by a specialist contractor which I

can arrange and will be quoted separately.

All sizes are approximate and we reserve the right to replace components as availability of

supplies dictate.
